  1. Oh! those Saturday teatimes with the most of us village kids (approx 10) watching 'The Lone Ranger' in Black & White with a large magnifing lens fitted over the screen, (to enlarge picture), on THE only television in the village..LOL

     

    A few years later I was paying 4/9d a gallon (23p new pence, approx) for 2 star petrol, those were the days...LOL

     

    Had to walk to the other end of the village to use a Post Office telephone (that's before it changed it's name to BT), using a old type penny and pressing button 'A' to speak, or button 'B' to get your penny back, if no answer..

    Lol,Lone Ranger in black and white.Loved it! and Flash Gordon!

     

    I'm 47 and remember the excitement over Channel 4 arriving.Hah!
