Black Badging
Front and rear Velvet Red colour coordinated badges by SuperSkoda (Kopacek) fitted! Removed the original badges with the dental floss method then some glue removing stuff and Magnum wooden sticks (reasonable excuse to buy and eat a couple of Magnums...). Good news is that the boot lid for the 2021 Superb III with the S K O D A badging and no recess for the badge has exactly the same curvature as the boot lid with the recess - so the standard boot lid badge fits. I reduced the size of the locating pins as there is no where for them to locate (!) but other than that, no problem. Front:

Octavia iV 12-volt battery charging
My point was actually one regarding the charging of the 12V battery - not the HV battery charge rates..... I stand to be corrected but I was under the impression from my research (I looked at an Octavia iV vRS versus the Superb iV Sportline Plus but went for the Superb given the various reports of the Octavia Mk IV infotainment/software 'issues'...) that the 'running gear' was effectively the same between the Octavia iV and Superb iV (and the VW etc counterparts. Looking at various sites, they all claim the charge rates on the Octavia iV and Superb iV are the same as each other and quicker via a wall box than using the 13 Amp standard UK domestic power supply. Apparently, you don't get the full 3.6kW out of the standard plug socket. ŠKODA Octavia iV (2020) Charging Guide | Pod Point (pod-point.com) ŠKODA Superb iV (2020) Charging Guide | Pod Point (pod-point.com) Anyway, I'll slope back off to the Superb forum, as I was saying, I was just trying to assist with the query over the 12V battery charging query.

Octavia iV 12-volt battery charging
The deal is that the 12V battery is charged by the High Volt (HV) battery and the HV battery can be charged by the ICE (in some modes on the Superb iV which is essentially the same setup as the Octavia iV/Glof GTE/Passat GTE etc) or when plugged into the mains. There is no requirement to charge the 12V battery by itself - the car does that in the background all by itself. I think the Skoda response about a charger refers to the most efficient way to charge the HV battery (not the 12V battery) - ie a wall charger will charge at a higher rate than using the 13 amp plug/lead option.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Front and rear colour-coordinated badges ordered from SuperSkoda (Kopacek) - it has to be done. And I had dispatch notification within the hour.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Thanks for the thoughts. Personally, I don't mind the Superb and iV badges but the colour-coordinated emblems (front and rear) from SuperSkoda would work well, I reckon. Copied re the locating/centering pins - might be time for a bit of the sanding disc do remove those and possibly tweak the contact edge to take into account more or less curvature of the boot lid. I fear a SuperSkoda shop happening soon. Again.....!

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Nice job and it will work well on the Sportline Plus black/Velvet red combination. Has anyone removed the S K O D A from a Superb III and replaced the lettering with the genuine emblem? Obviously, there is no recess for the badge to sit in and I don't know if the recessed area is flat (the boot lid itself has a slight curve to it) but it might be worth a punt....

Enyaq Heat Pump Option
But VW say 'up to 40%' and that is bordering on the immeasurable, in any case. It isn't as though everyone is claiming compensation because their ICE powered (or indeed EV) vehicles don't match the manufacturer's brochure figures for range/fuel consumption....! I'm not defending the heat pump marketing hype but at the end of the day, in reality it isn't much more than that.

Enyaq Heat Pump Option
When I first looked at the Enyaq UK configurator, the heat pump was a £985 option. That was when I first noticed the bizarre ramblings from Skoda UK as to its purpose in life (the heat pump, not Skoda UK...). The price was hiked sometime later on the Enyaq UK configurator. How much of a 'virtual range extender' the heat pump is, has to be dependent on many factors. According to the ID.3 heat pump tech info ( Heat Pump | Electric Car Software & Tech | Volkswagen UK ) it says: 'Efficiency: The power requirement for heating the interior at exterior temperatures of less than 0°C is up to 40% less than in a vehicle without an energy-efficient heat pump.' So, you need to know how much battery energy (range reduction) the non-heat pump car will use to warm the car interior to a specific temperature (they don't say what it is - max heat, 20 degC or whatever) and then then having a heat pump will, in theory, use 40% less than that - and that is only when the ambient air temp is below 0 degC. In reality, in the UK, it probably isn't going to make a vast difference but as has been said, the only way to see is to run two 'identical' cars (one with, one without the heat pump) next to each other in sub zero conditions and see what happens. Still, it sounds like a good investment if you're selling heat pumps....

Mud Flaps for a Sportline Hatch…
I bought OEM front and rear mudflaps from Superskoda (Kopacek). Fit perfectly and easily. I didn't need to remove the wheels, just put the steering lock to lock for fitting the front ones. The price they charged (even with shipping) was far below the dealer UK price. Exterior : SUPERSKODA.COM (kopacek.com)

(not so) Superb Personalisation Settings
Mine was a right pain when I first got it (6 month old ex-demo). It didn't have any previous 'personalisation' so that wasn't the issue. To start off, I had to go through the hassle of waiting for it to offer the personalisation options every time the 'ignition' was switched on. Eventually, it has settled down and recognises me by name (!) on the VC every time (famous last words) I get in. I am the only diver so it doesn't have to cope with much thinking of options. For my short 4.5 mile commute, I normally leave the MIB3 in standby mode (clock showing - thanks to others on here - hold the on/off 'button' down to get it into standby. Then whenever I do switch the MIB3 on, it does now accept it is me and I'm the primary user, so all I have to do is to hit 'ok' - no options. It does feel the need to tell me I'm being stalked due to the privacy settings - which seems to happen regardless of what settings are set! So, perhaps give it a chance to settle down - it worked for me! The car remains brilliant in all other aspects.

