Unsure to what extent they are open, but had the usual reminders for servicing and mot at the Skoda garage.

It's surprising how quick they have appeared, seems the cold, damp weather has accelerated the reaction. I've told them to get it looked at by the supplying dealer this week. Hopefully all will go well and get sorted.

Not sure of the full history, as it was purchased from a Skoda dealer about 2 years ago. The issue certainly seems to be from below the paint and limited to the 2 panels.

I've spotted the replacement tether on AliExpress, no idea how easy it is to replace.

Don't think the logbook will show the previous owners details due to GDPR, think the best you get now is the number of owners.

Those scratches, could they be where a dent removal specialist has 'pushed' dents out of the bonnet?

I got some of these window blinds http://www.carshades.co.uk/shades-skoda-octavia-2004-c-2729_3662_3676_3677.html The rear window is in 2 parts, but I can live with the middle join line for the price, especially when compared to the official Skoda blinds.

I find the octavia is the ideal family transport, there is usually a 3 year old in a car seat, a 10 year old and a 14 year old squabbling among themselves in the back of ours. My preference is the estate over hatchback, but there's nothing like a test drive to answer any doubts.

I have mate. I put a thread up in general maintenance asking if I stood a chance getting Skoda to fix it under that warranty, but no one replied. I figured it was best in that sub forum with it not being car specific, but I don't think it gets all that much site traffic.
I honestly think Skoda would laugh me out the shop, as it's obviously been like that for a while and I've stupidly not seen
I've already emailed them but I don't expect a reply any time soon...
If they refuse to help, I'll just have to remove the door and sill protector and repair it myself. I might see if I can run the automotive paint through my Badger 200 airbrush.
But you'll never know their response without trying, for the sake of a visit to the nearest dealer, the worst they say is no.

Have you not thought of getting Skoda to look at it under the body perforation warranty?

Really like this, the car Skoda should of produced.

Hope the attached image helps.i tried fitting the new shape, rounded, mud flaps to the back, wheel off, hot water etc, but the holes in the liner are too far over for the edge of the mudflap to reach
The top hole aligns, but the other holes are on the edge and once the arch is in the groove, I cannot move it any further to the right in order to align the holes.
So wheel back on, no rear mudflaps:(
Fronts were fine.
Any suggestions welcomed
Thanks

I took my mk1 vrs to a VW garage for a cambelt and waterpump in the past as they had an offer, currently showing a price of £349 for the cambelt so factor a little more for the waterpump. http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/servicing/fixed-price-servicing

Found this post, that was in the Yeti Forum referring to the 1.2 TSI

Try something like Iron X, my mk2 octavia had similar marks, think the problem is caused by the transport process via train across Europe, iron fallout from the trains brakes.

To be honest I was expecting a greater price hike on the vrs 230, but that could be because I remember the price hike on the mk1 wrc version vrs which was around £4 - 5K more than a standard octavia rs. If the UK car gets the extra equipment shown (click on pictures for more information) then it doesn't seem a bad purchase.
