  1. Thanks for the replies everyone. Skoda4x4man - I did see that very post but I really would like a DSG and his is a manual, otherwise it would already be sold ...
  2. Thanks Colin. Mostly A55 and only occassional snowy day on the way to work so sounds like FWD may be the more sensible option.
  3. Hi everyone I'm currently looking at Superb's. I'm after 170hp Elegance estate with DSG, probably around a 2012 plate. I have seen a handful of cars on Autotrader that I may be interested in, though a couple are 4x4. This isn't something I really need as I don't plan to tow anything so should I discard these cars and stick to the front wheel drive vehicles? More to go wrong perhaps? Additional servicing - haldex service every 40k - not sure how expensive this is? Fuel economy? I do around 30k a year - mostly motorway miles. Thanks for reading.
  4. I have an 07 L&K and mine came with 17" wheels as standard and it has the standard suspension. I thought the sports suspension was an option.
  5. I always 'forget' to turn them on as well as all my other cars (all Japanese) turned the heated mirrors on with the rear window. I prefer to leave my mirror switch over to the 'left' mirror as that enables the wing mirror dip when you put it in reverse.
  6. It doesn't. Bluetooth is an additional module which can integrate with the Bolero though.
  7. Does this mean I wouldn't need to get someone with VCDS to code up the new head unit for Maxidot / Steering Wheel Controls? Thanks .
  8. I have heated seats in my L&K and have really appreciated them the past week or so. They heat up before I get to the end of the road where it takes the heater a good 10 minutes or so to get warm. I have the alacantra trim and not leathe if it makes a difference. Having said all that, I would'nt count them as a must have when I buy my next car.
  9. I have the Audience H/U. It has six disc built into that and it can not control an external CD changer. I think it is this feature you require for MDI (I believe it replaces the external changer ability?). The Audience H/U also had an option for amp + additional speakers so if you have these it may not be simple to install a Bolero.
  10. Octavia is 4 stars when tested in 2004, I guess there weren't enough changes after 2007 to warrant a retest? http://www.euroncap....a_2004/206.aspx It says they test the Ambiente model, I'm not sure if the higher spec cars would score higher. My L&K has more airbags as standard, etc
  11. I was charged £125 last week from my local dealer. The main reason I go there is convenience as it's the closest garage to me (walking distance) and I can get a courtesy car from them so I don't have to take time off work.
  12. I have an Audience without the extra amp / speaker package and think it easily sounds as good as the Bolero / Columbus systems fitted in our works pool cars so personally I would upgrade for the sound quality, but I definately like the features and looks of the newer systems more than the Audience.
  13. I'm interested in doing this, does anyone know if it's an MOT requirement?
  14. As you guys have the Audience I'd guess you also have the steering wheel controls - do these work with the Bolero? I'd considering this upgrade but use those controls a lot so wouldn't want to lose them.
