  1. Siamp fill valve repair video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM25pswbqmQ . You may find it "cheaper" to get a new valve than chase around trying to locate spares. I needed a new Siamp flush button and I think the flush valve + button was £3 more than the button! Siamp have an online shop and are also on Amazon - there were price differences.
  2. Is the radiator core alloy? - If it had a similar level of corrosion I'd walk away. Attached are 2 photos of my "16 plate" 2.0 TDI with 31k miles. One of the radiator through the grill and second one replicating the OP's photos. I wonder if the root cause is pressure washer detergent applied at low pressure but not washed off - any "exterior" alloy parts without corrosion? - under the engine cover?
  3. @A1cos Dowload manuals here http://manual.skoda-auto.com/210/en-GB/Model/Superb_3V Note the selection of production year at top of page
  4. Did the same in March this year and absolutely no sign of corrosion.
  5. Had the problem 2 years ago. In my case there was too much grease in the latch mechanism. The grease retained pockets of water that on freezing provided sufficient friction to stop the latch moving freely. I presume you can easily move it with finger pressure. I used some "copy WD40" with a thin tube on the spray nozzle to wash away the grease. My only concern was if the lubricant would affect any rust proofing inside the door but I took the risk. Problem hasn't recurred. Pain to diagnose since I never experienced it when de-icing the car first thing in the morning but only after driving - first time it happened was after driving for 5 minutes!
  6. Photo from last year 1/2 way through fitting winter wheels. 17" front and 19" rear
  7. Is this the equivalent https://www.lasertools.co.uk/product/6987 ? "Oil filter drain tool for Volkswagen, Audi vehicles (from 2005) with 2.0/2.5L diesel engines. Additional Information Application: Volkswagen and Audi models fitted with 2.0/2.5L diesel engines (from 2005) Prevents oil leakage when changing the oil filter 2000mm Hose 6pt Connector" Hits on ebay for "Laser 6987 Oil Filter Drain Tool " around £25
  8. Or the fuel jet for the auxilliary heater - OP in Russia??
  9. I believe you can get a steel plate with an attached hinged "D" ring that fits under the seat rail and held in place by the seat rail screw passing through a hole in the plate. Something like this: See https://axkid.com/uk/product/attachment-loops/ and this on facebook
  10. I think the situation will change shortly and the signal boosters will be available again (and reconnected where they had been disabled ??). Ofcom had a consultation that ended on 5 Sept "Notice of proposal to make the Wireless Telegraphy (Mobile Repeater) (Exemption) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 Technical changes for in-vehicle mobile phone repeaters". Ofcom appear to support the changes and say: "This means that the earliest we anticipate that the amendments to IR 2120 may be implemented is October 2019" Quoting from the document (https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0026/155726/consultation-wireless-telegraphy-regulations.pdf ) "In October 2018, Ofcom was approached by an equipment supplier of low gain mobile phone repeaters used in the manufacture of European cars. They formally requested Ofcom to consider making changes to the technical conditions contained in IR 2102.2 and provided technical evidence supporting the request."
  11. I had superb L&K 4x4 wheel alignment checked at local VW dealer. Hunter alignment kit. No mention of any re-calibration of any "driver assist" electronics. Very confident of mechanics competency - came to reception to find me because the tyre wear wasn't consistent with the pre-adjustment alignment readings and suspected " tyres swapped round" ! Other than a front suspension height change adjusting the front suspension does not require any re-calibration. The steering angle input to the "systems" is from the "steering wheel" therefore if the steering wheel hasn't been removed and re-fitted in a new position and is still "straight ahead" after alignment the steering angle is unchanged - years ago it was very common for garages to adjust the tracking on one track rod end only and throw the steering wheel alignment out . Hunter video with a better explanation than mine Center Steering Wheel - Hunter Engineering
  12. I press the microphone icon, say "cancel" and back comes the radio sound. I would guess I first had the problem a year ago and at first did the "unplug, re-plug" routine. A few months back I had about a around 2 weeks where plugging in the phone started Google Maps with no Menu> Android>Maps on Columbus display - a sadly missed bug.
  13. I thought I was posting the definitive list of events that require recalibration
  14. Of course the garages read the workshop manual:
  15. The picture in the w/shop manual isn't clear but it indicates that the pink screws are at the extreme edges of the gauge cluster just outside the edges of the pictures.
