Fabia SEL 2024, android auto won't connect my Google Pixel 6a
We have experienced similar issues. I have an Poco 3 phone and the wife an iPhone. It took me forever to get my phone working through the infotainment system. Our Monte Carlo hasn't got built in sat nav and in any case I prefer to use a Garmin DriveSmart 65. Nightmare again with firstly no easy way to attach the device to the car and then trying to get Alexa working. The wife needed to master the sat nav today and I tried to link her iPhone to the car but it won't cooperate. The Fabia wasn't designed to be easy-peasy when it comes to the electronics. If it was they messed up big time. She will be using the phone only when parked. On other cars you relax and fiddle with settings when stationary - engine off and ignition on. The Fabia doesn't have an ignition switch.

Steering wheel Clamps, added security?
My first buy was very similar to the Monojoy in that review. Cheaply made with tacky DIY foam for where it grabs the steering wheel. It went straight back to Amazon and was replaced by the Stoplock Pro. You need the Pro version to fit the Fabia Monte Carlo. I'd still choose this one over the full wheel cover variety. Storage is going to be an issue with most of these devices but will be worst with the Disklok full cover type. If I had a van that's the design I'd go for though.

Gear change recommendations displayed on dash for Mk 4 Monte Carlo manual no longer accurate
Just to clarify, the readings are now back to useful data. Unfortunately, I can't ignore in your face dashboard recommendations when they are clearly wrong. I must have fiddled with the stalk carrying the speed limiter controls without knowing what I was doing and this corrected later on when I actually used the speed limiter. Maybe there's a Fabia equivalent of returning to factory settings but I'd be scared to do that in case it wiped something important. I'm not very impressed with the speed limiter function but it might be handy on long motorway stretches with a 50mph limit for roadworks. We do like the eco suggestions which have helped us adapt to the new car which is a very different animal to drive.

Steering wheel Clamps, added security?
Thanks SurreyJohn for that useful link to official Skoda Fabia accessories of which I was unaware. I have bought something which may do the job. It's the Kelhis Flexistick 60cm version. It consists of a square sectioned length of flexible foam with strong velcro underneath. I've placed it at a slight angle along the left side of the boot to give a narrow section where the Stoplock Pro can slot in. It's rather dear for what it is but if it works I'll be happy. If not it's easy to reposition and should help with boot storage generally.

Steering wheel Clamps, added security?
If you have a Mk 4 Fabia I'd give the Stoplock Pro a miss. What I'm finding very difficult is how to position it when I'm driving. It's fine with the Stoplock perched on the passenger seat - you can remove it and secure it without any issues after putting in a little bit of practice. Now if you carry a passenger it becomes a nuisance. The device doesn't fit in if you move it to the rear seating area. So what's wrong with the boot? Well the Stoplock Pro is a very awkward size and shape when it comes to finding a suitable position there too. It's too long to fit comfortably and slides around when you are driving. So far I haven't worked out a solution. Instead of the silly bag it comes with a basic stand with velcro to secure it to the boot floor would be very welcome. If anybody can come up with a simple solution please post.

Steering wheel Clamps, added security?
The baddies hopefully will be attracted by by BMW or Mercedes models rather than a Skoda Fabia but I agree a full cover for the steering wheel is best for security. I wanted a good product but the Disklok is very expensive. The Fabia does have an alarm system so that together with something that's clearly visible (yellow) should help give piece of mind. Being careful where you park is a consideration too.

Monte Carlo 1.0 110
Our 2023 Monte Carlo is the 1.0 TSI 110bhp with manual gearbox and it seems very responsive. Mind you our last car was over 20 years old and a diesel. Maybe we should have gone with the automatic gearbox option but in general it's a great car to drive. Fuel economy is disappointing but we are doing short journeys.

Steering wheel Clamps, added security?
I decided to buy a steering lock when my new car was on order. The adjustable sliding bar type was my first purchase based on euphoric Amazon reviews. It was of Chinese design and came with stick on foam pads to protect the steering wheel. It was inevitably going to mark the steering wheel which on a new car was a big no no. If you go for something on these lines choose an expensive well thought out product. The large Disklok cover looks very secure but I suspected it of being heavy and awkward to store and use. In the end I went with a Stoplock Pro after checking with the makers that it would fit the Mk 4 Fabia. It does the job and so long as you make sure the steering wheel is close to straight on parking you'll get it on and off OK. It takes some careful practice first. The device comes with a bag which seemed a good idea but isn't really useful in practice. With no passenger you can rest it on the passenger seat but if it goes in the boot it will slide around and make noises. I haven't decided how best to sort that yet. Do you need extra security to secure a vehicle? Yes of course plus a faraday type case for your key if the car has the latest digital starter button technology,

Gear change recommendations displayed on dash for Mk 4 Monte Carlo manual no longer accurate
I have made some progress on this issue. Having decided that It's time I mastered the innovations that cars now have I went for a drive to explore the cruise control on my Fabia Monte Carlo. It turns out my car doesn't have cruise control after all but has something called a speed limiter. For the less informed, cruise control is useful for motorway cruising whereas a speed limiter is more for urban driving with say 30mph speed limits. Why it doesn't have both puzzles me. I did get the hang of the speed limiter and there was a bonus. What I noticed after switching the speed limiter function off was that the recommendations for changing gear were once again sensible just as they had been until about a fortnight ago. Some text came up momentarily on the dash about eco tips. The wife has complained a few times that our agreed choice of the layout for the virtual cockpit has changed by itself since a previous drive. On the Skoda connect app the info says that there is no fault detected. I hope that electronic glitches are not going to become a regular occurrence with our Monte Carlo.

I can't find anything like that in our Monte Carlo which doesn't even have sat nav built in. My last car was over 20 years old and getting to grips with this Fabia is a challenge. However, I'm pretty sure there's no drive mode options on the manual gearbox Monte Carlo. Thanks for trying to help but I could do with a reply from someone familiar with the model.

Gear change recommendations displayed on dash for Mk 4 Monte Carlo manual no longer accurate
We've been driving many years and make our own decision about the gear selected but something has definitely changed. I've looked up "drive mode" in the handbook but we are looking here at a manual gearbox so that doesn't apply. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem possible to turn this in your face feature off. There are so many electronic wonders in the latest cars that maybe they are over engineered - more to go wrong. I don't want to pay over £100 to be told that there is no problem and the first service which if you are correct includes a free diagnostic will be after one year's motoring has been completed so still not reassured.

Gear change recommendations displayed on dash for Mk 4 Monte Carlo manual no longer accurate
I’m asking about a late 2023 Mk4 Fabia Monte Carlo 1.0 TSI 110. (6 forward manual gears) It’s great to drive and comfortable but there is a recommendation to change gear function on the dashboard display. When we got the car, this aid seemed to be doing a good job and we made use of it to keep the revs low. All of a sudden for no apparent reason it has decided to give recommendations which are well out of line. It’s now asking us to change down to a lower gear even when the car is quite happy in the current gear. There are two of us who drive the car and we agree that it is now assessing things differently and working against us. I’ve booked it in at the local dealership and will have to wait over a fortnight plus I’ve been informed that if the engineers don’t find a fault or it is not covered by warranty, we’ll be charged over £100. The large red front assist warning has also come on unexpectedly a few times but there’s a setting which I’ve found and changed from early to medium which may solve that. Any thoughts from those familiar with the electronics on the latest Mk 4 Fabia models? Is the Skoda dealership likely to stonewall or be helpful? Any tips on how best to handle the discussions at the dealership?