Enyaq Heat Pump Option
Well, in my quest for heat pump equality, I emailed Skoda UK and have had zero response. However, I see the description of what the heat pump does on the Skoda UK build configurator has been updated.... Obviously, they didn't use the same translator as me - or indeed have anyone who has mastered the English language, do the proof reading. Is it really that difficult?! PS I don't have the energy (excuse the pun) to ask them about the function of the 'highly valve battery'....

Superb iV VC Charge Arc
That all makes sense, thanks, people.

Superb iV VC Charge Arc
I'm up to speed (if you'll excuse the pun...) on the regen braking. It increases in intensity from higher cruise speeds down - from 34 mph and below it's the same as moderately heavy braking - works a treat. If you look in the first picture, the brighter blue section of the blue arc indicates the amount of regen charge (braking, or foot off the accelerator when 'B' selected in the DSG box) at that specific time. It also shows up when in Sport mode and the ICE is charging the battery. It doesn't change if you are physically braking from what I've seen. My question is why the 'base line' pale blue arc changes length depending on the state of charge of the battery.

Enyaq Heat Pump Option
I've just noticed (when emailing Skoda UK about the heat pump function for the second time) that my original link to the VW tech ID.3 heat pump info doesn't work anymore, so here's a new link: Heat Pump | Electric Car Software & Tech | Volkswagen UK I would suggest anyone having a discussion with Skoda UK sales staff over the heat pump function in the Enyaq should perhaps get them to read it. Of course, they'd need to recognise the fact that the ID.3/ID.4 are somewhat similar under the skin which might also be a surprise to some of them....

Superb iV VC Charge Arc
In my quest for understanding stuff, do any iV owners understand why the length of the blue charge arc in the Virtual Cockpit changes. Not the change in length when the battery is charging (bright blue) but the length of the non-charging (not so bright) blue line? When the battery is fully charged, the blue line is 1/3 of what it is at other times with less charge stored.

Enyaq Heat Pump Option
I had a look through the Enyaq brochure and I see the Skoda UK myth about the function of the heat pump has made it to there as well as still existing on the configurator: Personally, I find it really quite worrying that Skoda UK can't suss out what the heat pump's function is. I never got a response when I mentioned it to them first time round (or from the promised online sales rep) - perhaps I'll give it another go. It is only for my own amusement as the Enyaq is outside my budget and my Superb iV Sportline Plus is simply brilliant.

Superb: Reversing Camera Wide angle
Yup, washer jet 'button' for the camera. Seems to give a pretty comprehensive jet of water but how good it is on dried dirt remains to be seen, come the winter and muddy roads. On my Yeti, one digit was trained to automatically wipe the lens clean whenever the boot was opened - may not have to with this!
-
Superb: Reversing Camera Wide angle
If it helps, my 2020 Superb iV Sportline has the reversing camera with the wide angle option and a button to bring the camera up. Just tried it and it comes on when in 'Park'. It also has moving (with the steering) guide lines. PS I don't have the 360 degree view option but I do have Park Assist.

Dashcam fitment.
I was very pleased how it looks at the end (practice was on my previous Yeti and Citigo!) and it wasn't too much of a faff getting the wire through. The front camera wires are actually neater than it looks in the picture and the camera doesn't restrict vision at all (not of anywhere you need to look!). The rear camera can't be seen in the rear view mirror which is one of the reasons I put it to one side.
-
Dashcam fitment.
I installed front and rear Blackvue dashcams into my 2020 Superb iV. The front camera is mounted just to the left of the interior mirror/camera/sensor 'pod' and the rear camera to the righthand side of the high-level brake light. The wiring runs down the left hand A pillar, under the left hand door sill interior covers then up to the left hand C pillar, though the rubber wiring conduit into the tailgate. Mains power is provided by a piggyback fuse connector in the fusebox behind the glovebox (I can't remember which circuit!). It doesn't appear to have affected any of the electronics and the dashcams work fine, wifi to the iPhone as they should.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
It certainly worked on the Yeti (2014) - perhaps it was a different type of switch. The Yeti wasn't a touch and forget 'start' function, you held the button in to engage the starter motor. Initially I thought I'd have to do a deep strip to access it but I tried the easy option as I described and it worked fine. It's not until it returns to normal after spraying that you realise how you've been pressing harder and harder or pressing in a different way to get it to start.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
I had a similar issue with my Yeti KESSY start/stop button a couple of times over the 7 years and 90k miles I had the car. I didn't need to dismantle anything apart from carefully prising the chrome ring out from around the start/stop button then giving a good spray of electrical cleaner in where the ring sits. Worked a treat and a 5 minute job.

Columbus Clock Display
Today I tried digifish's 'hold the on/off button for a while' and as if by magic, the clock appeared. This was whilst on the road, works in both ICE and in EV mode. It even then appeared when I got home and switched everything off and back on again, the screen went into standby mode as the car was powered up.. With the 'show clock when screen goes blank after 10 seconds' ticked - it still shows a blank screen with no clock but at least the clock is there and I know how to find it. Thanks again to all that commented - my quest has been fulfilled!

Columbus Clock Display
Thanks, I've tried ticking (and unticking!) all the options for the clock by the standby screen just remains blank.

Superb iV
I double checked but not an option on a 2020 Columbus but thanks anyway. You can still get an address in, as the 'search' options narrow it down pretty quickly but just not in what has become the conventional way by starting with a postcode. My very first Columbus was in my first Yeti back in 2010 and that wouldn't allow a full postcode to be put in (it was restricted to 4 or 5 letters/digits) but software update cured that.
