  1. I think I need to look elsewhere! I really like the look of the Mk IV and was fully expecting to get one to replace my excellent Mk 3 VRS. Initially got put off by to inconsistency over standard kit (heated steering wheel and option packs that were inconsistent (that is unprofessional)). Then there was a price rise and then I keep reading about all these issues. I know the lack of buttons would be irritating but having things not work is really poor from Skoda. What has happened to them?
  2. Good to know that your VRS came with a heated steering wheel but I've been confused by this as well. In fact the entire range of standard equipment, extras and add on packs is a total mess imo. The configurator mentions 'part of a cost pack' but I cannot see them available anywhere. Also the VRS seems to come with some stuff that the packs do include yet the price increase seems to be for the entire pack (as if all components are required even though it comes with some). Also the skoda website 'full equipment list' mentions heated seats but not heated steering wheel!?
  3. I upgraded to 8.1 and was surprised to see everything working afterwards. Great!
  4. Mine's got completely confused (iphone 5 ios8 & bolero). When I connect my phone the bolero seems to think that I'm in the middle of 3 calls. I appear to be dialing one number and this number shows on the maxidot. Accepting or rejecting makes no difference. Meanwhile the bolero is telling me that I'm dialing my answer phone service - twice (and shows the other call too). Here, I have the option of the red telephone on the bolero but that doesn't respond. If I try to make a call it says I need to end one of the active calls first. I've tried repairing and resetting the bolero but as soon as I reconnect I'm greeted with the same three calls again. The phone is fine. My wifes phone works fine. I just cant find a way of clearing these 'calls'! I think this happened when I lost network connections during a call. I then tried again with no luck. I then gave up and waited until I got home. The next time I tried to use it I found it in this state. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
  5. Very interesting prices. For my spec they are extremely competitive. My (potential) VRS TDI Combi with extras comes out at £27,185 list. My best prices have been: UK Car Discount £23,589 (13.23% discount) Carfile.net £23,836 (12.32%) Drive the Deal £24,029 (11.60%) CarWow £24,160 (10.87%) and then.. buyanewcaronline £22,538 (17.09%) Which made me a bit cautious (too good to.. etc.). I read reviews and testimonials and I've seen the site quoted on Honest John & Parkers for certain deals. Reading the buying process, it mentions that you can pay the deposit (£1,000) by credit card (no fee) so you'd be covered for the whole purchase if there was a problem (although I'm sure that it would be a whole lot of hassle claiming £22.5k from my cc provider if there was a problem). Also, the site looks professional with nice clear information. And they seem to have been around for some time. Has anyone bought through them or even considered and dismissed them for certain reasons? Many thanks

  7. Interested to read the quotes shown in this thread as I need a cambelt change on my Octavia II 2.0 tdi and will be getting it done it the Surrey / West Sussex area. I contacted the dealears at Ewhurst and they quoted £560 incl VAT for the cambelt / water pump. Surprising that this is so much more than for a VRS at the same garage (£420). In fact, surprising that it is so much full stop! More than my previous car which was an Impreza turbo at a Subaru garage. I've queried the price but did not receeive a reply. Now looking elsewhere. I did try the VW garage in Horsham but they said theat they did not have the right diagnostic equipment.
