My car that I bought in April is 5 years old - has had 6 services all done by Skoda. I'll probably get it done once by Skoda as its under the Skoda warranty and I can afford the extra few quid for the main dealer to look at it. Once the warranty is done then it'll be going to my independent who are experts. Of course my only concern is the chain tensioner - so I may be tempted to take it straight to the independent and get them to change to chain and tensioner if it's affected. Id rather pay the 3-400 quid to do it myself then wait for it to go bang under the warranty.
It would be a shame to waste this engine - it's only done 17k
