  1. Hi, We have also got a Skoda roomster 1.9tdi with 204-45-16 tyres. Would these rims work ok? Rim type 5-hole steel wheel Size 6 x 15 Bolt pattern 5 x 100.00 x 57.00 Offset 43.00 http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/skw.pl I've also emailed Skoda to ask them as well. Cheers Jlo.
  2. Good luck. I hope the other driver is found 100% at fault. You could make a claim directly to lorry drivers insurance to avoid the excess or uses the new Ensurance accident Managment service from Skoda to fight your case. https://www.insurewithskoda.co.uk/Products/Ensurance/
  3. I think the body shop will lend you a car for a fault accident but not sure if it would cost extra to insure it. Defo worth signing up or though.
  4. Hi, Just a heads up. If you visit https://www.insurewithskoda.co.uk/Products/Ensurance/ you can register your Skoda for 3 years of cover and it will mean you get your Skoda repaired at a vw group approved repairer. 'Now free to all ŠKODA customers for three years and only takes a minute to get cover! Ensurance is ŠKODA’s accident and repair cover, which works alongside your main motor insurance policy to help you if your ŠKODA is damaged in an accident or stolen. We understand that being involved in an accident and having to deal with lots of companies can be really stressful and time consuming. That’s why we’ve designed Ensurance to take care of everything for you. A dedicated claims manager will be available for you to contact 24 hours a day, they will look after the entire claim from start to finish – liaising with your motor insurer, any third parties and our ŠKODA Insurance approved repairers. They will also arrange for your vehicle to be recovered and taken to a ŠKODA Insurance approved repairer to be repaired by ŠKODA trained technicians who will only use ŠKODA parts and paints. And where possible, we make sure the repairer provides you with a courtesy car to get you back on the road.'
  5. Well I am a driving instructor and teach in a Skoda Fabia 1.4tdi. I have been very pleased with it.
  6. No it didn't i'm afraid. still not done it yet.
  7. Local indi garage quoted £325 and Skoda main dealer quoted £285 for the cambelt change which does not sound to bad. Thanks for the advice. Cheers James
  8. Just a quick question, When should the timming belt be changed on a Roomster 1.9 105hp tdi? Wifes car has done 42k and was registered March 2007. Is it due a change yet? Thanks in advance. Cheers James

  11. Hi, Just noticed that my Wifes Roomster even when warm, on start up the engine is idling at around 1300 rpm. As soon as I blip the throttle it goes down to under 1000rpm. Turn the engine on again and it is back to 1300rpm on idle. It has onnly recently started to do this. 1.9 tdi engine? Any ideas. I have read it could be water temp sensor? Thanks James
  12. Thanks. I will get the garage to have a look. Best wishes James
  13. Hi, A few weeks ago I noticed that when trying to use the rear washer on my Wifes Roomster you can here the pump spinning but no water comes out. The front washers work fine? This was before the deep freeze set in. Any ideas what it could be or where I should check if simple (I am not very mechanicaly minded) other wise I think it will be a trip to the garage. Thanks James
  14. May it was because my car is 15 months old or so (registered 31st March 09) and I bought it second hand in Jan 2010 (From a different Skoda dealer) Oh well never mind. Cheers James
  15. Hi, Just an update. Skoda turned around and said nope its fair wear and tear!!! I am not happy as I don't believe a 14 month old car should have lost so much gas. I took it to an indipendant garage who tested and refilled the car and said there was very little gas in it. They Vacume pressure tested it with a Hella Aircon machine and it did not show up any leaks and they put dye in it. So this cost me £60 but I have Ice cold aircon now just as good as any other car I have been in. If over the next few months it goes down again I will of course go straight back to Skoda as this must mean a leak! I am very disappointed that Skoda did not help. I have rung through customer services and put in complain on Wednesday but as I am a Driving instructor I needed the car fixed asap! Very annoying. Cheers James
  16. Hi, I took it to the dealer today who were very helpful. When you pull up at a junction and then move away it gives a loud hissing noice. The mechanic agreed that the aircon was not as cold as it should be and beleives the gas may be low. If its a leak it will be covered under warrantee, if not then £60 plus vat. I have asked them to put in a good will request from Skoda as I beleive that as the car was new March 2009 and covered 10k it should not need recharging this early. We will see what they say. Cheers Jlo
  17. Could be but it does sound like a compressor whoosh. If your aircond really cold. Mine JUST keeps the cabin confortable when on its coldest setting. Cheers jlo
  18. Hmm I have never heard hissing either in any other car but thhis one does make hissing sounds. Seems strange to me. Jlo
  19. Hi, What do other users make of the Aircon in the Fabia? I find it makes loits of hissing noises!!! When pulling up to a junction and pulling off and it goes colder but with the temp outside at 30 degrees today the old aircon was struggling a bit! It was blowing cool but not fridge cold. My wifes Roomster 1.9 tdi is much better aircon? I also used to have a Volvo v50 and Golf mk6 tdi and both of those had good aircon. I have also never had a hissing aircon before? Is this normal or have I got a leak or somthing? May be its just a smaller car so has a small compressor :S Cheers jlo
  20. Hi, Very minor question. Wifes Roomster had a brake light out on Saturday. Was very easy to replace. Was just suprised there was no internal 'bulb out' warning on the dash. My VW Golf has a warning light to warn if a bulb is out. and I thought that Skoka being the same group and using many of the same/similar componment would have the same? No big deal though. Cheers Jlo31
  21. Great to be able to read the long term reviews.
