Glad to see someone in the community wound up with it. I was really sad to see it go. And to top it all the house sale fell through, so I never needed to sell it! Argh!

Hello everyone. Lots of inquiries about car, as it - in my opinion - one of the very best out there. It was sold this morning to the first guy to come up with the cash. Sorry about that. Deek.

It's still got the the original headunit in it. The screen you can see is just a satnav that's mounted into a switch blank (I've got nice fresh ones waiting to go in to return the dash to stock). You can see the ciggie lighter cable, which is routed through the central console and up behind the headunit to power the satnav. The "thing" on the floor behind the passenger seat is just a bicycle computer that I'd lost when I took the photos - I found it when I reviewed them!

YES! It's that very car. Bought as new from a dealer in Inverness by a guy who lived there for two weeks, then drove to Luton (one hell of a commute!!) to work there for two weeks, and so on. He really wanted number 777 (hence the registration) because he worked on those, but had to settle for 747. I bought it direct from him at six months old with 6k on the clock. I guess he didn't get on with it for some reason. It's been fantastic for me. Amazingly small world, this. Do you want to buy it back? Make me an offer.

Yes it would be a 57 plate. I would get that organised if the buyer doesn't want the VRS one. It's had the VRS one on it from first registration. Interested? I really don't want to sell it but I need the cash for a house purchase. It was a choice between selling this or the Lupo GTI. The Lupo won!

FOR SALE Skoda Fabia VRS SE (#747 of 1000) This is a chance to own one of the very last Mk1 VRSs produced (registered 24 September 2007). The car has been lovingly owned by an enthusiast who has treated it with respect. It has served faultlessly as a daily commuting vehicle running back and fore between Glasgow and Edinburgh day in day out without missing a heartbeat. Always maintained and well looked after, this car has not wanted for servicing. A new job and relocation to the Midlands means it’s just not needed any more. Will come with 12 months MOT and 12 months tax. As it has spent all of its life (near enough) on the motorway, there are some chips to the front bumper and bonnet but that’s to be expected. Well, he didn't bother to return my call. Maybe that says it all. I'll be back there tomorrow though as they messed up the service record. So if he's there I'll try to catch him.

I've got my SE in for a service at the local VW dealer atm. Got a call from one of their sales guys offering to value it while it was in. May as well see what he says for cash only.

I have mine plugged into the ciggie lighter, then an ciggie lighter extension lead takes it under the central console, on the passenger side. The tomtom (navigon in my case), then plugs into the extension lead which is tucked up behind the central console (in the area of the airbag module). The lead then navigon's power lead then come up behind the stereo to poke out a switch blank with the corner filed off. The switch blank next to it is completely taken out and the navigon's mount adapted to fit into the hole. It works *really* well, isn't visible and no wire tapping required.

I had a 9N 2002 Polo before my (MK1) Fabia. The Skoda is *miles* better screwed together than the Polo ever was. Even though they're basically the same car, production in the Ukraine vs. Spain makes one hell of a difference.

The grumpy service manager has been MIA from Parks for months now. Anyway, just before Christmas, I booked the car into to have the wheels swapped front to rear. Yes I know that's not something a dealer should be involved in, but it was -3, the car was filthy and the rears always seize onto the hubs no matter how much copperslip I use. I was fully expecting to pay around £20 for half an hour's labour, only to be told "no charge." So more kudos for this dealer from me.

My VRS (MK1, second hand) came with a set in the boot! Depsite having had snow here since the end of November, I actually had to break them out just yesterday. All the roads were clear, except for the car parks where I work. They are fantastic. They got me through a good 6 or 7 inches in exactly the same place I got stuck last year when I left them in the garage. Although they're easy to put on and remove, it is incredibly messy to do so - you'll need to carry a towel with you so you can wipe yourself down...

I was there first: I think it looks *fantastic* (but I had to take the film off for the MOT and haven't got hold of more stuff, yet. Too much to do...)

My 9N Polo used to Moo. But it was the vent pipe on the petrol tank and very obviously came from the back of the car...
