  1. I just ordered one too. I loved the mk3 vrs and wish I'd never sold it, but I moved away because of the godawful face-lift headlights. I won't drive an automatic so I'm really relived they did decide to make the mk4 manual - despite dropping the gti and cupra manual options- and have ordered the estate in corridor red (not impressed i had to pay for that paint though!) No options for me, I'm happy with the spec as it comes, the only thing I considered was heated windscreen but its not worth it for me.
  2. Thanks for this - but presumably the main advantage of PCP is that people can own a brand new car without having to invest so much money into it up front. Plus, ridiculously, PCP total payment is now almost always cheaper than cash, which is a scandal really as - I assume - this isn't for skoda's short term gain but their long time as people who sign up to PCP are much more likely to 'buy' another at the end of the term than people who pay cash. I'm ordering a new VRS manual estate at the moment and the PCP total cost is cheaper than cash - is there any reason why not to take it?
  3. Thanks - great news, I doubted it but it's here, I thought they would only do an auto. Shame no manual diesel but no matter. I guess I'll have to make good on my promise and buy one then, now to find a good deal. Does anyone know if Sat Nav is included on the vrs? as I couldn't find it as an option in the configurator Also what do people think of the red? I'll be having Corrida red as per my last skodas, but it's a shame this isn't the free colour any more. I'm worried that it will be much more popular now that it's a 'special' colour.
  4. Thanks, I really hope so!
  5. Does anyone have any update on whether there will be a manual? That autocar report really got my hopes up. If they do im buying one, no question. If not ill be hanging onto my last-of-the-line manual cupra estate sadly
  6. I'm 100% with you on the gearbox I dont care how good DSG is I dont want one and won't drive one. But thats not why I posted I moved away from skoda after having a string of them, mainly because of the horrid double lights on the mk3 i know some love them but not me. I bought a Leon Cupra Estate, one of the last they made with Manual. So, I was pleased to hear from autocar that the mk4 octavia estate VRS will have a manual option! If so, I'll be buying one - can this really be true? I'd just assumed they would all be auto. Can anyone confirm this and know when they're available? Cheers.
