  1. Need pictures to see what they look like. Isn't there one in the rear window too?

If you do a quick search in the forum for "VRS - IRC CHAMPION 2010" you’ll find a post from '32KOFDATA' who’s made a Pdf of the iRC stickers compared with the original ones.

  2. thats not cheeky, its the least id expect if i had to give them my car for 2 days

Got a courtesy car (Octavia Estate 1.6 5 speed manual) was a thrilling drive :dull: and a mobile advert for the dealership!!

My car was away for 4 days, the blemish had gone and the paint work was perfert but...... A nice dent & scratch had apperared in my drivers door !!!!! so i'm waiting to get that sorted now at the dealers expense.

  3. guys, ive had my vrs for 2 weeks now and whilst cleaning it last weekend i noticed a circular patch on the black roof that appears as though the lacquer has come off???

is the best thing to do to take it to the dealer, or are they gonna claim ive had bird crap there or something??

I had a similar circular patch on my rear door, although it wasnt like the lacquer was comeing off more like the paint jet nozzle had blocked when spraying the panel. i went straight back to the garage and they booked it in with their paint shop / repair centre and its now sorted all under warrenty. bill came to £580. Made them take my car on a transport to and from the repair/paint centre.

You'l have no problems getting it sorted, just an annoyance you wont have your car for a few days.

  4. So your saying when you get up to 7th gear in drive put the leaver into trip tonic mode and the mpg goes up.........Strange

yeh, i did the same journey averaged 33.8mpg with it in drive and then in trip tonic i got 39.8mpg over 109.9miles. like i said it might just be because the engine is wearing in but at the time using the trip tonic whilst on the motorway my mpg was alot better.

  5. ive notice abit of hesitation but i just assumed is the hill hold, i dont consider it a problem, just let of the brake earlier than raising the clutch on a manual before pulling out.

semi related: Ive noticed if i drive on long motorway journeys and knock the gear level over to the left my mpg improves. might just be that the engine is wearing in and the mpg is improving because of this.

  6. The delivery times (let alone build dates) seem alot longer for the estate version. Perhaps Skoda didnt realise how popular they would be?

My hatch was ordered 21-12-10 arrived at the dealership 1-03-11.

i thought i had to wait ages, i was starting to loose the excitment of ordering a new car. Hope you guys can keep the faith,

  7. had cruise control on my mk1 hardly used so i avoided. I usedt to drive with one hand on the gear knob in the mk1 but wouldnt be the same in the mk2 to so i went for the armrest, right little treat, glad i ordered it.

Hope you dont get fed up with the wait, Enjoy the beast when it arrives.

Im yet to see a Fabia vRS estate in the flesh.

  8. i had a look at a black monte carlo at the dealership yesterday, i wasnt as impressed as i was expecting :| Still looks smart, just more from a distance than up close.

I dont like the arch extentions appearing like clip ons, oh why couldnt they just flare the archs abit???

Theres afew options missing from the standard specification i would have to put on (Curtain Airbags, ESP and possibly the TPM (total of £825* incl VAT)) before any others :S

  9. Turbo Lottery, it could be you! unlucky mate,

Mine has just done over 70k, orignal turbo, all seems fine, its off on friday to a new owner aswel, il miss her. Turning the car on i do get a puff of smoke but i assume this is normal with a Diesel?

Turbo Failure related: My mate came to me yesterday and said his mondeo TDCi was sounding like a Police car, directed him to some forums and abit of google searching resulted in a sleepless night for him.

  10. post 17 in this link states the exact smae thing. DSG becomes lazy if its driven lazy. if its driven hard, it adapts

Good Link Janner_Sy* (my bad)

I’m picking my RS up on Friday,

can I expect a bit of this hesitation from pulling away with a brand new car with DSG? :S

Sounds like not everyone has experienced, I wonder, it should go away after some mileage ?

  11. 'Auric Goldfinger' ,

Im not sure what tyres were on the fabia i test drove, it was happy with it hence ordering one.

have you been fortunate to have a blast with the different type of tyre? did you notice any major differences of ride quality, grip and all those lovely assoicated features between the Dunlops and Cont's?

  12. My vRS has arrived at the dealership, had a quick look round it and noticed its came with Continental Contact tyres and chrome alloys (as ordered). Another vRS delivered on the same day had Dunlop Sports on with black alloys.

Is it just pot luck which tyres you get or is there a link to what type of alloy you opt for?
