  1. I'm certainly a lot more confident on the corners and roundabouts have become more of a enjoyable challenge as it really does hang onto the road without any hint of understeer. I've actually found that giving it more gas on tight bends makes it dig in harder
  2. oops.....there might have been wee smudge on it...lol:rolleyes: pics should be clear from now on
  3. Thanks chaps, I'll sort some interior pics for you later today Simon. Dunno what it is about my camera, it's a samsung digimac d103 10.1megapixel job so should be very good. All my pics seem to have a hazey quality, I must have something wrong with the settings.
  4. Couldn't work out how to make the pics appear automatically....tried a few times and failed...lol http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z161/andydominick2000/S1031127.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z161/andydominick2000/S1031124.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z161/andydominick2000/S1031126.jpg
  5. Had the Octavia for 7 months and it's been a cracking car with no problems whatsoever. I put it on pistonheads for a bit of a feeling of what I might acheive with it and I was offered my full asking price after 10 days, I really couldn't refuse, this is one of the few cars I've had were I haven't been left out of pocket. Anyway I replaced it with an Audi A4 Sline special edition quattro Avant in Black, it has a Bose stereo system, two tone leather seats, 18" DTM alloy wheels and the uprated anchors, the special edition also runs at 220bhp standard, absolutely beautiful car which oozes quality and drives impeccably, it's not any faster than the 2.0t 200bhp vrs I had although the books say it should be but it corners like nothing I've driven before. I've not posted pics as I know they are not everyones cup of tea, if anyones interested I will put one or two up. Thanks for all the help and advice over the last months guys, it's really been appreciated.
  6. Not an offence in itself, might call into question the manner of driving and give them a reason to pull you in to check your not on the sauce as lane discipline is usually a good pointer to drink/drugs drivers or folk on their phones.
  7. Seems like an incredibly strong remap, I think other guys are achieving 230-240bhp.
  8. I've been to one in Glasgow twice and been completely ignored by the woman behind the main desk. She looked up at me then looked away and continued shuffling her bits of paper the first time. The second time I stood directly in front of where she was sitting and waited on a "can I help you", it never came she just completely blanked me. Eventually a embarrassed looking salesman came over and asked if he could help, I'm not using Henrys again and from now on will be using a VW dealer for my service/repairs. No way they are getting my money again.
  9. Might be worth trying Avon Naturals fabric and linen freshener. very nice smell, lasts a good while and comes in a small pump action spray, designed to go on fabrics etc so wont mark the seats and the smell lasts for ages. Just gave mine another squirt of the mango one the wife uses for the ironing...dunno what it costs but I'm guessing about a pouind as the missus is a tightarse...lol
  10. It's the only option for me as I've heard lots of positive reviews about them also they're local...ish to me, the next closest tuner is Drivers in Glasgow and they don't do any tuning below 400 quid for the tfsi iirc. Just needing to get a CAI sneakily fitted to the car without SWMBO knowing before the remap to help things along a little:D
  11. I'm not even sure the fixed ones have to be visible, I think they were made more visible to aid road safety in that if people see them then they act as a deterent to speeding. Speed guns carried by the police are normaly set up in areas where there has complaints from residents, councilors or folk concerned about cars travelling at excessive speeds. Sometimes these are high profile to bolster public confidence, sometimes not if they are trying to curb a problem with boy racers using the roads as a drag strip. Either way keep yer eyes peeled and if you get pulled just admit it if you went a few miles per hour over the limit, most cops will send you on your way with a warning if you've been no more than 10mph over the limit. Sometimes they come down harder on guys with halfords bits stuck all over their cars and who have done their best to draw attention to themselves with loud zorsts and the stereo boomin etc.
  12. I'm also very interested in this topic, good thread to get going as it saves a hell of a lot of time trawling through various forums/posts etc. I have heard nothing but praise for Star performance and if I could stretch to their price rather than Celtic or Angel tuning I would.
  13. "you can't be serious man" Got to be John Mckinroe
  14. Just spent the last hour reading reviews and info on bluefin and it looks great!.. Just need to keep an ear to the fround for discounts on any of the VAG forums or at superchips themselves. Not had enough time to trawl through it all as I start work at 9pm, I will be back onto it tomorrow though. thanks Simon:thumbup:
