  1. Ahh, thanks for that diagram. Looks like I've attached it to the right thing. 👍 I'll have to give it another go. Really worried that I had caused damage (after waiting 10 months for it. 😱)
  2. Ok, thanks. Right, doesn't look as though my photos have uploaded properly 🙄 The other thing is I'm concerned whether I'm connecting the negative charging clamp to the right earthing point. I was hoping the photo would show where I've stuck it. It's an upright metal bit screwed to the bulkhead just behind the battery. Where it's screwed in, there's 2 screws with wires attached and they're brown. Does the sound right?
  3. Sorry if this has been posted before anywhere. I took delivery, yesterday, by trailer of a 2022 Superb Estate 2.0TSI 190HP. After messing around with some of the features I thought I may as well charge the battery while it was in the garage. I connected up a CTEK Multi XS 7000, which I've used previously for years. Connected the positive terminal and stuck the negative clamp onto, what I believe is the earthing point, just behind the battery. Put the mode on snowflake as I'm sure the batteries are AGM. After 30 minutes the charger got quite warm and the cable became hot. I changed the mode to normal and the cable cooled right down although the charger was quite warm. ( warmer than when i used to charge my 2016 2.2 CDI Kia Sorento ). The charge capacity indicator stayed on a quarter for at least 30 minutes without moving up. ( again, unlike when I used it on the Sorento.) Could anybody tell me please what I am doing wrong or if I'm causing any damage? I disconnected it all until I've got help from some of you guys and girls. I'll see if I can put up a couple of photos as it may help you all (hopefully) 0EEA2951-0F44-4BCA-ABBD-E24EFE0BA325.heic F9CAF00E-0816-4317-B027-24754B686699.heic
  4. Lol! Only somebody with a woodburner under the bonnet would respond to my comment
  5. The replies to this post just goes to emphasise how different we all are.....and that is a good thing! Personally, I'm in the debadging group, the first thing to go on my cars along with those poxy stickers the dealers slap on your windows! As for people thinking I'm driving a 1.4 instead of a 3.6 I couldn't honestly give a monkey's!
  6. ...........Fell off my bl**dy seat laughing when I read this!
  7. Have you cut a slot in your puck so that the seam fits in it?
  8. That's an understatement if ever I've heard one! When I bought my car the brochure said it was standard on the V6.....guess what? It wasn't! Skoda kindly gave me £555 to ease my annoyance. As an aside, the paddles are brilliant !
  9. .......and hopefully they're stick some bigger engines in it!
  10. Oh Sh** ! Only just seen this! Sorry to see this but glad you're ok David! Hopefully the insurance company will spring for a BRAND NEW one!
  11. Brilliant advice! I use a sray bottle mixed 50/50 with white vinegar and de ionised water. Had squeaky wipers when my motor was new. Cleaned the screen with vinegar mixture and a really rough scrim cloth and then polished with a microfibre cloth..........no more squeaky wipers!
  12. Bet she gets pretty excited if you start driving fast though!
  13. Well, I never realised there was a demand for badges! I've debadged my Superb and wife's Fabia and my son has done his VRS Octavia. Will make sure I keep them all in the future to help some poor soul out!
  14. They must be launching that on 1st April!
  15. There was a post up probably a couple of years ago now with a chap saying he had 2 buckled Lunas but swore he hadn't dived into a pothole! My wheels are fine and there are a few others on here with them that don't seem to have any trouble. With the state of the roads in the UK, with speed bumps, rumble strips and the like you just have to observe road conditions really closely.....like you were on a motorbike!
  16. Fancy getting something with a bit more go in it......http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://cars-database.com/data_images/gallery/03/boss-hoss-v8/boss-hoss-v8-03.jpg&imgrefurl=http://cars-database.com/gallery/boss-hoss-v8.html&h=550&w=377&sz=39&tbnid=falM3sEKh1Z2KM:&tbnh=109&tbnw=75&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dboss%2Bhoss%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=boss+hoss&usg=__nIrFFWuTHZHCxkpyQkvf7WDXOks=&docid=cS86UewuRGbiNM&sa=X&ei=PBMOUv2KGcXBhAfV74DYAw&sqi=2&ved=0CD4Q9QEwAg&dur=567#imgdii=_ Might even get the Motorbike.
  17. It's well worn now! Must have all of 7600 on it.....going to get a new one soon. Don't like driving anything with more than 5K on it! Oops, done a double quote!.....that's cos sadgit's got a stutter!
  18. How about a new exhaust?..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dw1x8ZQ0VaE
  19. Yup, just trudged into the garage and measured them...... the things I have to do!
  20. Nothing wrong with my wheels I think they're sticking these disks on the new VRS Octavia now.
  21. Meant to add, the battery is in that storage compartment on the nearside.
  22. Careful or you're start getting paranoid! Listening for noises can turn you insane! Mine only rattled on idle. As soon as I touched the throttle it went. The clicking and stuff after you switch off, I would say, is just the metal cooling down. Shame you didn't get a wagon..
  23. Glad you like your motor! Could that rattle be coming from underneath the driver's seat? I had a rattle in mine when I got it and it drove me round the bend! Found out eventually that it was the fuel pipes knocking together just under the driver's seat area. The R36 had the same problem and VW/Skoda have produced a fix for it.....a better bracket and a big bit of foam!!
