  1. I really like my Rapid, as to what to replace it with I think I'll go for a 1.4 petrol Octavia as a little more comfort wouldn't go a miss.
  2. Lovely little car you've got there Sasha, and I like your style on the upgrades, very OEM+. I had an identical white Monte on a 66 plate as a courtesy car for 48hours, and I was very impressed with the thing.
  3. What about having LPG fitted to your Rapid? The diesel will feel very crude after the lovely 1.2TSI.
  4. This looks the perfect combo of wheels and suspension to my eyes. What springs are you running? Where did you source the wheels? Nice car!
  5. Just ticked over 20k. I'm really delighted with my Rapid, especially after 48 hrs in a Citigo! My long term calculated average is 46mpg over mixed driving (almost no motorway). I'm very pleased with that and some of the miles were very spirited indeed
  6. I get 51mpg (indicated) on a steady 70mph run - so probably 48.5mpg in reality. Mines a 105 with stop/start.
  7. You should try the forum sponsor, gapinsurance.co.uk I bought a 4 year policy and was astonished at the price, just under £94.13 for £10,000 of cover with your Briskoda difference, and a pleasure to deal with too http://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/309-gap-insurance/
  8. Some people want no thrills cheap as chips motoring, with cheap tax, good mpg and a warranty for good measure. Rapid S sounds perfect for the job if space is also required. Ex-lease or similar will be cheap second hand too. No need to be snobbish about it. I very nearly bought a 2014 Rapid Liftback SE with 12k miles for £7999. I went back the next day to pay a deposit and it had been sold. I ended up with my 2015 Spaceback SE Tech and I'm delighted with it, but it was also £4000 more expensive! For the record the 2014 Rapid SE has a very basic spec, my Spaceback SE Tech certainly doesn't.
  9. Hi Matt Only just seen this thread for the first time, but I may jump in on it with you if you'll allow? Just weighed myself at 21st 10lbs. I've not been below 20st since being a teenager, and whilst I do quite a lot of walking and generally eat quite well, I can really binge eat in the evenings when I've run out of things to do. Its really hard to keep busy after about 8pm and the kids are in bed etc. :( Keep up the good work mate, I never seem to manage more than a week or so of being 'good'. :(
  10. I'd have called the police immediately to see what they said. If they weren't happy to take any action Id have popped round to the address the car was visiting for a chat. Before bringing it up with Skoda and the body shop be sure to know what outcome you are hoping for.
  11. They do look decent, but its the extra support I'm wanting, I'm happy with the fabric and how they look. I think the simplest option for me is to find some MY2015 Sport Seats and fit them - no mean feat! I may even price them up at Skoda... *gulp* Might as well go heated if I'm doing that too...
  12. Almost no motorway whatsoever. The majority of those miles are commuting 17 miles each way, a gentle A road commute mix of 30/40/60, a bit of stop start for the last couple of miles. Quite a few short journeys popping around town and doing site visits at work. I've done maybe 250 miles of motorway since I've had the car and I've also done some very high speed stuff and spirited driving (maybe 100 miles or so). It's a good average and it'll do just fine.
  13. Quite pleased with the economy on my 105, especially as it's been winter. Low of 43.2, high of 50.4, average 47.12.
  14. Dials are great aren't they! I think of you average a genuine 50mpg you'll have done well. My experience of hybrids is that you have to work bloody hard to get good returns.
  15. That's the thing, I think the Rapid is unique unless anyone can tell me otherwise?
  16. I'm pondering swapping out the seats in my Rapid. I sat in a Fabia Mk3 Monte whilst mine was in for service, and whilst the colours are a bit Marmite, they felt great. I used to love the seats in my Mk1 Fabia vRS, but didn't like the ones in my Mk2 Octy vRS as they weren't long enough in the squab and gave me back ache after a couple of hours. I don't like the ratchet backrest adjustment in the Rapid, I much prefer a wheel adjuster. I'd really like more side support too, a seat you sit in rather than on. Mine are quite acceptable, but I want better. Can anyone confirm what other models have compatible seats?
  17. Nice one, enjoy it. Get some pics up! I love my SE Tech, seems to me to have a nice amount of kit and feels more premium than it really is. It's the sweet spot of the range I think. I'm not a fan of the pano-roof on the Sport, although the I would rather have the sports seats for sure. Mine was ex-demo so I didn't get the chance to spec them unfortunately. It'll be interesting to see how the mpg compares to your old one. My long term average is 46.6mpg, which is a good mix of my 17 mile commute, hardly any motorway, a good few short runs into town a week and a little bit of naughty driving on b-roads too.
  18. I love the interior on these for sure, a nice place to sit.
  19. I'm on my 42nd car at 31 years old. There's no such thing as a perfect car I'm afraid. I really wanted to like the CT, had a 24hr demo through work, but found the suspension unacceptably hard. Might I suggest a 2nd test drive over some bumpy roads?
  20. I think we should get something in the diary.
  21. What's wrong with soldering some splices in? Done neatly they are easily removed back to standard with just a little making good. I'll admit I'm bot too keen on a 2nd remote fob.
  22. 1.5 - 2mpg consistently in mine - I record this every fill up, so 3-4% ish. I suspect this can be calibrated with VCDS, can anyone confirm?
