  1. Had a look today, the battery and housing was in the way but after taking that out, it was easy enough to see. Unfortunately the torx bolt wasn't easy to see or access as it was under the sensor (from the top) so I couldn't get the sensor out, but the wires seemed ok and the connector had continuity. Its in for service in a couple of weeks so I'll get it checked by them I guess. 🤪
  2. Thanks for the reply, its a manual gearbox, no, the reversing lights don't work either 🙂
  3. I've done everything I can, reset the infotainment system, swapped the fuse, just in case, checked to see if it has any fault codes, nothing. I should correct what I said about the camera, it doesn't have a camera, just visual representation of the back of the car on the screen, with the coloured markers that change as you get closer. I am leaning towards the reversing light switch on the gearbox, as that 'must' have something to do with instigating the whole, reversing sensors etc. Normally, when reverse is engaged, you'll hear a beep, to show reverse is selected, that isn't happening either. Can anyone help, perhaps with pics, of where the switch is located on the gear box and how is best to access it from the engine bay (top) as I have no way to safely get underneath? 😁
  4. Hi, @Stuart8 can you tell me where the switch is located please, can it be accessed with a ramp?
  5. As title really, they have just stopped working. According to the manual the fuse is shared with several other systems, but these are working so it can't be that, right? Help 🤗
  6. Hi All, Been a while but sadly 2 months ago I hit a dog, which caused some damage to the front end (RIP Dog) was drivable so it took 6 weeks to get the insurance to get it into the garage for the repairs. Took 1 week to complete the repairs. Got it back last week. Looks and works ok but something doesn't look right so I thought I would ask you lot for your opinions. The air con radiator had to be replaced as well as the crash(?) bar and front bumper. Some pics are attached. My question, the new radiator doesn't appear square/straight, should it be? As I have no idea if it were straight prior to the collision.................. Thanks in anticipation :0)
  7. Just fixed mine, takes a bit of faffing on an estate but until then I had no idea of where to start, cheers!!
  8. I think just the bases would be great, how much did you have in mind?
  9. Its this colourway, but that said I might get away with just changing the foam if the cloth was different, as that's where the pesky stuff is hiding
  10. Hey All, Any help on where I can get hold of new foam for the rear seats, long story short but I managed to get the rear seat contaminated with the liquid from one of those crystal moisture absorbers (doh) so of course if I dry it out it just comes back when there is any moisture in the car, so ANY help would be very much appreciated!
  11. Pair here if needed! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290614961476?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  12. Dumb ass question here! Had the issue of wipers not working, looked at handbook to try and find out about the fuses, book says fuse 15 is the wipers, yay I thought, so I off'd the fuse cover, but to my surprise there was no fuse diagram on the rear of the cover, as in all my other cars. No diagram in my handbook either. Solved the issue by taking out each 10A fuse one at a time, checking it until I found one that looked gone, then swapped out the one that obviously took care of the interior lights, put that in, way hay, wipers working. My question......................surely there must be a fuse diagram somewhere, that cannot be the way it should be done??
  13. Ello, Changed the problematic steering sensor last week, but the dash light is still coming on some times, although not as much as before, had it hooked up to a Sealey reader today to clear the fault codes, it showed no faults logged........................any ideas?
  14. Cheers for the replys, MikeSM56, I did read that part of the how to you know LOL but the guy in the garage where I bought the part seemed to think that as the problem was intermitent that it should reset without the need for VAG COM, I will try the switch it on for a few minutes thing tho, then off to man with a VC...............at least I hope he has one! Anyone near Chippenham, Wiltshire with one just in case................beer tokens???? :P
  15. Hi, So I took the plunge and bought a new sensor for my 03 Fabia estate, as it was suffering from the all to common steering sensor issue where the light comes on when you start the engine. Ok, so I got the old one out, no probs, got the new one in but it fits into the housing both ways, ie you can put it in then take it out revolve ie 180 degrees and put it back in, foolishly when I took the old one out I assumes it would only fit one way so didn't take much notice of which way it came out. So the question, does it matter? If so which way, the picture on the helpful how to below seems to show that the area where the wiring attaches is slightly closer to the left hand side as you look at it from below. http://www.fabia-vrs.com/technical-info/pas-sensor-change/ Next point, when you fit the new one, assuming I have fitted it correctly, should the system reset itself or will I have to get it hooked up to VAG com to clear any fault codes? Currently with the new fitted the light still comes on as before? Your worldly help would be most appreciated?? Cheers Tracy
  16. Hi, Have been searching a bit on here but cant find anyone else with the same issue. Which was a surprise, as my car has most of the common things wrong with it! The plastic bar on the side of the drivers seat to adjust the height is a bit loose, also very much in the way. Every time I get in you can hear it ratchet several times. Because of its position you leg lightly brushes it, so I need to readjust my seat every 2-3 trips! Very annoying, anyone have any ideas? For a girl I am pretty practical (just fitted a new head unit and cup holder) but this part is not covered in my Haynes Manual LOL
  17. Loose his job................are you nuts? Yeah he was a plonker, but the facts have been told to us by one side only, everyone see's things and interprets attitude differently, I think most of the young people I meet are A holes, but there probably not!
  18. So, when I got my new car, it came with the typical broken silver key hook on the remote fob missing. Had a poke around eBay and found these people. Ordered one up, I offered £10.50 which was excepted, so £13 delivered for the bottom part of the key fob, took seconds to swap the battery and electronics over, and voila! No idea if that is cheap but seemed ok. The fob is well made and fits perfectly with the top half of the original key. So have a look! eBay My World - key-fobs-for-you
  19. I may wander down and have a look.........................as I live 3/4 mile from the circuit, free too!
  20. Ok, so I have just bought a 2003 Fabia Estate TDi Elegance, nice engine etc but the crappest cup holder set up I have ever seen! Anyway, I have searched this forum and found loads of info, and have just returned from a trip to a Skoda parts department. They say I cant get a cup holder to fit in the DIN sized push out drawer under the stereo or in either of the slots to the side of the stereo and drawer, I don't think that's true? So that's my question, can I get some dashboard cup holders or not?? Cheers peeps :D
  21. New to the forum, so hi to all, gonna be asking lots of stupid questions no doubt, so bare with me. Just got a Fabia 1.9 TDi Elegance, nothing exciting I know!!
