  1. Cheers all, been a while since I've been on! I am indeed from Omagh in NI.

The car was brought back to standard a out a year ago and sold. Currently in a mkv GTI golf, and I've been badly bitten by the power bug!

So yeah, been a long time since that car has looked like that. :p but cheers for all the kind comments.

  2. On Friday night i was sitting in a car park with the car turning over. Next thing there was this noise which almost sounded like a belt slipping or something, really odd noise. It kept coming in two or three second intervals.

A steamy/smoky cloud then started emerging from under the bonnet. There were four of us in the car, and when the cloud came into the car (windows were down) it nearly choked us, was definetly a gas of some kind.

Anyway, turned the car off. Turned it back on and lifted the bonnet. Waited a few minutes and the noise and gas started again. Figured then that it had to be the air con if it was gas coming out. Turned it off and have had no bother since.

What the feck is wrong though? Absolutely nothing wrong with the car otherwise, but i'm a little worried about a gas leak into the car or something.

    Any info advice appreciated.:)

  3. Just exactly how mine looked with the porsche twists? Well for the headlights i always maintain youll need the biggest sheet. It allows for mistakes!

Fogs, probably the second or third smallest, i ordered the biggest sheet of yellow at the time as i also done the headlights, then redone the headlights dark and kept the yellow fogs, so i'm not sure on that one tbh.

As for the rears, i have no idea tbh. I'd probably just advise the biggest sheet again!

    HTH!

  4. okay re phrase it there should be different classes one for new cars one for older cars one for cars brought on the back of a trailer and one that have been driven ( not just the 100 yards from the trailer lol)

    is that better lol

p.s if i go buy a new car throw some bbs splits on it i couldnt say i would be happy winning the prize when people go through so much to get there car to show winning standard to then lose to a guy who just stuck some wheels on>..... does that make sense??

Anyone can put together a car, new or old. Its making it look show worthy thats the trick.

Plus i would bet my life that there wasnt a single mk2 or mk1 or the like indoors at UD that hadnt had a respray or a lot of touching up.

  5. At that ride height? Exactly as pictured? I think not. He wouldnt have got on/off the ferry/train.

Is there something about the concept of air suspension you dont understand?

And i definetly wouldnt have called that octavia a fail, i just would say the superb was better.

  6. imo it should have been between the favia vrs black and the superb on bentleys mile ahead of the others

p.s that gold thing is truly shocking

not sure about the red one

    the estate isnt really specail

the black fabia looks the nuts very nice car love it and the superb looks so good on bentleys well done to you 2 for the 2 best skoda's for sure feck where the trophy went they aint got a clue

    Cheers mate, really appreciate that.

Here are my photos from the show:

    Ultimate Dubs 2010.

    Enjoy!

PS: Nice to meet you guys in person, Jason and Black Evo. Cheers.

Those are among the best pics ive seen so far mate, fair play.

  7. Right, quick update.

    Bumper smoothed -

And gottis trial fitted at the front.

    HPIM1092Medium.jpg

    HPIM1093Medium.jpg

Ignore the way they sit on the car, it was more to check offsets etc. The adapters havent arrived yet, and its a good thing i trialled them, as i realised i need a few mm taken off the back of the fronts. The car sits exactly as i want it to without adapters, and the adapters are 16mm!(N)

    More updates soon.

  8. You will probably find that the driveshafts will meet the subframe first!

Oh and your right, poke is where its at:

    Image0176.jpg

    Get updated pics up!

Notched the chassis when the air went in dude, so shouldnt be a problem.

The As were the only rims i didnt like on that car, but it sat close to perfect.

  9. Sorry for the lack of updates! Havent been on in weeks!

You doing any shows in England this year? Always liked this car and looking forward to seeing it on the air and gottis.

Yup, managed to get an indoor spot at Ultimate Dubs and will be doing edition too.

conor........looks the nuts mate, i actually like the cheaper wheels you put on, really suit the car.is the c/c grille easy to fit? i got an octy in black but im sure the process is similar.

I painted the grill, you cant get them out of the factory. The grill itself is really easy to take off.

Did you remove the headlights to lamin-x them?

Or fit it whilst on the car?

Looks like a great finish on those headlights.

    Easy to fit??

Didnt remove them no, and i found it reasonably easy to fit, although if you make a mistake there isnt really a second go, as such.

Just make sure the headlight is uber clean, and stick it down with the provided scraper tiny little bits at a time!

    thats gonna hurt :giggle::giggle::rofl:

    Lol, was waiting for that.

To be fair, i would never have gotten 17 7.5js as above, as i dont really like them, so i made a point of getting wide 16s. Plus he had mad tuck, im going for mad poke. And i dont know why people seem to think air is copyrighted to whoever done it first!

Anyway, my car will look very different to the above when finished, although i have to admit i was a tad devastated when i saw someone else had put my dream wheels on a fab first!lmao

Anyway, air went in on friday night! Still waiting on the adapters for the gottis, but if my calculations are correct, the car should be laying the sub frame on the ground when fully down on the gottis!:D

I'll keep the thread updated anyway, cheers for all the comments!:)
