My beard is epic at the moment. Haven't trimmed it since Sep 1st.
But it comes off tomorrow just before I bog off to Mauritius for a fortnight.
I've had a beard for over 20 years and now because they are 'in fashion'
suddenly I'm all the rage. I'm literally catching the eye of girls who I am old
enough to have fathered. That's the power of fashion.

You have a smorgasbord of disappointment and anger ahead of you.
Much of it caused by others.
In short
Estate agents - Lying ba$tards the lot of them. About as genuine as half the clothes on Dagenham market.
Don't believe any word they say about anything EVER. Commission driven parasites.
Conveyancers - Lazy overpriced golfists, which is usually where they will be found rather than dealing with your purchase
or sale. EVERYTHING is always the other sides fault and never theirs.
Surveyors - Fantasists and failed builders usually. They hide behind small print that excuses all the things they'll miss.
You can have that advice for free.

Great thread, anything that gets the blood pressure up on a few of the usual
forum safety bores is worth the effort.
Nice work Fubar

I was chased off the forum by a feminist moderator but for now at least.
I'm back

I bought a XENA disc lock for mine, it's only a deterrent though.
If they want it they'll get it.

He even said 'you won't get away from me son'.
He was gone after two corners.

Nah my examiner went home early after an old bike crash knee injury was giving him
jip, I was the second to be tested so my L partner got tested the 'proper' way but
at very short notice the extremely dour manager of the place had to conduct my test
in his private car. Miserable geet he was, didn't want to come out of his office.
Was semi expecting a fail just cos he had the hump going out in the rain.

Yeah but WHO CARES !!?!!
It's just 5p.
Jesus!

I wore a patterned lid for my test. It exaggerates the shoulder checks more
than a plain one would. Not that the examiner behind me in his Citroen Picasso thing
was anywhere to be seen for most of the test. he couldn't keep up at all.
As a result- Clean sheet pass

I think PM's can be monitered as well
If true, how very totalitarian and it reinforces my point beautifully Comrade.

I used to spend a lot of time on here but it's changed since I joined and not for the better
I'm afraid. it's become an overly moderated forum with a distinct left wing agenda.
But if you stick to the 'party' line then I've noticed you can say more or less what you want.
Any views contrary to this are usually removed by staff as it's easier to say something is
'offensive' or 'aggressive' or 'sexist' or 'racist' or any other of the buzz words of the minute which
the left have adopted in their all inclusive mantra than it is to allow a discussion to evolve.
Most of the moderators are really decent balanced people, and do a good job for which they get nothing
I could name names but I'll spare the blushes.
One or two are the type who get a kick from inflicting their will on others so much so that it must be their day
job too. This has had the effect of making on forum discussions one sided by shamelessly placating the
easily offended brigade, because of course their view is the only correct one. Impartial much?
Then there are others who use the forum for personal gain, enforcing rules about advertising things
or mentioning businesses left right and centre whilst using the forum to pimp their own financial
interests goods and services for free instead.
Wiping out the competition is a good business plan but it still smacks of double standards.
Discussion is the entire point of fora, and this one has become so one sided that there is
no discussion to have anymore without either biting your tongue so to speak and watering
down your point to such an extent it's almost null by your own hand so as not to cause 'offence'
to others, or it's removed when a handful of serial complainers complain.
There are several threads running right now that I can't contribute to because I don't sing
from the correct hymn sheet to have my input considered as valid purely because it isn't
within the 'what we allow on the forum' remit.
Certain events this year have ensured my 'Freedom' contributions will cease going forward,
my financial contribution has been moderated to zero because I don't believe in the cause any
more, and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay so someone can censor me to fuel their own little
power trip. It's a shame, but us members have our own back room via PM and I can assure
you I'm not the only one who feels this way, nor am I the only one who won't be renewing freedom
as a result. I'm not even sure Freedom is the right word to describe whatever it is that it represents
anymore.
I wonder if this post will still be here in it's entirety or indeed at all tomorrow?

