  1. Ok, thanks. Was wondering about that. It seems that the little clip that holds the plug together is under a lot of strain, so will remove the seal , just apprehensive without asking. Thanks for your quick reply. Obliged
  2. Should the plug that connects to the rear central locking be so hard to connect. Lot of force needed to push the fitting to get it to click in position.?? Thanks
  3. Hi , does anyone know how to test the rear near side electric connection to central locking on Fabia 1 2006 1.9tdi? Also, the plug connector is extremely tight to connect , is there a new connecting plug that I could fit without replacing loom. Thanks in anticipation.
  4. Yes, been looking around. The cheaper ones are around £30 ish, but with the effort to get at it to take it off, makes you think that it should be a proper replacement. Have been using the part number that you kindly gave me, made the search easier, thanks.... Think I will have to buy the £100+ one as taking it in to the garage would probably cost more like £300 with labour charges. Thanks again.
  5. Not out yet. Making sure to get proper unit before starting. Cheers
  6. Thanks very much. Bit of a minefield trying to avoid poor "copies".👍👍
  7. Could anyone tell me the correct door lock to purchase please. Skoda Fabia 1 2006 build 1.9tdi. Rear passenger near side door lock with central locking. There seems a few cheap ones about, not sure. Thanks again
  8. Hi. How do I change the front fog lamp bulb on Fabia 1 2007, round type lamp. Thanks
  9. Thanks for that. I will try and check parts numbers, although delivery rate is a bit steep. Much obliged for your help
  10. Thanks again for your quick reply. You see your nut covers are 12mm /18mm respectively where mine are 15mm/20mm respectively. This is my problem ,the ones I am being sent are too short and generally too tight as you can see from the difference in measurements. It's a real pain, I have been trying for months. I even considered buying full wheel trims to cover the whole wheel but not too sure on what they would look like against my alloys. Thanks for your replies.
  11. Thanks. Could you tell me the length of the covers that you show (321 601 173) please. Mine are 20mm overall length with 16mm that actually fits nut. I realise the should be tight, but all the ones I have been sent are too tight to push on... Mine push on and seem to click in place. Obliged
  12. Hi. Nuts are 17mm. Manufactures codes (vw/audi) are 1Z0601173 for nuts covers and 8D0601173E for lock nut covers. The ones people send me are either (17 mm nut) too tight , too short or both. The lock nut caps that are sent are usually too big, just fall off. I found someone who had 4 lock nut covers, which had right number on them, and were classed as 'old' model, but they mysteriously got 'lost' in the post. Thanks
  13. Could anyone tell me why I can't find the wheel nut caps and locking wheel nut caps to fit my car. The item codes are 17mm ordinary nut cap 1Z0601173 and the locking nut cap is 8D0601173E.? I have sent for many sets, all claiming to fit my car but none do. The car was bought new, no wheel modifications. Thanks
  14. My spring loaded petrol filler flap, under the plastic petrol filler cap, has fallen into the tank. Will it cause a problem or how can I gain access to tank to retrieve the metal flap. Thanks
  15. The hinged cap under the fuel filler cap, has fallen into the tank when I put in the nozzle to fill up with fuel. Will it cause a problem and how can I gain access to the tank to retrieve it?

  16. Post tech question

  17. Hi. The small hinged metal cap, under the fuel filler cap, has fallen into the tank when I put the nozzle in to fill up. Can anyone tell me if this will block the fuel line and is there any access to the tank to retrieve the cap?. I was also wondering if there was any sort of filter in the fuel filler neck that may have caught the cap? Thanks, any help appreciated
  18. Does anyone know how to remove lower half of dash on a 2007 Fabia to allow access to convenience module. I have taken out all the visible screws but it appears to be held in one place just to the right of the steering column. Thanks.
  19. Thanks. Looks like a serious wiring trace required before I spend on new unit.
  20. I have been offered a garage diagnostics for £35 on a BOSCH system. Do you think that it would show exactly what the fault is as some members say that the diagnostics on Vag.com didn't show a fault with cars with the same problem. Much obliged.
  21. P.S. to my reply below. You wouldn't actually know what it is in the unit that responds to a 'reset'??????
