My 2007 1.2HTP started idling rough, I at first blamed it on E10 petrol, then on morning really bad and I suspected an air leak so my first suspect was the servo vacuum pipe which I wiggled and imagine my shock when it broke off at the inlet manifold with just the slightest movement. On inspection and replacement I found the whole pipe brittle at servo end and both sides of the non return valve. My car only covered 70K miles but my advice to everybody with a plastic servo pipe of any age is to REPLACE IT . Car idles and run a lot better now and MUCH SAFER.

Double check the servo vacuum pipe at the manifold end, I had same problem and fault code

P.S I know an old weak battery can trigger steering sensor warning light (which has previously done) yet despite being 7yrs old it cranks the engine over fast and starting has never been a problem altough lights do dim on tick over.

My mil light and epc came on, checked brake lights as sticky they were ok, then first the epc went off and then the mil light. I decided to scan fault codes with vcds, first problem was vcds did not recognise can bus using auto detect so I set manually to Skoda Fabia 2 and it connected,surely it should have auto detected? Miele, 10 yr warrantee, built like a tank, weighs a ton,quiet,turbine smooth (might disappoint some females used to sitting on a Hotpoint) and consistently top performer for cleaning according to Which magazine. Works out cheap in the long run.

Is it possible/ advisable to remove the coil pack, for spark plug change, without the special VW tool, if so how do you?

My wife's Fabia has been involved in a minor accident, what right have I to insist on OEM parts as it involves the front wing and a cheap pattern part might not be the same high strength steel so my not offer the same protection in an accident, also I've heard some repairers use salvage parts.

Is there anywhere a step by step guide to changing the sidelight bulbs on a Fabia 2? Also I can't get any of the links in other posts to work ,just getting error cannot be found.

Looking under the bonnet of my wife's Mk2 fabia 1.2htp I noticed the battery is "berried" under the fuses. 1: How easy is it to change? 2: After changing will radio need recding or any ECU resetting? 3: Some posts say change with key in ignition & on, I've always had everything off when changing a battery. Finally is there a step by step guide posted anywhere?

I thought the 5 in 5J was the rim section i.e 5 inches in this case

my 57 model has started to lose one, plus now i check them on every fabia i see and lots of 08 models don't seem to have any fitted.

I read that in the event of an accident where the airbags deploy the fuel is automatically cut off, how is it reset as you might need to move the vehicle after the accident?

where can i find out more about my 1.2 htp 3cylinder 12v engine, looking at it it looks like it would have a timing chain not a belt,has it got viable valve timing?,i see its all alloy has it coil over plugs ignition pack? things like that.
