  1. Sounds quite like my mark 2 Superb - Petrol DSG that shuddered in 2nd when pulling away. New mechatronic unit under warranty in my case, £2K. That particular car I bought in 2016 - was 5 years old with 15K on it ...
  2. My boot is getting progressively worse so I ordered a pair yesterday and intend to fit them myself - it looks pretty simple
  3. Yeah £216 is the best price I’ve seen on eBay for a pair. Surely they are the same as what Skoda would be selling - so why the markup on Skoda sourced parts or is that a rhetorical question ?
  4. I got a quote for parts from Fish Brothers. £478 plus vat, EACH. Jesus wept!
  5. Edit: that was me posting in frustration. Apparently new struts are only a couple of hundred quid so maybe the car can stay a bit longer.
  6. My car has now decided that opening the boot all the way is now all too much for it and either it works or it'll stop nearly all the way open with 3 beeps. Mine's 7 years old next year and frankly I am not spending £1K on the boot - I didn’t spot the link to the £200 odd struts. How much of a job is this? Easy for a complete novice? What tools would one need?
  7. I still have it in the shed, and I was in London last week............ D'oh
  8. Yeah it flashes on my 2016 2.0TDI too. Goes away after a few seconds. First time I saw it was about oooooo 2 days after I bought it. I was mildly unimpressed to say the least because of the nature of the text.
  9. Yes, I've no idea why. It's nowhere near as populated as Cardiff/Swansea areas. I grew up in the north of Gwent. Very, very poor. Though, as the virus has proved, it isn't picky - Lombardy is an affluent area of Italy.
  10. I did wonder about the battery. My car hasn't moved for over a week now, nor has the wifes car...
  11. Not sure house building is "essential"? Nor offices?
  12. Honestly if a bad back is the worst thing I have to put up with over the next few weeks I will happily take it without (too much) complaint.
  13. I could do with washing both ours, wifes is a soft top so that needs a clean too. I'd do it but - fortunately I have to work, and this morning I put my back out and cannot stand up straight. Wonderful. Maybe a weekend job, dig out all my cleaning supplies.
