Thats a very rare little early estelle you have. Parts are about if u look hard enough. Worth saving. Mainly welding and fabrication. Good luck.. anymore pics..

Two months on from last update, MOT was up at end of May, but trip to Stanford revealed a sticking piston or pistons on the off side caliper, consequently with a hot disc and poor braking performance with the car pulling to the left (on the basis that the near side was performing correctly), so unlikely to pass said MOT.
Unfortunately I could not get round to sorting out brakes until earlier this month, and needed not only to sort calipers but also replace hoses as these were already an advisory on last years test for evidence of perishing. So capliers were stripped and posted off to Bigg Red in Worcester. Came back today fully reconditioned with new pistons, seals, dust covers, bleed screws, joiners and powder coating.
Hoses I've ordered won't be here until Monday 4th August and had to use heat on two of the old ones to release them from the metal pipes, so no hoses to refit and can't makes National meet :(. It'll be someone else's turn to win car of the show this year! But at least I'll have some brakes which is a plus.
Ive got some larger brakes for your rapid sitting idle in the workshop if your interested., cheers Jay..

Hello there James, I know the red one and its a great buy at the price he wants, its had some subtle mods that would make it more easy going for everyday use..The parts for his engine are easily obtainable on ebay and its a comfy car that is again as others have said very much a rarity in the uk..Im restoring a 1965 one at the mo and Ive also got a 1966 one and Ive had two others, hope you go for it, cheers Jay..

Could you let me know how much you want for the engine and it was running you say, did you drive it..
Its a pity the project cant be completed the mr2 route would be a lot of fun..
My mid engined skoda mb may be for sale soon as I want to start a new project maybe a estelle 4x4 using a complete octavia as the donor car with a remapped 1.8t maybe 230 bhp..

You could add an extra wire if needed to a good earth.Ive got some new bowls somewhere if you need some..Jay..
-
Good luck with the mid engined idea, mines great fun to drive, cooling the engine effectively takes a bit of thinking.
Your always welcome to pop in and have a peep at mine..Jay Ivey..

How did you get on after parts..How many 1203s have you got..Cheers Jay..

I had a highly tuned skoda engine in the back of my 1966 skoda mb up until about a year ago and with a few tweaks here and there it was great to drive.I have a 1800 rover k series engine mid mounted in the car now and it is very neutral and performs even better.
It was easy before to encourage the rear of the car to slide its arse out but now it is far more difficult to do this..Hoping the 200 hp turbo I have planned for it increases the fun..
