  1. Ha ha , 4 yrs and still f-d , i rejected 2 yrs ago after a year of misinfo , failed updates , paying full price to beta test. I went with at the time 2 yrs ago with what i could get and want just enough. I went for an Hyundai Tucson N line S hybrid. It never fails to load the screen , it never calls SOS , it doesnt autobrake for no reason. POP POP !!! dont except it they have had 4 yrs to rectify. If you bought a telly and it started pop poping or freezing Currys would have it back same day
  2. Although i dont have my 70 plate new shape VRS ( because it was a F up from the start) I went for the top UHP from Hankook. Really recommend them. Youll see them on top Audi's and E trons
  3. If you're looking at a 2nd hand one, check the system info, ideally Head Unit H version or higher, software at least 1896 version. If lower than stated all of the above will apply. The lower spec models wont have as many probs , its the Columbus system plus other interdependent systems . I rejected mine but i managed to get the full 1896 software prior to collection.
  4. My VRS went back last Thurs , i rejected it in April , they let me keep it till i was able to get another car. The VRS got 1896 late Aug and was how she should have been from new. Now i miss her!!! No im in a Tucson
  5. Mine was called in for 3 days , free loan car. Had 1896 installed and she now works the way she should have done from new. No POP POP. Insist on 1896 or higher as my dealer hadnt heard of till they contacted Skoda UK HQ. The system boots faster and now is a joy to use
  6. press the start infotain panel for a second and you go to a large clock. However youve turned off the sat nav , radio etc. You can choose 3 types of clock display
  7. The likelihood is you'll solve this only to find another annoying feature . Every day mine says "changing user profile ok or cancel" Or turns on with auto Clim after i "F-IN" told it not to". My POP POP has been known to contact the emergency services on its own. Also the annoying multiple alerts , do you want to fund the nearest fuel station , your user profile is set to xxx. The auto hold not letting go , the ACC braking for cars in left lane ,, the list goes on and on. I have only 2 more months of this **** before its returned as rejected. If you had one fault ( even minor) on a TV from Currys , you would have it back in the shop in jig time for a refund. Ive sat in this infuriating mess for 18 months , 40 days plus off road for the dealer to "NO IDEA OF FIX". I wrote to the dealer last week and said , guys on the forum peeps are talking about 1896 , can i get that to see what the car should have been like from the start. Dealer ,,, " hmm not heard of that update ,but our tech guy would like to test the vehicle for 3 days" They have already had it and tested it for umpteen days to come back and say theres 85 faults that we cant fix. In true Glaswegian "Ah cannay wait tay see the back oh this c#nt" If you have a newer version say an H unit plus , your probably ok and enjoying what i should have had
  8. Have the same issues as you mate , POP POP then emergency blah blah. When i go to restart the car after every pop event i get no registered user and spinning disk on screen. I have rejected this car but staying till my new other brand arrives. I called my dealer and asked for the 1896 update or something that fixes these annoying distracting errors.. Dealer , hmm not aware of any updates. So mate good luck wherever you go , the brand doesn't seem to care . Brand as VW group!
  9. The Potenzas in my OP are mince. Ive had them as OEM on a few cars and they dont like the wet. I done some research when changing my Goody F1 SS's ( under 4mil at 8k miles) and went with Hankook Evo S3. In my Op a very good tyre , great grip in dry and wet. You will see this tyre on top end Audi RS's now as OEM. Plus its cheaper than the Mitch PS4S of Conti 6 . Everybody has an op when it comes to tyres
  10. Happened to me when i was using the system to find a destination in Glasgow. It told me to turn left at the junction. At that point i knew it was wrong as a left turn was into oncoming traffic. When i looked at the screen i was about 5 miles from where i was. Contacted the dealer , dealer took the car for 3 days and road tested but could not replicate the fault. It happened again a few months after the dealer visit but not since and thats been about a year. Im just waiting for new car to arrive to ditch this , now its been formally rejected. I'll post my reg so that the next user gets a history of my probs PS still on 1803 S/W
  11. This will likely happen to your Octy when Herr Sturgeon AKA Jimmie Krankie gets her wish to put a wall between England and Scotland. All the accelerating cars leaving Scotland!!
  12. Hi Gwood. It might be registered 21 plate , but date on manufacture is key. Get in the car go to system info and see what the head unit code is , if its D plus and the software is 1803 plus ie a higher number. If this is the case the car might have a few little glitches such as pop pop SOS. Sat nav not being able to save . The adaptive cruise issue i had that on my Superb , and have it on the Octy, I just get used to and can anticipate when it falters. Mostly overtaking on motorway. When it falters , just a quick press on the gas and it clears the fault. So if me , and it was a D or later unit with higher than 1803 i would go for it as the car drives better than my prev Superb 190 sportline. Its smooth , quiet and looks great
  13. Car has USB c for plug in. Make sure before you buy , check the head unit code and software. Unit will be shvhsh3383839932 (D) or (C) the end letter is key, the lower the letter ie C,B the older the head unit and potentially more problems. Ask the dealer for the most up to date software which , depending on later head units maybe 1896. I have 1803 and have a plethora of probs. Do some research and when you see the vehicle go to settings and system info to get the head unit and software version. If you S/W version 1668 or something like that , maybe well staying clear.
  14. A factory milestone ! They completed 3 cars that day
  15. When i ordered my VRS it was £1.20 a ltr of juice , price today £1.70. It wasnt a consideration when ordered but now it is. Thankfully i have rejected the VRS for all the bits that dont work and keeping her till my new Hybrid Bore chariot arrives in October. Get a warm or hot hatch , box ticked
