  1. Wow time flies, can't believe this was 2 years ago. Well, I've still got the issue and now I can feel the clutch actually slipping too. It still only happens in high gear at highish speeds every now and then. Garage says there's nothing they can do to adjust other than to replace the clutch which is £900+. There's no cable to adjust like they did in the past apparently. But I can't really do that just on the off-chance it might fail, so presumably I just have to live in fear from now on! Has anyone else had any updates or resolutions on this issue?
  2. I have never, ever managed to get the inbuilt voice control to do anything useful at all... Would rather have it switched off completely as then it wouldn't go off randomly when it thinks you're trying to talk to it and you aren't!
  3. Yes sorry for confusion it definitely said Clutch Temperature high, 100%. Just while motorway driving, it's come up a few times but didn't on my most recent long trip For what it's worth my car was a Jan 2020 when they were very new, and I've had no end of electrical error gremlins, some of which still persist - skoda say everything's fine. Others include the radio randomly switching itself off in the middle of a drive, sat nav taking two attempts to input an address, constant bonging about "take over driving" and "stay in the middle of the lane" even though I already am. Total joke. Only reason I'm keeping it now is they've stopped doing the manual vrs which is the only one I was interested in. Never had any problem with the car itself mechanical etc, and this is the first of my skodas that's ever given me any grief after owning 5 now...
  4. Sorry to drag this up, but I got the same, message on the motorway (ie when clutch wasn't under particular strain). Several times "Temperature high, continue driving" a couple of times "Temperature high, stop driving and see dealer" Taking it into Skoda was a complete waste of time as usual - nothing recorded on the system, and cannot replicate the problem - basically like every single other electronic issue I've had with the Mk4. very frustrating. Never had a single issue with any other of my Octavias going right back to mk1.
  5. I don't know I'm afraid. VRS built Dec 2020. It's done this from the start and NEVER remembers the last destinations, but I haven't had the energy to moan about it to the dealer yet.
  6. Yep mine does this among many other infotainment fails. Let me guess, the dealer pretended they'd never seen it before haha. Joke
  7. I'm never sure why people want a raised floor, yes it makes it level-ish, but I can't see any circumstances where I wouldn't rather just have a larger boot with a less bendy floor. Had the variable floor for 2 years and always left it down.
  8. The USB C is on the wrong side for a UK dash cam and I hate hanging cables, so I just wired it into the fuse box as usual with a £5 ebay cable and a £1 piggyback fuse. Then you get your choice of always on or on with ignition.
  9. No it's not just that, it's plain software bugs, on mine such as (almost) never remembering last sat nav destinations, sometimes having no climate control options at all showing, and sometimes taking over 5 minutes to load up the system after you set off, whcih is particularly unhelpful if you want to enter a sat nav address. I agree that when the auto climate is working, it's quite good.
  10. I love the car itself and I'm glad I bought it. That said, the stereo etc is an absolute joke, shocking number of minor issues and very poor usability.
  11. For what it's worth mine is 7 pin and the reversing code works fine.
  12. Due to laws solidified by the Insurance Act 2015 its impossible in the UK for an insurer to refuse a claim on a manufacturers part just because of a modified other part, unless that part could have directly caused its failure. That said, I prefer the original wheels thanks.
  13. I've used pound shop roof bars for years and they've fitted all my cars previously including my mk3 estate which had 'proper' roof rails. Unfortunately the mk4 estate has no proper rails and presumably they are only good for the bespoke type of roof bars
  14. The gesture control bit you said resonates with me. I can't get it to do anything consistently and sometimes it swipes the home screen left when I didn't mean to and won't go back when I try to swipe it back. It keeps asking me about user accounts which I don't want, all I want is it to remember individual mode.
  15. The new bumper thing might be related to another towbar manufacturer, because when I was trying to get quotes, one did tell me that, that was for a 'tow trust' bar. Mine is westfalia and as I said no issues cutting a hole in the existing bumper. Seems very bizarre.
