  1. Just to add, I fit the part a few days ago = working fine now. I also gave it a clean-ish and yes the pipe was that one with a snapped bit. Imagine they fit a metal double plug in it and simply used a 5-10cm pipe instead - would never break! But they know that!!! Bye
  2. I usually go to eBay for these bits... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/336312344187 In case anyone needs it... MY son-in-law has a Fabia an I used to have Fabia estate about 12-13 years ago. I end here!
  3. I bet the pipe is the one just under your orange circle, I think I can see the end has the valve in it - left side. Will check later, as I got a school run and hospital as well. Chauffeur-ing this afternoon! Stop working earlier. Family first!!
  4. Had a quick look on eBay just to see what it was... OK will look into that. I appreciated your help! Well, that is what we are here for, the more skilled or at least with more background help others like me that left the car knowledge to the past, but I am a good DIYer Mine is a 5J - Dec 2013 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/405775479986
  5. 🫨 What? I am wondering if there is an image or PDF, then I can try and get the part and fit it.
  6. Well, it is solved by 90%, but I still smell a bit once in a while especially when standing and then going - i.e. surely fumes from my car. So, I checked the engine and I found this: Clearly it deposits itself and then burn and smell! Fuel?
  7. [SOLVED] It simply was the cabin Air Filter cover not properly fit - i.e. loose! I have taken filter out and was cleaned. I am not sure, but also the filter was fit to send air the wrong direction! Right drive, filter is on left side under dashboard and air filter should point towards the air controls. Thanks everybody for inputs - appreciated!
  8. Plastic cable sleeves are quite hard - obviously will snap and get pulled and bunch of cables are quite tight from FACTORY ! Thanks everybody for inputs - appreciated!
  9. [SOLVED] Yep, did open that cabling boot - although officially called grommet (wrong word) and I obviously found what expected. Right side License Plate light wires both snapper and several others - including two large ones (I suppose for the electrical lock). Insulated them all first, then added a 5-6cm long extension and re-soldered the light wires - all works fine now.
  10. I just found this via search engine, I could not find it before via forum search: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/342667-rear-tailgate-wiring-fail/
  11. Hi Thanks for reply. Mine is - if not wrong - a 1.2 TSI MPV 5J. I 'think' I may understand what you stating. Will see if I can do those checks. I have really been off cars for decades now...
  12. I had some time today - 30 minutes - and I measured wires = no voltage. I also checked all 5A fuses and a few 7.5 and a couple 0f 10A near right side fuse box. I could see a 10A was replaced as was different. No change and no idea what to do more, if I had an idea of the wiring circuitry - that 'may' help. I also did a quick check of all lights and whichever dashboard light there is - as far as I know, all seems to work. mmm
  13. Well, this shows how much I did not take care of this car! Probably at the very least the Cabin filter needs replacing, then will look at engine filters etc. I guess I am getting older... Perfectly clean but c0ver was lose - yes put in correct inner flow direction. Did not have time to test, but that may not change anything... in my view.
  14. Hello Any idea what is going on. I have to admit in the last 5-6 years I did not really take care of my car any more. In the sense that life keep getting in the middle and I also do not drive it as much. It has been going on for a while and I have to switch to internal fan only! Thanks M PS I am near retirement... and I will have more time to actually do some care, as I used when I had the Fabia 1.3 Estate
