Afternoon chaps. It's been a while since I've posted.
Ive got a slight issue with my car. I've changed all the injectors and the injector wiring loom and it's still misfiring. Luckily it happened 10 miles from home so hopefully no damage has been done. Since it's been misfiring it's got an oil leak. Would this be causing excess pressure and forcing the oil out of a seal? I'm yet to get under the car to see where it's coming from.

I've literally searched everywhere for the answer.
Does anyone one know what size they are? Are they 69mm or 72.5mm?

Awesome thread. Pretty good little write up of the Yeti here too:
Someone actually done research and a write up correctly, I'm shocked!

Thruxton review,
All started well Friday morning. An early start to get to the track, van fully loaded with parts, tools and fuel.
Myself and Richard headed out on track in the Skoda Octavia vRS course car for a few laps with an instructor. That is when you realise just how fast Thruxton really is. I was told the average speed is 90MPH.
Friday was the test day for the CSCC. Started slowly, before going all out. Had some fun with an E-Type and a Elan. Just under an hour on track and everything is good. Successful days testing and familiarising myself with the track.
Race day.
Excited! But short lived.Out for qualifying, Major misfire from leaving the pits, fine up to 6,000RPM or full throttle. I get 4 slow laps in to get my place on the grid (3 laps have to be completed to get placed).
I come into the pits where the guys come running over as they heard the car wasn't right, push on the HT leads and its good to go.
Back out and its all good! 8,000RPM of screaming Ford awesomeness. Well for a few laps anyway. Managed to get from P21 to P12 within 3 Laps with a still misfiring car albeit intermittent.
After qualifying we inspect the car, spark plugs out to clean and inspect. Going to refit them and no3 is just spinning. The thread in the head has stripped and that was why the HT lead popped up in qualifying. Well I say HT lead, I mean the whole spark plug. We spoke about what could be done and maybe trying to helicoil the plug hole, but I really didn't want to risk anything from the process going into the cylinders and causing even more damage. So thats it, game over.
Hopefully get the head off the car soon and send it off to be done and do anything else to that car thats needed.
It sucks massively, but thats motorsport.
Got a pint for me and the guys helping and watched some racing.

True, wasn't sure if that was public knowledge or not.
He announced it on Facebook, popped along to his workshop last weekend. Brilliant setup he's got there.

Mine was working up until recent, it comes on with the headlights. Not sure if the ignition needs to be on or not.

As its only going to be us on the list going, it's not going to be as busy as a normal track day.

It's been a while since I've seen this thread. You've really cracked in with this. Some serious engineering there! I'll make sure I'm at a track day when this is about.

This one is a bit special to me. 20 years of being best mates with Skippy, growing up playing playstation and talking about "racing when we're older" and here we are. Our first race together.
Just thought I'd share that naff bit of information. [emoji6]

Bit of a disappointing race for myself. I was sitting around 8th in qualifying for a few laps, but ran wide a few times and lost my fastest laps which put me back to 12th on the grid.
I had a bit of a moment in qualifying... Paddock Hill and cold tyres...
After the restart from the first corner collision, the guys and lady in the pit pulled me in straight away. Exactly what I wanted to do but I couldn't communicate with the pit crew while we was waiting on the grid. Luckily enough Hannah has mind reading skills and showed me the "pit" on the first lap.
We had one of the slowest pit stops of the day with a balls up of doing the harness up when I got back in the car. Back out on track in 21st position, now the racing starts.
Eventually made my way up to 12th position with other cars choosing to pit and some overtakes.
But it all ended with a bad decision from myself. I choose not to bleed the brakes after qualifying which resulted in the pedal going to the floor, I had a split second decision to make, attempt to take the corner and risk colliding with Richard or pump the brakes and go for the gravel. As soon as the pedal hit the floor I knew it was game over. Luckily enough for me the car stopped in the gravel about a foot off of the tyre wall. First thought was go for reverse but I knew it was buried deep.
Yeah it sucks but I'm still learning. Only my third race but I'm up there in the top 10 mixing it with the big boys that's been doing this for years.

I've always wondered what people take that corner at, especially in race cars setup, race tyres etc.
At the limit of grip [emoji6]

The question is: who's driving it?

I'm sure you'll have some inside info soon... Or just wait and see at Brands. [emoji6]

Shame about Richard though, love to see that fester given a lashing for a whole race.

It's one of those things. Seriously irritating and annoying but when a car is at the spec that it is, things don't always go to plan.
I was really looking forward to racing with Richard but it wasn't to be. Hopefully at Brands it will be spot on and we will see how we both do with lap times. Me and Richard know Brands quite well.

An entertaining watch Danny, well done, like the others I was shouting at my iPad lol
Thanks Mike, I was having a right go at myself watching it back. Brands Hatch next. I'm really looking forward to it.

You get the red mist and then you start to make mistakes. A couple of times the Peugeot got away from me as I carried too much speed into the corner.
Always a Peugeot in front.
Even at Snetterton I had a good battle for a few laps with Carl in another Peugeot.
What I like is back in 2000 when the Focus was built for the BTCC, it was racing that actual green Peugeot. 16 years on, and they are still battling it out on track. Two very competitive cars, I've just got to get used to the Focus.

Lol! I was shouting feck him Danny stick it up him next time he cuts across. David Coulthard says it's a racing incident every time someone does on the f1. If that excuse is good enough for him then it's good enough for Danny! [emoji23]

Haha but these are our own cars. Damage comes out of the funds for the next race. I'd rather wait for the opportunity to pass than risk damaging the car or even worse taking us both out and writing them off!
They are all a good bunch of guys out there. If there's a blatantly faster car approaching they move out the way and let them pass. One of the DC5s was coming up behind me and fast, no point trying to defend as he's already lapped me!!

I'll finish watching it when I get home was sat watching it enjoying myself shouting at the tablet, when I remembered this was using my interweb data on my phone.
