  1. A few months ago i had the Vrs in the garage to get the earthing wire fixed on the starter motor . . . Now when i went to start the car about 20 mins ago there's nothing Not sure if its the same wire that's came loose again as the crimp got changed the last time. Has anyone else had any problems with there starter motor? Hopefully it will be a quick fix but it never usually is with cars eh
  2. I just changed my front discs and pads abd the back was fine . . a general rule of thumb is that the front discs/pads do 70% of the work.
  3. After about an hour searching for this phantom drain hole under the ecu which i just couldnt find :wonder: i decided to take my own approach lol . . . I thought it would be a good place to start by removing the window wipers so that i could remove the plastic trim that runs along the bottom of the window, I removed both plastic caps then removed the 13mm buts that hold the wiper on. I then set up the jacking tool wich i had to jack the wipers off the sprocket. The i realised that Skoda window wipers would survive in almost any conditions they were on solid . . and i was putting a fair bit of pressure on them. So before i broke part of my wiper i abandoned that plan lol . . . i figured out that there would be enough room to get my hand down (and put my little brothers skinny arms to good use) if i just pulled the plastic trim up so i did this  . And i for a few handfulls of dirt and leaves lol . . . . But forfurther information i can conrifm that the actual drain drains the water into the passengers wheel arch . . i'll try get some pics up as soon as possible!!
  4. Cheers for the reply . . that cleared up where the drain should be but i still cant seem to get my finger on it :( do you know it the drain hole is under the insulation stuff thats stuck to the bulkhead? cheers
  5. Cheers bud . . Iv searched high and low for them and even looked for pictures on here but nothing lol. Its snowing just now so i'll give it a fingering tomoro If this fails . . might have to be a run to my loacal stealer
  6. Welcome . . Get a 1.9 diesel engine dropped in it haha then a remap
  7. Well i'v searched on here and found various threads regarding the problem but none seem to have helped me The prolem is the dreaded glovebox leak . . Iv removed my pollen fillter and dryed it off but everytime it rains more and more water keeps getting in. Iv read that there are drains holes that get clogged up but noone seems to know exactly where they are So living in scotland i'd like to get the prblem fixed as soon as! Anyone got any suggestions or a picture to show me where these drain holes are as iv looked but cant seem to find them lol. Cheers

  10. Yeh i got a set free when i got my car, only thing is that with the crappy weather and all the grit on the road they were getting a bit worse for wear. Might try and get some good old cleaner into them and try scrub them up a bit.
  11. Anyone ever got a set of these directly from skoda? Was just wondering what price they came in around . . . Old ones are getting a bit dirty
  12. Did you find out what the squeaking was ? . . Mine has started it as well only seems to be developing the same prob not sure what it is might need to have a look tonight.
  13. Just a wee update . . washed my car the other day whilst there was a break in this cold weather, wasnt sure about using the hose as i didnt want to cause any water getting inside again but after taking care everything was all and dry so im just hoping that it was the volume of water out the bucket that just gave the small drains to much to cope with. so touch wood its dry for now lol. Cheers for the help guys.
  14. Yeh i'll need to think again then. . at work just now so i'll try have a look when i get home just hope its not to dark lol. Im thinking that what you said about the amount of water from the bucket has just been to much is right as i washed the car a few days before and didnt come across this problem.
  15. Yeh true bud . . i was thinking about giving the car a quick go over with the hose to see if it spills into the footwell. I'll try finding the holes and give them a quick clean out. Thanks for the help
