  1. It's worth considering this Dashcam: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LLH9E84/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There is a current promotion (that you have to opt into on Amazon) which brings the price down to £41.99 It features in the top ten of recent Dashcam comparison reviews with top features being wide angle and handles well at night. It is fairly small too.
  2. Many congratulations. We went to Cuba last year for our honeymoon. Definitely take sterling with you. Your hotel wiill be able to exchange these for you at the reception desk. Hope you have a lovely time - try and see some of the country
  3. The insurers would still pay for the third party costs/compensation. The insured would not received any payout for their vehicle if the mods would have meant the insurance company they are with would not have insured the car in the first place.
  4. I got in my car this morning and pulled off the drive, applied the handbrake which has suddenly become very stiff to take off. The car is driven daily with normally two or three journeys and have never had any problems with the handbrake. It is normally on a flat drive overnight and stored in first gear and the handbrake off. I drove the car on three separate occaisions at different times of the day yesterday and all was working perfectly. I left the car overnight in first gear with the handbrake off, as normal. Then when I drove the drive this morning the handbrake has become very stiff as above. Is this a major issue, or do I need to apply some lubrication somewhere (on the car!)? The main issue is that I am planning on driving down to Cambridge tonight and don't have time to get to a garage before I go. Cheers, Andy
  5. The only film I can think of is "V for Vendetta"? Good film too. If it's not the right one, get it anyway
  6. Will the washer fluid still go through the headlight washer lines even though the fuse has been taken out? Basically what is the fuse for: ~ is it to stop the washer arm from moving out but the fluid will still go through, or ~ does it stop all washer action - both mechanical and liquid It's just a thought, i don't intend on changing the way my washers work - they're great when you have a group of people near the front of the car!!!
  7. I've got a year old L&K with 17" wheels and the fuel consumption is very similar to the figures you have quoted above.
  8. Cheers, Gilesk. I wondered why I couldn't find it off the M62.
  9. Looks pretty good - you now need to amend your sig to match your amended spec list
  10. Does this mean that the only good thing about the car is the suspension because you can play with it?
  11. I have a strange compulsion to go out to find one in a local garage just so that I can have a play - I have never had the opportunity and it feels like my life is not complete now!
  12. Is she mentally stable? I don't mean to ask personal questions on about your friends, but if I was constantly hitting my head I wouldn't be laughing!! :P
  13. Who needs enemies when you can have a friend like you?!?! :D
  14. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. We had to have our dog, Mac, put down earlier this year due to tumours all over his bladder and we felt the best option for him was not to attempt treatment and subsequently prolong the pain. It sounds like you made the best decision, albeit one of the hardest. I understand the emptiness that's there when you get downstairs in the morning.
  15. I've used bathroom scales a number of times with no issue - how accurate do you need it?
  16. I'd get a Lambo, but don't forget to add the optional fire extinguisher - it may come in handy due to the number spontaeously bursting into flames
  17. It all depends on how liability is decided between the insurance companies based on the information given by both parties. The no claims bonus is as it says - no CLAIMS. If the car is still drivable then it may well be best for the repairs to wait until liability is decided. If it is decided that the other party are completely at fault then you can get the repairs done completely and get a courtesy car.
  18. Glad to hear the good news. Don't forget to give her a hug from us all here, and a tasty treat when she's fully recovered.
  19. I sold my Fabia hatchback last year and I've still got the parcel shelf floating around the house. This is FREE:thumbup: to a good home - the first person to PM me. Collection only from Bradford (BD4) I'm afraid, evenings or some weekends. Andy
  20. Sorry to hear she's being kept in - hope she gets well soon
  21. Always check out your insurance cover - you do NOT want one with an annual limit - this means on the anniversary date the condition is first treated the cover for that condition expires. these are great for small vet bills like cuts and the like. But cover for any long term illness like Arthritis, Diabetes, etc would end after the 12 months is reached. Find out as much as possible and read reviews of the companies on the internet; but remember (it's the same with this forum) the vast majority of people comment when they have a problem with something. In the case of pet insurance the most common declines are due to conditions already present before the policy inception and dental exclusions. Generally pet insurance does not pay out for costs related to tooth/gum disease and these costs can get quite extensive. Also make sure you are confident in your vets - if you don't like the vets you've been to today there are many others around. Also (again) the vast majority of drugs can be bought online with a prescription from your vets - this can work out a hell of a lot cheaper - this includes flea and worming txs. Do not buy them from your local supermarket as they are nowhere near as good, hence the lower price. Finally many congratulations - dogs are wonderful pets to have. The first few days of owning a dog are the most stressful when you haven't done it before as there is a lot to think about and get used to. Give her a hug and a treat from me and have fun Any questions do ask us
