  1. Rims are actually Audi A3 alloys (8P0601025A 205/55 R16), with the VAG 5x112 pattern, so will fit some Skoda models.

Mine were on my Octavia MkIII before I sold it, used them in the winter to protect my good alloys.

Tyres are Pirelli Cinturato P7 (205/55 R16) with decent amount of tread left (more on the rears than the fronts) - tread depth shown in pics.

Generally good condition with a few superficial scratches/marks (that have been touched-up, so no bare metal), as shown in pics.

I tried to get representative shots of the blemishes but somehow made them look worse than they are in real life 🙄

One of the rims (wheel 3 iirc) is more or less perfect condition.

    £120 for the set.

    NOW SOLD!

  2. Octavia mkIII wing mirror covers - left & right

Octavia Mark III (5e) wing mirror covers (top part) - standard white

Replaced the wing mirror covers on my Octavia mk III (hatch) with black ones a while back, so these are no longer needed.

They are used and so show a few small chips/scatches. Colour is standard gloss white (not the metallic white).

    £10 inc. delivery.

  3. DTE Chiptuning - Pedal Box

    DTE Chiptuning - PedalBox

Had this on car for couple of years, very pleased with the extra responsiveness this gives because of boosted throttle signal. Completely transforms the way the car drives. Selling car now, so this is up for sale.

All original packaging and installation instructions and holder/sticky pads etc.

Had this hidden in driver's cubby the whole time so condition is perfect.

Will fit cars same as mine which was Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI mark III (5e) - 2.0 TDI CR DPF 110 kW.

Yours delivered for £60 (paypal payment preferred).

    Open to offers ;)

  4. To be fair the OP didn't ever ask "what people thought", was just showing people what he's done. If people don't have anything positive to say then don't say anything. There's nothing to be gained from saying "I see what you've done and I don't like it". Who cares if you don't like it. I'm always interested to see what people do to mod their cars, some I like some I don't. If I don't, I just move on, simples.

There are many diesel owners who will never see that kind of economy even when they try…!

ECO mode will only aid you to improve fuel economy even in a DSG (coasting instead of staying in gear will only give marginal benefits).

The only real difference comes from how you use your feet…. Light on the acceleration, steady to cruise, anticipant the trafic so reduce the need to brake, etc

Not so ... 75 mpg for me on an "Eco" run :)

Thanks mate,  some of the skoda  factory ideas seem way out to me lol....... like why only put rear mudflaps on as a standard skoda thing lol then like on mine have black everything except the badges lol.... why :D

I know I spend so much time in my car I want it to look right – even though I can't see it from the inside 😉.

How do these compare to the Goodyear Asymmetric 5 or Michelin Crossclimate+ for noise? Difficult to get opinions and I'm going back and forth trying to get the quietest tyres..

No personal experience but these are the figures from Autobild Tyre roundup: https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2019-Auto-Bild-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm

Blimey, maybe you should have gone for the Falken Ziex ZE-914B Ecorun. Fuel C and even quieter at 67dB

Ha, yes, I did consider those but went with better stopping power, grip etc. in the end. I do a 90 mile daily commute on the road of death aka A34 in Oxfordshire.

Actually looking the spec of the Ecoruns they are the same "E" rating as the Azenis (E, A, 69db), so maybe not that much better in terms of mpg.

  9. Just put on some new tyres, Falken Azenis FK510, and road noise (and vibration) is greatly reduced. Now the noise I can hear in the cabin is mainly wind noise around pillars. It's early days but car also feels more planted and haven't been able to spin the wheels yet. So overall I'd say a good change of tyres. This is on (new) 18" rims with 225/40/R18 tyres.

  10. Assume you've got the 2.0 TDI, cracking engine, responds well to tuning and still gives 60-70mpg depending on how heavy your right foot is. My only grip was the poor throttle response but PedalBox sorted that out 😁. One more thing, when I got mine it had never been to a Skoda garage for service so had several outstanding recalls/updates which the garage did the first time I had it serviced (free of charge).

  11. I've just bought some Falken Azenis FK510 in 18" (£60 a corner) which are rated 69dB. Not got them on car yet but I can let you know how I get on noise-wise if you're not in a hurry. But road noise is an issue with this car, no matter what tyres you have on, or what rims for that matter. I went from 18" (Golus) to 16" to see if that made a difference but it did not. Going back to 18" (in black) now because I like the look better. Gonna keep the 16" as winter wheels.

As an aside - I gave an older model custom motor bike (with a GPS digital speedo with all the clever measuring functionality) this same 0-60 and 1/4 mile treatment and then limped home with broken flywheel bolts.

    Not a pretty sight.

Are you saying my car will break if I try and do 0-60 as fast as the car was designed to go?
