  1. I have the official one. Indeed the lip isn't that deep, but I guess it depends what you want it to do. If there is dirt, sand etc in the boot, I can carefully remove the liner, shake and replace and it leaves the boot all clean. It also protects the overall finish. If you're planning on building sandcastles, you'll probably want something a little deeper
  2. I updated mine last week. I left the maps updating and then popped in the house, when I got back to the car, the Columbus was off. Switched it on, assumed the update had finished, took out SD Card - grumble from unit that I'd removed the card too soon. Put card back in, update completed, all good. Wouldn't call it "clever", it just did what it was supposed to do.
  3. I love these threads - I mean, quite often I'll be walking through a carpark and I'll jab the missus in the ribs "Look at that car over there, drum brakes on the back - say what!" Then we get a little closer and it'll be like "No way man, they are actually discs" and then we're looking around for more people near by that we can tell. I mean, go for it - a very tiny part of my head does understand the thought process. However at the same time all I'm seeing is a lot of expense to appease your own view (because really, others are not commenting) and the potential to spoil the rear/front brake bias. That of course is no joking matter under heavy braking.
  4. I've been reading through this thread, looking for the updates etc. Just for my own sanity, this isn't a Skoda Dealership is it? The company that have done the work are an independent? Or an Authorised Skoda repair centre? It's just obviously from the thread title it's reading as "Skoda UK main dealership have completed some work, part has failed, potentially due to it not being fitted correctly - engine now damaged and they are refusing to pay out". Couldn't quite be sure if that was misleading or not
  5. This is a post from the past I spent a long time going through my library, running my music "album-by-album" through Mp3tag - on each occasion I would select all the tracks, remove any album art, save, then drag & drop my new album art, save again. I've not run into a single issue yet on my Columbus. What I will say is that cache files appear to be created on the SD Card. I have found that if I've added to my main SD Card a number of times, say I've added 5-6 albums since I first copied my entire library over, sometimes things would get "out of sync". I then found the easiest fix was to format the SD Card again and just copy my entire library over again.
