  1. thanks guys! nice to see i haven't made a pigs ear of it lol. I specifically kept away from vRS parts, as I wanted to keep its identity as a Laurin & Klement, so now it's more of an L&K R :)

I see you have the sport John, really like the Sports! I have the front bumper on mine but they never made the rear bumper for the combi! So I put an FL vRS bumper on! I used yellow LaminX film on them, but before that I painted the guts of them in black, which is why they look dark

The number plates have the Czech EU logo on them, I really like them, along with the little plate frames :)

I'll give panel wipe a try before I fit the Mk5 skirts, which are currently sitting in my room looking sexy, going away this weekend for a friends holiday, but I have the house to myself next week so it's going to be constant car work and fiddling, might break the rotary out again and blackmax it then use some Wolfs Hardbody i've been dying to buy and try!

Once the skirts are on i'm going to go for a proper good photoshoot, so stay tuned :)

also had a nightmare, fitted some superskoda RS+ skirts, which didn't fit very well... and now i've removed them and getting some Mk5 GTI skirts painted, and fitted to cover up the glue mess left by the SS skirts :( gutted, and expensive!

and some other random pics of it :D

    hope you all like :D

anyways, here's how it's looking, so happy with it at the moment, like you wouldn't believe!

  3. After a leave of abscence! Been so busy living my life for the first time in history and hitting the gym I just haven't had time! I hope this is allowed in here.. Gonna renew my freedophile membership later on and all will be rosy!

Lots of exciting things happening with the L&K before Inters, and for 2013's show season, it'll be getting air ride, a respray and a retrim amongst some other little things. Also got my new injectors fitted and a few polybushes fitted courtesy of Ali @ Unit18 who's always a pleasure to deal with!

Hope all the regulars and the new peeps are doing good!

  4. If you have Z2 on your paintwork then layering this with the additional Z6, as stated by Hunty278, will give you plenty of durability.

If you feel the need for something else then your missing the best Zaino product in their range in my opinion and that is Zaino Z8, this acts as a quick wipedown top up sealant and is marketed in the USA as 'Bling in a bottle', great smell, nice beading and a personal favourite of mine........

Amen to that. You converted me to it, most fantastic product of ever!

  5. Ooooooh I love the JDM Mistrals! Mate has a 1995 one with factory navimagation (screen the size of a postage stamp lol) they come with all sorts of funky bits, I want the double din dash from one. I plan on doing the cladding dark grey, or finding a mistral with it and swapping the nicer bumpers and rear lights. Where in Cornwall are you from mate? It's my family and I's second home pretty much!

The old girl has an MOT on Wednesday, and picking up some weller wheels with new Insa Turbos! Old Skool white wellers like a baws!

Also fitted a nice Sony iPod head unit too :)

  6. If all you can do is resort to personal insults and still be wrong then if I were you i'd just say "FML".

Handling was very lacklustre, turn in was sharp but it lacked grip even on wide expensive Michelins. It also felt very unstable at speed.

And I was referring to my 1.6 2008 G4ED engined Coupe as having old tech. And it certainly felt it. Cheap and nasty, the whole car. A pig in a sequin dress. And I may have been using 1970s as just a term to say it was old.

And the VVT system had precisely nothing to do with Toyota (there's many types of variable valve timing you know, the Hyundai CVVT was a propriatory system with technical input sourced from Ricardo and Robert Bosch. It was also very rudimentary compared to Nissan's VVL and Honda's VTEC) The Beta II as fitted to your RD2/GK Coupe was Hyundai's which came out in the years ago and was fitted to the Galant etc, Hyundai up until the late 90s always used older established engines to keep R&D costs low.

I used to work for Hyundai UK's press office.

  7. I have a very discrete Rolex Submariner which I love but it's too flashy for everyday usage. Always scared someone'll 'regulate' me warren G style. I have a normal Accurist chrono for daily wear, and a new iPod nano with the Nixie tube clock mode set :)

I love watches! I want to get a genuine Nixie tube watch like Steve Wozniak's!

  8. I had the opportunity to buy my other brother (not dstev, he has an aversion to cars over 3 years old and less than 180bhp!) Nissan Terrano this christmas. He had bought a new car and needed the space quickly. I paid £190 for it. It has 120k on the clock, and it's never been offroaded, it has the leather seats, electric sunroof, aircon and roof rails. Plus it's also a seven seater! I have looked on Autotrader and ones with less equipment and more miles are selling for about 2 grand. So I think it was a bargain!

here's the only pic i have (taken with my 10mm sigma lens!)

    383295_10151169229185122_732495121_23045435_1071944019_n.jpg

    plans are;

    • chunky AT tyres
    • general tidy up
    • machine polish
    • 4 spotlight pod on roof
    • HID conversion (has projectors!)
    • full service including trans fluid, f&r diffs
    • iPad installation on the dash for maps and inclinometer
    • remap
    • straight through exhaust
    • milner offroad springs and KYB oil shocks
    • 16" Navara wheels, better tyre choice
    • subwoofer
    • respray silver bumpers and cladding in Nissan tornado grey (like my old primera, have loads of cans left!)
    • nice bull bar for spotlamps
    • snorkel :D

it'll be a nice addition to the fleet, as it means I won't have to risk buggering the octavia up come next winter, and the snow etc :)

bit pikey i know but i hope the octavia offsets that!

  9. four brand new (not reconditioned) genuine VAG injectors for my BKD Octavia. Just waiting to have them fitted by Unit 18 later this month. I won't say how much I paid for them, as I don't want to make you ill!

    400918_10151165611775122_732495121_23034832_459458636_n.jpg

this should fix the misfire! going for a live map as well from the masters - Motech in Northampton.

  10. Oh loads of symptoms of a dropped injector now I think about it.

**** poor starting sometimes. Doesn't want to 'catch' and coughs into life.

    Rough idle.

    Down on power.

Stuttering in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear under heavy throttle.

Juddering on overun like when you approach a roundabout with your clutch depressed.

Now I've got the codes I'm gonna source four low mileage injectors, and get it mapped properly as well. Bluefin. Do. Not. Want.

  11. Thanks ever so much for the part numbers. Now I can get on and hunt one down to replace the one that's on its last legs.

I'm afraid I'd be spitting into the wind WRT to warranty/goodwill. She has done 156k so it's only expected. Plus Skoda have never been one to help or give a toss on this car from new, with it's cracked cylinder head from 25k and them being adamant that a litre of coolant loss every three days was normal....! They kicked and dragged their heels on that one until just out of warranty, and then they even only covered the cost of the part. Great cars but the aftersales is terrible and makes me think twice about buying in the future. It's not as if they're even a cheap option any more!

  12. Oh yes :(

Firstly I let my membership lapse although I am sorting that!

Booked the Octavia into Unit 18 to have a bad oil leak attended to, leaking cam cover and a bung being the main culprits.

This all sorted out well as per usual and what one comes to expect with Unit18.

Found out one of my injectors is on its arse :( Bad news :( I keep trying to find the part number for the injector my car needs. It's a BKD engine. This would be most helpful as it'd allow me to source a spare. Thanks!

And the oil leak has reacted with two of the bushes, so need a new dogbone mount and lower wishbone bush.

    Just what I needed/wanted before xmas :(

Apart from that everything else is going good!

Hope you're all well, sorry I never get time to come on here any more :( *waves at Martin, Bryan et al!
