Hello all,
I have a 55 plate Octavia L&K.
Just this evening the alarm has been going off randomly.
I have locked it using the key instead of the fob but still seems to go off.
Could anyone provide a fix for this ? Got some kids who could be kept up tonight........

Another Skoda owner here who was very impressed with Victoria garage.
I was going to go to ***************** but decided to take a run out the road after reading about them on these forums.
Took the car out in the morning, got the courtesy car and a few hours later I was back.
Great service from start to finish and I will be going back for any further work/services.

Im just north of Aberdeen too so will keep an eye out.

Thought I might as well post in here.
Im in Aberdeen and I bought myself a 55 plate Laurent & Klement estate a few weeks back.
-
Well Im finally a member of the club.
I bought myself a 55 plate Octavia Estate 1.9 Laurin & Klement.
Its been a joy to drive and couldn't believe that Im getting 51mpg on a trip to Edinburgh. A 150 mile trip each way but felt I could have done another 150 miles.
-
I have been on the lookout for a 1.9 Octavia Elegance estate.
Prices had been coming down and it seems cars are not shifting that quickly.
I will continue looking.

Welcome along
Some great roads up your way! I am up in the Highlands for the week running into Easter, and am planning to do some scenic Skoda-ing! Any recommendations for routes welcomed! Mind you, I get the impression there aren't too many bad choices up there - I've been up to Aviemore on the bike before and had a blast!
I drove Aberdeen - Inverness - Fort William - Glencoe - Edinburgh last year with some friends over from the States. Inverness - Fort William- Glencoe - Edinburgh was fantastic.

Yes everything has fallen quite a bit, and as one poster quite rightly said you can throw out the glass' guide at the moment some cars are so far behind book like the Audi Q7 they are running about £10k behind glass' at present!
Thats incredible:eek:
As a prospective buyer Im looking at the likes of Glass' guide etc but some sellers seem to think their car is worth far more.
-
Have used car prices in general fallen that far ?
-
Buying with cash does not enhance your position, dealers sell finance for profit.
Many thanks for clearing that up for me:)

Interesting thread. Likely to enter the market for a low mileage Octavia vRS TDI estate very soon, thought hard about a strong deal on a new one but cannot justify several extra grand for the privilege.
I am working on the basis that the big discounts ("no VAT" offers, for example) on new vRSs will flow quickly through to used valuations too? Fair position or am I just daydreaming?
Campbell
Im thinking along the same lines.
Im looking for a 2005 or 2006 1.9 Elegance Estate and it will be a cash purchase, no part exchange.
-
Btw, whereabouts in Scotland are you?
Im in Aberdeen mate.

Hello folks:)
Another newbie here.
Not yet a Skoda owner but looking to pick up a 2005+ Octavia Elegance Estate.
I look forward to getting some invaluable tips and info from this site

Go to the Skoda website and search used cars if you want one from a Skoda dealer. In the current economic climate prices can vary a lot & it also depends whether you are trading in or not.
Thanks for the reply.
I had a look on the site and there is not too much up here in the North of Scotland, though if I do find a good deal I would be willing to travel.
It would be a cash only sale as I would not be trading in.

Hello folks:)
Due to a recent new arrival I'm now in the process of hunting for a new car. The Ford Focus we currently have is just too small and after reading countless reviews/opinions I have decided that an Octavia Estate is the way to go.
I think the 1.9 is going to be my preferred choice.
Ideally it will be a 2005 or 2006 model.
The one area Im patchy on is the price I should be looking to pay.
Would anyone know what sort of price I should be aiming for ?
What do you do for a Living ?
