I wouldn’t get too hung up on the personal statement, just keep it straightforward and don’t let it put you off applying. I learn more about potential learners at an initial advice guidance interview and it’s that chat that gives me the information to suggest a course and offer a place on a course.

I work in Further Education, on a statement I would be looking at why you want to do the course and what your plans might be, I use the statement as a chance to find out about the learner and an opportunity to check the course is right to you. They are good to base your initial advice and guidance conversation on and steer a learner in the right direction. Remember to tell the college about your dysphasia on the application form, colleges have additional learning support funding to help you with you learning. If you looking at a course for the next academic year apply now it demonstrates to the college you are planning ahead and thinking seriously about the course.

I went from a 66 plate Octavia to a 19 plate Karoq SEL and we did get a good deal at the time, ended up with extras for free as dealer keen to sell a stock car and a good trade in deal. Like the Karoq as well equipped in SEL spec. I do miss the Octavia boot space occasionally, but outweighed by Karoq comfort and driving position like the higher driving position and refinement. Spec on the SEL is good.

I have been running a 1.6 for over a year and find that it has adequate power, will keep up with traffic ok. Although you do have to plan overtake in places like the autobahn as the traffic moves that much faster. It is a nice stable drive and eats up the miles with ease on a long run. Ours has taken us across Germany and France on a couple of occasions. Mind you it's rarely driven fully laden. I don't tow and no little about towing, but I would have thought it would be a little underpowered with a caravan and all seats occupied.

I ran a green line for nearly 3 years, not the fastest car in the world but adequate for the give and take roads we have. If you go for a green line only available as a manual.

Not on a Superb, but on my wife's last Octavia we had two incidents of birds eating the seals on the sunroof. The birds were spotted doing it. Needless to say when we changed the car, sunroof was on the options list. The seal was £105 a time😕

Try baby wipes they seem to remove anything. Autoglyms interior shampoo is good

Its the first car I have owned that I need a step ladder to clean the roof and I am not the tallest person either. it provides entertainment for my neighbours when I clean the car🙂

Mine is a manual 1.6 sel, had it since April and just about to clock up 10k. It replaced a 1.6 Octavia, impressed with how smooth and quiet it is. Taken us to Holland and the other end of Germany. It does a mixture of motorway, a road and crowded south London on a daily basis. It won’t win any races but it had more than enough go for everyday use and certainly on our long runs was more than adequate to keep up with the traffic. Don’t keep a close tally on the mpg but 500 or so miles per tank is about right.

This time last year we were running both, boot size on both good. The estate felt like it was easier to load bigger bulkier items because of the rear window has less of an angle. Now have just a hatch and boot is plenty big enough for everyday use.

Had similar problems, but solved with advice from physio and the link in this thread. Had the seat set to high and straightened the back rest. Took a bit of fiddling with settings to get it right. Physio gave me some exercises warned it can take up to 10 weeks to settle.

Currently getting about around 53 to the gallon. I do a mixture of motorway and around the town on daily basis.

Mine arrived in the Uk last Friday, dealer phoned today to say it is scheduled to be with them tomorrow and we should have it on Tuesday. Taken about a month to get from Emden to the dealer, came in via Sheerness as going down to the South coast.

Fortunately mine has only been there for three weeks,. I have been told the same story too many cars and not enough transport we have a good relationship with the dealer as we have used them a lot over the past 10 years, so I know I am being told an honest story. Hopefully it'll turn up soon.

My Karoq is in the same position as your Superb stuck in Emden and it will come in via Sheerness as the dealership is based on the South coast. Dealer is helpful and frustrated because they are waiting for a few cars to come through.

We have a heated screen on Mrs Rubbles Octavia and it was the only option I wanted on the Karoq that I have on order. Really useful feature on a cold morning. Heated front seats are good and can get quite warm another nice feature on a cold morning.

It shows the back seats, will show up if someone is sitting in one and will then show when they have put a seatbelt on. Goes out after a short while.

It is a lottery and seems to depend on the dealers, ordered 1.6 SEL yesterday and was quoted 26 week build time. However, the dealer had some stock cars in the system, they have converted one of these to the spec we wanted, Business Grey and the only extra being a Heated Front Screen, result should be with us by the end of March

Might be worth checking the battery, I have just had the battery changed under warranty as it gave up the ghost. I had all sorts of odd running conditions leading up to the battery failure and one of those was a persistent high idle speed.

Had a similar issue with Enterprise via Skoda Assist apparently the contract they hold says they have to give you a Volkswagen Audi Group car. In the end they initially gave me a Vauxhall which I then had to swap with for a Passat. The policy seemed a bit stupid and I pushed as I needed to get to work. Guess what the cause of the breakdown was a knackered battery replaced under warranty.

Definitely warranty in my case, Skoda assistance tech, boosted battery and followed me down to dealer organised hire car, typical failed on a Sunday. Dealer recharged battery kept car overnight but battery didn't hold charge so replaced under warranty. I have a feeling it had been going for a while as occasionally slow to start up and stop start not always kicking in.
