  1. After 9 years and 6 months our original battery has died. Replaced with a Bosch S4 E05 640A 60Ah -EFB. I thought the old one was failing because the Stop Start failed so glad to say it now works again.
  2. Have just completed the parcel shelf modification by following the guide above posted by fredw. Parts purchased from ebay for £10. Cheap and easy to do. Have managed for nearly 9 years but well worth doing.
  3. WINGS have a couple SE models for sale (see link). Both steels with 165/70/14
  4. What is your history with the car Louise27. Date registered ? Purchased from new ? Full Skoda service history ?
  5. We are currently looking at various cars for my 18 year old daughter (no lessons taken yet). My eldest daughter drives a 1.2 i10 and my wife drives the Citigo. So we have looked prices and insurance for the older cars, Fabia mk1,KA, Micra etc etc and the newer models (2012) Suzuki Alto/Nissan Pixo, C1/Aygo/Pug, Mii/Up /Citigo, i10/Picanto. Budget is 4-5k (at the moment) and the best option in my opinion is the i10 Comfort but she prefers the square styling of the Citigo/Up/Mii which are out of the budget unless you buy a CATD. Interesting Insurance quotes too for all those listed above. Generally 700 (C1)to 900 (Fabia 1.2) with Diamond. Pretty good for new driver/owner. Highest for the same cars was £17,000 or 2,100 paid monthly. !! So the slow search will continue as it gives me a good excuse to be on car websites and forecourts.
  6. Just been looking at the blue one on ebay. Looks very nice in that colour with the 'non' UK wheels. It does seem to sit high though. The price at £20,495 is steep but I guess a good discount is available.
  7. I have just done the Osram Night breaker plus and Mtec upgrade. Total outlay £21.50. Money well spent as it looks much better.
  8. Ok call me paranoid ! In my earlier post #142 I mentioned that my engine will not rev over 4k when stationary but fine whilst driving. I only discovered this on Sunday due to hearing a metallic rattle at between 5-6k and wanted to investigate that noise whilst stationary inside my garage. So my question is; should this engine rev over 4k when stationary. Is this is normal or does Chilledboy and myself have a similar problem. Got my 4th main dealer service tomorrow. 2.0 tsi,Oct 09, Manual, 21,000 miles Thanks.
  9. ChilledBud- my car will only rev to 4k when stationary (as I found out at the weekend when trying to listen for a noise). Assumed this is normal ? I also have a 'grasshopper/cricket sound at idle. Been like it virtually from new (4 years) and Skoda service not concerned. I am however nervous about this timing chain issue but just have to keep my fingers crossed.
  10. There are some pictures on ebay. Someone is selling a set. Just search citigo trim and you will find them.
  11. Our boot is the same- 3 painted caps. We have a sunroof and it has the reading lights.
  12. The air distribution slider (under the fan speed switch) needs to be left. Ours is 1 wk old with 300 miles too and also has dirty inner sills. Just the design/location of the rubber seal. Therefore looks normal to me.
  13. Thanks Owens. I would never have thought it would have a rear seat belt warning indicator but thats what it is. Must get my eyes tested ! Pid case- I was told it was in the box so will try and pick one up.
  14. We collected the wifes Citigo yesterday. Red Elegance 75, 5 door with summerpack and spare wheel. This was a 'stock' car at the port in Germany and took 4 weeks to arrive at the dealers. Looks really good in red with the summer pack. The glass roof helps brighten the interior. So the 'let me take it for a drive' journey today was to Milton Keynes. Approx 150 mile round trip in the wind and rain. Cruised well at 70mph down the A1/A421 and returned 59mpg on the PID. Really pleased with our purchase and agree that the new style steering wheel with the silver inserts looks nice. The PID seems to work well with the phones and ipods that were paired with it. Thankfully the boot was not big enough for any flat pack furniture from Ikea ! A few of questions -No soft case supplied with the PID. Should there be one ? -On the lcd display it shows 'Safe lock' when entering and what appears to be a picture of a manual. Cant see anything in there. -Also on the lcd it shows the mileage followed by n n when turning on the ignition. Can't see that in the manual neither. Is it a reminder to depress the pedals before starting ? - We have the 5 year warranty but not sure if the roadside assistance runs for the 5 years too ?
  15. Hi. I am looking at carpet mats for the new arrival (hope next week). Failed to get a discount from the dealer so I think I can get better quality for the £31 quoted (that did included fitting  ). My questions ; Does the front passenger footwell have fixing pegs like the drivers side ? Anyone purchased Citigo mats from the online shops yet and any recommendations ?
  16. A couple on autotrader in Silver with the stripes. Here's one; http://usedcars.allelectric.co.uk/usedcardetail.cfm?theVehicleID=9CBA30CC-15C5-F4C0-99E5A6743F561B56#

    Port of Exit

Ordered ours on 11th Feb. It was already on stock at the port. 17 days later it is now in UK.
  18. We have just ordered a 5dr Elegance 75. We decided on red elegance with spare wheel. with either 60 or 75 power. Looking at the list of cars available at Emden Port the closest we could get was spare wheel plus summer pack or one with style pack 2 (15 inch + spare). We went for the summer pack. So it would appear that the style pack 2 is showing on some elegance models. 11 days to go
  19. We went test driving yesterday. Hyundai i20 and the Citigo. We decided on the Citigo. Then progressed to driving a 60 and 75. I agree with previous comments that there was no real difference to me and now the power delivery has been explained I can now understand why. So I am going for a red 5 door elegance 60 ps with spare wheel. Might stretch to sunroof option. Extended warranty too and opt for finance deal which will include the 3 years servicing. Just got to get the best trade in from one of the 3 dealers I have browsed around ( trading in a Vw and not my Vrs !)
  20. http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_uk/hs.xsl/index_35794.htm I use this for both our VAG cars as it is suitable for fan jets (stated on bottle)
  21. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/464727-Cup-Holder-Lighting-thougths/page2 See post 41, not sure of size
  22. Difficult to give accurate feedback on how they compare on grip, noise etc as they have replaced the original 3 yr old Dunlops. As they stand now the noise level is fine for me and the grip is better but then these new ones do have tread on them I was going to get the pilot sport 3 with the fuel voucher offer from Michelin but went with the web reviews on the Goodyears and got those.
  23. I have just had 4 of these fitted to my tsi Vrs Octavia by local tyre company today for £480 all in. Hope they perform well as the get good reviews on the web.
