  1. Aaaah, I remember Briskoda. Its what we used to do before Facebook came along. Commendable.
  2. That's good to hear. I think my mind is made up then. Cheers chaps. Just one question. The little plastic bottle thing on the back. Is that a bog standard soap reservoir, or some type of snow foam attachment?
  3. Ey up. My rather costly Karcher has given up the will to live. I've taken it to bits and potentially it could need some very expensive bits to make it go again so I've got face on. I bought it about 7 years ago after my cheap Aldi one blew it's insides onto the pavement. I thought you get what you pay for so spent £150 on a half price Karcher which has only had light use and hasn't been worth the investment. So saw this at Screwfix. Cheap and cheerful. Is Nilfisk any good? Not really heard much about them tbh. http://m.screwfix.com/p/nilfisk-alto-c110-4-5-pca-x-tra-110bar-pressure-washer-1-4kw-230v/61462
  4. Been a member since December 2004, after buying a proper vRS in 2003 which I kept for 3 years. Only had one other Skoda, a 1999 Cube van.
  5. High curbs and high carbs.
  6. So, There's a difference between polish and wax?
  7. Saw this online. Lamborghini driver travelling too fast. Some numpty pulls out on him causing him to collide. If it was a Ford Fusion travelling too fast when some goober fails to give way, I wonder if it wod attract the same vitriol.
  8. Golf R estate in development. This is the one I'd have. Rare as hens teeth and less likely to disappear from your drive. http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/scoop/new-volkswagen-golf-r-estate-development
  9. It depends on the length of the slip road, the power of your car, and your confidence in completing the overtake. For instance M18 J3 southbound is a ridiculously short slip which I never overtake on as it's too dangerous. Plus the dividing line runs out too soon and folk generally drift out into the offside lane too soon. M1 J37 southbound is about 2 miles long and nice and wide on a straight road downhill, so plenty of overtaking opportunities there. Too many folk overestimate the abilities of their car, and their own driving skill which often ends in disaster.

    Yeti Camping

Don't buy a trailer, buy a roof box. Cheaper, less maintenance, easier to store and theft resistant. Also, fit a 12volt windscreen mounted TV/DVD system, then pretend the yeti is a small local cinema showing a selection of your favourite fillums.
  11. I recently bought a 5 door 60 plate Golf GT TDI DSG with 22k on the clock from JCT600 in Sheffield. I searched auto trader for a similar spec Octavia, ignoring age and specifying the price I paid for the golf and it threw up 2 cars. Both the same age and with higher mileage. I appreciate that th'octavia is more powerful but I would have expected a raft of cheaper Octy's based on Skoda's VFM stance.
  12. Someone had one on piston heads running 350bhp. Not sure how it drove though.
  13. As above, don't discount the XF. It looks great from the outside, and even better from the inside. A neighbour has the XF sportbrake and it's an utterly gorgeous car. Its the only one I've seen in the metal as well, so pretty exclusive just now.
  14. Speaking from a law enforcement background, you don't get many Porsche 911's stolen from people's drives (at least not oop north). The reasons being that a stolen 911 would stand out too much as there aren't that many about, and they would be harder to sell on as the market is smaller. I'd be far more concerned about having any Audi S Line, Golf Gti or Range Rover sport on my drive.
