  1. I had a car that squeaked and rustled around the dashboard and uttered plaintive cries when turning the steering wheel from lock to lock' especially as the weather got hotter. I found a small amount of silicone household polish applied with a squirt, or on a cloth, shut it all up, especially the steering column nylon bushes. Just be careful overspray can turn surfaces such as car mats extremely slick.
  2. After many years a Ford owner, I decided to buy a Skoda Yeti, I had two, then a Fabia Kombi monte carlo and a 1.5 Kamiq, monte carlo dsg, my first automatic and now a Fabia SE-L dsg I quite like Skoda. I would like a top range Superb but never seem to run to one. Enjoy your Octavia it is a brilliant car.
  3. john1952, I looked at the original kit and there it was! re. the Aero wheel covers, they may be needed when you come to sell your car. Cleaned up they would make unusual wall decoration or put back on the car could save you money when petrol prices climb again😄.
  4. I have not really looked at the Aero wheel covers, what are the pullers like, please. I am surprised I got a free umbrella let alone no pullers.
  5. A bit long winded but another angle on using an automatic, he calls the DSG a Robotised-Gearbox.
  6. Not much room with the full sized wheel as you supposed, the polystyrene I took out was left outside under a porch my female cat has moved in as it is warmer than her usual cardboard box.
  7. I have bought and installed the full sized spare wheel along with the polystyrene tool storage. I have put the previously installed tool into their new home but am left with the repair bottle and inflator to find a secure home for. Has anyone got any good ideas on storing these last two items, please. I did look at the elastic strap but it looks over stretched and not vibration safe. A photo might help. * I know I no longer need the repair bottle but I no longer have a garage and definitely no room in my shed.
  8. I noticed it (after sitting in the car for hours) so all I had was damp carpet . I wound the window right down and VERY gently pushed the frame then repeated the talc test. A body shop is a good idea if you are not too sure. Putting dry paper in suspect areas can be a useful way of finding leaks.
  9. Lightly talc your rear door seals, then gently but firmly close them. When you open them there should be an even talc mark around the inner seal. Repeat the exercise with the boot seal. I had a car and the top of the passenger had been pulled out a little and allowed water in during heavy rain.
  10. £24 on Amazon I think it is called a NOMAD boot tray
  11. e-bay have nets search boot storage nets for Skoda Fabias
  12. I used a obd adapter cable mine has been on three cars now with no problems. It is switched to allow, On for parking and Off with the ignition Off. Garmin offer a similar unit for about £42 or an online store cable for half that price.
  13. I think it is working, don't know what I did exactly, just retraced my steps (possibly with a little care) I phoned the Lioness from the car and her dulcet tones came in loud and clear.
