Resolved. Working with both Apple car play and AA. Just came down to the usb cable for android. Although it worked with a laptop for data transfer probably too long for AA.

Hi folks Been through steps of enabling android auto on me Octavia MK3 with infotainment part number 500 035 874 A (2x SD cards, usb + aux in + nav) I've successfully updated from 0250 -> 0253 after reading lots of posts on here (now running MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0253T) and then done the following: Mib2 std toolbox deployed and GEM enabled. Ran the patch. Set bits 6-7 of byte 19 of coding of 5F to 11 (already set) Enable adaptations in 5F: ENG109862-ENG130249-Vehicle_configuration-Apple_DIO,active ENG109862-ENG130248-Vehicle_configuration-Google_GAL,active Also xor'd the new update value and cleared the b201a error with vcds. I'm not sure I want to mess around with any later versions unless I'm missing something amazing. Android auto/apple car play appears under smart link but I can't get my phone (pixel) to connect with a usb cable that a laptop recognises the phone with. I read on mib2 std toolbox git hub issues about: "> USB port 5Q0035726E. Check USB port type in Toolbox>mib_info" In mib info I have references to usb but not sure specifically what I need to see. I do have entries a long the lines of: "Usb-device ultra fast media reader is blacklisted." Anything obvious I'm missing? I'll check what appears in sysinfo.txt with a usb stick inserted as well different phones + iPhone but I read somewhere that the iPhone wouldn't work unless a different usb port is added. Any hints greatly appreciated. :-)

Rear windows fixed! Thanks for the suggestions. It turned out that when the previous owner fitted a dash cam the fuses got messed around with and the rear window one got removed. I'd checked before but must have misread the numbering and wasn't expecting a fuse not to be present at all. CCM still doesn't respond which is a bit odd but nevermind.

Tired the key in the door trick - what I've uncovered there is another problem as the key isn't operating the lock. Not going there, already got a door in pieces on my old Passat to fix a cracked solder joint in the lock mechanism. Holding the lock/unlock button on the key operates just the front door windows though. I've got hold of vcds this evening. A full scan shows the same errors (not checked in detail yet) but it also shows the CCM as being installed. If you target the CCM directly, again, it times out. I find this super suspect, given the CCM is detected on the CAN bus yet can't communicate with it and fits with the original summary diagnosis when we got the car (admittedly, this is also swaying my suspicions). Feels like it'd be a poor design if the controller would become unresponsive if there were issues downstream. Lack of daylight preventing any deeper investigation of wiring faults at the moment. Anyone know where I can get a wiring/component location diagram? Cheers

Checked rear door bellows, all looks ok in there. That wouldn't cause the CCM not to respond though, would it?

Hi folks, The rear windows in our 2011 Octavia mk2 haven't worked since we bought it a couple of years ago. I finally got around to scanning with ODBEleven and there a bunch of errors; see below. I think the previous owner had it looked at before and the summary description was it needed a part replacing - unfortunately, no more detail than that. I believe both windows failed together which leads me to suspect a more central issue (not a fuse though). I have errors on all the doors bar the passenger to do with central locking but they all lock and unlock fine - never had any intermittent issues either. I'm thinking it is related to the comfort (system) module. For a start, in the data log nothing is reported, not even any info and when I tried to read anything from it directly in OBDEleven it times out trying to connect. Do you think I'm on the right lines? If it is the CCM, how can I go about coding a replacement given I can't read the current coding? Any pointers greatly welcomed.
