  1. I passed my driving test last year at the tender age of 17! had 2/2.5 months worth of lesson. And drove from st albans to home (welwyn garden city) on my first lesson and was faced with traffic lights, roundabouts and T junctions.

Stalling quite a few times. Learnt with the AA and found them very helpful and easy to deal with, even had someone crash into the back of me on a lesson, sufferd some whiplash, and the AA dealt with the claim quickly and efficiently!

But it is all down to the persons confidence and how the instructor explains things, IMHO

  2. This is not a sales pitch, just want to see what you guys think!

Im looking to sell my W reg metallic blue fabia now, 1.4 mpi classic

its coverd 61600 miles, its about to be serviced and MOTd

It does have some stone chips and scratches on the paintwork, none are major, apart from one on the drivers side front, where someone decided to lean on my car whilest wearing a studded belt:rotz:, but it wouldnt cost much atall to rectify!

Can anyone give me any ideas of what price I should be looking for?

(if anyone is interested then feel free to PM)

If this is in the wrong place, feel free to move the thread!

    Many thanks in advance guys!

  3. Tried the dirt 2 demo and it put me off. Although the graphics are lovely, the cars seemed to handle as though they had no rear end grip at all. Maybe this was ironed out for the final release, but I don't fancy spending the money to find out.

    played the demo last night,

    and i couldnt agree anymore!!

  4. TBH, I'd avoid it myself.. when you come to re-sell it the same problems will re surface.. and if the text check is right on the multiple claims point then god knows what's happened to it..

However, if you trust a mechanic friend get them, or the AA / RAC to check it out, if it's always been repaired to top notch standard then might be a bargain.

Ive always been in two mind about buying a cat D car.

mabye il get the AA to check it out. as you said, could be a bargin!

  5. Hi guys,

Ive started looking around for a fabia Vrs,

came across this one on piston heads BOSS PERFORMANCE UK LTD : SKODA FABIA VRS TDI PD 130

Now ive phoned up and the very shy speaking chap said it was on the v car register for having a "paint strip all over" :Yikes:

done a quick mytextcheck and its come back with "RV05RXL has multiple insurance loss records. Most serious being damage cat. D. Loss date 8-4-2009"

can anyone else shed some light on this car/information for me?!

    Many thanks in advance!

  6. To be honest half your budget is going to go on insurance. Try a group 1 or 2 car rather than a group 9 unless you really want to waste your money, until you are at least 21

my 1.4 mpi cost me £1800 to get insured on last october,

to renew it will cost £1000

to get insured on a vrs will cost £1500,

im happy to pay the extra 500 for a car that i would really like!

  7. Why?

If you want a properly modified car, for the price of a standard one, save yourself at least 5K ( I say at least, knowing full well how much has been spent on mine, which is a scary amount)

If i was going to buy your one, and do things "properly" with insurance im sure they would just laugh at me. :(