Are you good at writing fantasy, if so you'll be great at the job.
On a survey conducted upon a property I'm selling the 'surveyor'
put in writing this little gem.
17. The back door is defective and needs replacing. Has this been discussed by the management company? What are the potential costs involved?
The moron never even had a key for that door, that's why he couldn't open it.
Even if the lock was defective, you'd replace the lock not the door. Well you would
if you weren't from outer space anyway....
Surveys are such a waste of money and ultimately not worth the paper they
are printed on if there is a problem because they are cleverly worded to avoid any
responsibility for missing something that causes problems later.
So much so that when I buy properties which can be 2 or 3 times a year I don't even
bother having one done, I look at the property and that's good enough for me.
I don't borrow money so lending isn't reliant on surveys, and I've enough experience
and know how to tackle more or less any problem I find.
15. We still await a response in relation the electrical tests carried out at the property. We would request that a test is carried out on the flat.
16. Further to the above point, the electric storage heaters are required to be inspected and serviced or a safety test carried out on them.
So they made a big fuss about this, then when I said fine, I'll supervise the testing though
suddenly it's not so important anymore. Methinks the buyer had a tame sparks who would have
found faults where there were none and then tried to re-negotiate price.
Foiled sucka, I done this sheet before.

I assume most of these are universal fit so if I got the garmin it would fit my yamaha ybr 125 and then once I get a better bike I would also be able to fit it to that?
Yep, it's coming off of my bike before it's sold, And going straight onto the next one.
That's why I thought it was worth the dough.
-
Yeah both look good I think I am just going to spend a little more and get a dedicated bike sat nav rather than trying to mess around with my iPhone and trying to find a case and charger for the bike.
If you buy Zumo 660 it comes with storage case, powered bike mount by RAM (hard wired 2 connections with plastic
cap to hide connections from damp when not in use.) , powered car mount with cigar lighter charger, and the unit is
waterproof so no case needed when it's used on the bike. I switch mine between 4 and 2 wheels all the time and the unit
knows which of the bases it's fitted to and uses your preferred settings dependent on which base.
-
Straight to battery terminals with inline fuse is easiest.
For a few quid more you can have the later 660 model.
Waterproof, comes with Garmin car and RAM bike mounts,
Separate car charger, and fused hard wire harness and mount for bike.
mp3 player, bluetooth connectivity including to most headsets, phone book synch,
free maps, etc etc It also has a jack for wired headset if you prefer.

I took an Iron 883 out today.Just a shockingly bad bike all round.
Fat, slow, it sounded dreadful and not Harley like at all.
I spent half the ride bouncing off the limiter at a heady 5500rpm
and the other half gouging the tarmac with the footpegs.
Brakes were just about adequate, 883cc = 50bhp. That's just rubbish!
So very very poop in almost every way except I liked the keyless start
and self cancelling indicators.
Only rode it to enter a competition and just to see what all the fuss
is about. Competition entered, but I still don't see the appeal.
Overpriced fashion bike IMO. My ER6 is by no means a 'good'
bike but it beats the 883 hands down in just about every practical way.
The Harley beats it on looks only and even that is open to taste.
Mine is way faster, corners way better, sounds nicer, revs twice as high,
twin brakes to the front, 70kg lighter, +30mph on the top speed
and all that with over 200cc less displacement.
How a twin could be made when the people making it aren't American.
I'm not old or fat enough for a Harley yet, I hope I never am.
I couldn't wait for the test ride to be over.
-
I didn't do anything to my bike today.

Zumo 660 here.
Really think it's a nice bit of kit but far from cheap unfortunately.

NOT safe for work.
Rock and Roll never felt so good will be played at my funeral.
I've offended a great many people in life, so hopefully I'll nab a few more in death.
Blending in is boring. I want my funeral to be in very poor taste, so I've also insisted
on fancy dress (Theme to be decided).
Being offended is the only way some people can tell that they are alive,
those people need to be and should be offended as often as possible otherwise
what's the point of them stealing my oxygen.

You lot all pay too much for gear
Nice price on the lids Davie, about a year or so too late for me as you know.
My wifes one is still perfect btw, and I wear it from time to time as well.
I'll be buying one of those Shark light up jobbies when I get my next bike. My current
lid matches the old outgoing bike, so I'm happy to renew it when I get new wheels..