  16. See this thread Adblue Issue . I think the most common solution was a software update or new ECU/EMU (same thing???). My summary is that there are a lot of posts about dealers "messing about" with the Adblue tank and pump/injection system before the software solution is implemented
  17. Some models have a top to the insulated (thermal) box that the battery sits in that covers the +ve terminal. This thread relates to it but has no definitive answer.
  18. There may be a fundamental issue with the phone. The phone may not be certified by Google and core "Google" functions may not be available. An internet search shows later models from Meizo/Flyme are certified but I found nothing on your model. One indication of certification is the phrase "powered by Android" at the bottom of the screen when the phone is started - I don't know if this applies across all versions of Android. This post may be relevant https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-software-development/solved-bt-problem-meizu-6-pro-plus-t3911156
  19. Really p*ssed off with Skoda - suggestions as to any possible further action. It seems that the MOT requirements can be summarised as "OK if the braking performance meets minimum standard and discs look like there is no excessive wear". I'd love to know what the rear brake performance is in an emergency stop with soaking wet discs - lots of pits to hold water that can boil off and steam lubricate the friction surfaces. The pictures below are my old 25k mile rear discs. At the last service on 14/1/2019 at 23.3k miles the "Vehicle Health Check" advised that "Rear Disc/Drums Condition" as "Visually OK" . I raised the issue of the rear disc condition when booking the service and when dropping the car off. Skoda's servicing schedule doesn't involve removing the wheels - is this acceptable? Inside faces Outside faces Finally - the "paint" finish on the replacement Brembo discs
  20. Purpose of the "bag" extracted from VW Self Study pdf for the EA288 Diesel Engine Family. Interestingly the diagram shows the silica bag is in a dedicated tube and in this case doesn't look like it can be removed Coolant Expansion Tank with Silicate Repository The coolant expansion tank contains a silicate repository. Silicate is used to protect the aluminum components in the coolant system from corrosion. There are silicates in the G13 coolant, but they are used up over time if the engine is subject to high thermal loads. To compensate for the silicate consumption, silicate is taken from the repository and added to the coolant. The silicate repository provides additional protection against corrosion for the aluminum components in the coolant system over the entire lifespan of the engine.
  21. Forums report that "Mit silca" is embossed on the header tank if there is a "bag" Video on removal of the bag here 2018 VW GTI SE Ep. 70: Silica Bag Removal from Coolant Overflow Tank
  22. @Linox This thread on the Google Play product support looks like it is your issue but it "dies" in late 2018. Ignore the "Huawei" in the title, it roams across many phones and I saw Golf and Kodiak posts. Might be worth starting a new thread - getting to the end of a thread is so slow that people might not read your post. Huawei devices - No sound when playing music
  23. Assuming you are using an Android phone. I don't use any form of "phone music" therefore no expert . Suggest you search Google's Play and Android Auto forums to see if there's any similar problems ( https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!home ) - if it was Amundsen related I'd have thought there would be many posts on this forum. Off the top of my head, have you looked at: Phone Bluetooth settings - AFAIK "music" via Bluetooth isn't supported on Android Auto - insufficient bandwidth. I think I've seen a message that Bluetooth is being disabled when connecting phone on Columbus. If you have Developer Options enabled in phone settings then there is a switch under "Media" that disables USB Audio Routing
  24. VW training document at https://www.scribd.com/doc/146998344/SSP426-Start-Stop-System-2009 details the operation.
  25. I had my Superb 4x4 alignment checked last year by a VW dealer (around £90) and no ACC alignment. The mechanic contacted me to query if wheels had been swapped round - the tyre wear not consistent with his initial readings and wanted to confirm if a recent front/rear swap had been made (yes) so I'm pretty confident he was competent. AFAIK ACC alignment is only required if the sensor or the cross member its mounted on is disturbed or a significant adjustment to the rear toe in. Just done a search for the "rules" and found this on a Golf7 forum "so went to Mr Tyre group down the road (and opposite a VW main dealer) and he sad no problem doing it. He also told me they do them for the dealer as well". Found this again for a Golf at http://www.vwgolf.org/adaptive_cruise_control-2030.html Re-adjustment is required: Rear axle toe setting has been adjusted. The adaptive cruise control unit -J428- has been removed and reinstalled, The front bumper support has been removed and installed. The front bumper support has become loose or has been moved. The misalignment angle is greater than –0.8° to +0.8°.
