ESC, TPS, Start stop, Front assist, resistance light
Hi there, I'm hoping you got this fixed by now? Reading your first post I was a bit confused, was there a word missing? You said "....it started making when warm" did you mean it started making a noise or sound when starting when warm? And then this developed to making a noise or sound on cold starting too? The reason I ask, and I could be miles away from the correct diagnosis with this: do you know when the clutch/dual mass flywheel was last changed? A noise on starting from warm is often the first sign of the dual mass flywheel failing. I hope I am wrong. You say you have a fault code relating to "Engine Rotation Sensor", which I believe, but I'd be delighted if someone said I was wrong, means the crankshaft speed sensor? Again, that could possibly be the problem or it could be a symptom of a failing Dual Mass Flywheel. Like I said, I am hoping I am wrong.

Thanks for all the help and it's maybe goodbye
Hi Diljit, As the others have said, be happy you are here to tell the tale. It is a testament to modern car design and Euro NCAP pushing the manufacturers to improve passenger cell survivability that we have to thank for that, as well as the boys and girls back at the Skoda factory for putting the car together so well. I've dealt with some horrific RTCs in my time, seen wreckage that you couldn't believe anyone could possibly survive from, and yet they've often walked away with barely a scratch! I once had the embarrasing situation of attending an RTC on a dual carriageway, a car versus a lorry, and called it in as a "Smart Car", then my buddy walked over and said "Er, it was actually a Peugeot 406 big man!". So yes, be very thankful that you and your passengers were protected by your baby. I used to find at RTCs that people got so irate about their car being smashed, of course it was partly the shock of the incident, but the easiest way to put things in perspective was to say to them "Yes, but the car did the job it was designed to do: protect you and your passengers. And bear in mind, it can be replaced, you and your passengers cannot be replaced". That usually gave them food for thought. As far as replacing it, well, I'm biased, I've been a Skoda owner since 2001, so only 21 years, and they are beginning to grow on me! 😆 Try and get a vRS if you can, the 2013-on model is definitely the pinnacle, especially if you can find one with a host of extras! Good luck with whatever you go for, professional curiousity makes me want to ask how the incident happened, but it's probably better for you just to let it lie. The one thing I would say is get behind the wheel as quick as you can, a prang like that can sometimes dent your confidence. Take care, stay safe.

Not so much a Nebie, just an old man returning home!
"RUN FOR THE HILLS! STAN'S BACK!" I'm only back because another Skoda Octavia has joined my fleet of decrepit worn-out, saved from the scrapyard, "cars". There's only nine, yes 9, cars in the fleet, but I'd always promised myself an Octavia L&K before I met the humororous lady also known as God! My gawd she's got a wicked sense of humour! You want proof? You should see me naked! I get the best job in the World, nuf said, "Evening all!", and then get struck down with injuries and illness, and end up retired *very* early in my life. Ho-hum! So, what would you do in that situation? Sit around, crying while cuddling a bottle of vodka awaiting the inevitable, or take life by the scruff of the neck and give it a good shake and fight harder? And if you've ever seen someoe in a wheelchair trying to work on cars you'll understand why the neighbours call me the Village Idiot! It's looking nice in here now, but where's the bar and the jukebox gone? Right! I can't spend all day posting to you lot, I've got some cars to sort out! Nice to be back though, hope you have all avoided the virus? But more importantly, I hope you still all have Skodas? Or else.....! Hahaha! Cheers me dears, Stan aka The Village Idiot!
