Huh? How sure are you of this? I can't get Android to work at all on my Columbus... As far as I know, the Hero (or any other Android phone for that matter) does not have rSAP on its bluetooth stack, thus not enabling proper Columbus integration? Or am I missing something here? EDIT: err, perhaps I must say that I drive a Superb II, with the factory-fitted BT-kit, which is perhaps different than BT-kits fitted to other models?

Bump... :( I'm having this issue too (Superb TDI 140 DSG): from time to time (about 3 or 4 times a week), I briefly get the error described above. I noticed it does this whilst going quite slow, not when the engine is under a lot of stress or anything. Things I can check before I go to the dealer?

Having said that: I do drive lots of slow roads and tend to put my foot down.

I'm pretty sure the police would be utterly useless in this matter indeed. I do - however - suspect that your local Skoda dealer could look up the rightful owner if prompted to do so. At least, that's what my dealer told me after I was getting a little scared about my Columbus being nicked... And I also do get why you're not going that route either. I guess you can call it human nature... (which doesn't make it right, of course) The sad thing is: people on this forum will now probably steer clear of these units, yet the sellers will have no trouble selling their units, as there will always be people not interesting, not caring. Again, human nature...

So much for the "refurbished units" theory eh... :rotz: I'm sorry, but there are a couple of peeps on here who think that by telling themselves they are not stolen units, it's ok to buy one at a discount. we all know why they're so cheap... I pretty much agree with gadgetman and I simply know most of you do too, until a "bargain" comes round and you end up buying one. If I were you guys, I'd report the seller asap, which would include - unfortunately - you turning in your unit and waving goodbye to your money spent. Perhaps the rightful owner could be tracked?

This works like a charm. Well, not that charming as my voice controlled bluetooth kit still asks me for input (with a nice "Pardon?" after the chime ), but when I cancel the voice control, the DVD resumes playback, even when driving... Note though: you cannot touch anything whilst driving (e.g. volume, airco, etc.), seeing the "Tone" screen will then pop up. A little annoying, but for a hack it isn't that bad!

Let's see... All of the options and whether or not I find them worthwhile in hindsight: First, the actual options (not included in "my" (Belgian) Elegance spec, nor in the "Company" pack (Belgian option for lease drivers)): - DSG: best. option. ever. pure bliss. - sports suspension (lowered and a bit stiffer): great option, makes the car more dynamic (which I like) - sound system: mixed feelings about this one... as I enjoy music with (lots of) bass, this probably wasn't all that worthwhile (had to add a subwoofer myself to get semi-good results). yet it was dirt cheap, so I don't really regret it as it's great for watching DVD's and such - flappy (DSG) paddles behind the steering wheel: a true waste of money, almost never use them - bluetooth car kit: great option if your phone is compatible. mine is, so I'd highly recommend it - hill hold: neutral on this one. to be honest: i added this just because my lease budget could take it... wouldn't have taken it otherwise. perhaps if you live in a place with really steep hills? Then there's the "Company" pack: - Columbus: great piece of kit, yet way overpriced. if it were my own money, I would have opted for an aftermarket unit - auto-dimming mirrors: not a must-have. I have driven other cars for years without these and it hasn't really bothered me too much - heated rear seats: well... the rear seats are heated now... umm... yeah, that's about it. couldn't care less, seeing I'm the one driving, but OK... - parking assist: a cool feature to show off to your mates! and all the silliness aside: it really works, so I find myself using it quite often, to be honest! Things I would have taken should my budget have allowed it: - bigger engine... the 140 PD is fine, but the 170 CR is indeed better - solar roof... I simply HATE getting into my car after it has been in the sun the whole day That about covers it, I guess?

Err... You must be about the first person complaining about VW's DSG... Perhaps you were in the wrong mode and using the gas pedal in a wrong way? The "D" for normal driving does indeed try to go to the highest possible gear, but is in no way "jerky" (on the contrary, it almost makes the car react slow in certain conditions). Using "S" for "sporty" driving will not put you in a high gear, but it will make your car a little "jerky" (read: nervous) in traffic indeed, as it will switch back to first gear regularly! I'm pretty sure you just need to learn to drive with the DSG, as there is no way in hell you can drive better using a manual... YouTube - DSG vs 6spd manual

Slightly off-topic, but I can confirm that. I have the paddles and have used them about... err... five times, four of which were just for fun and play. Not worth its money, the DSG itself works like a charm!
