  1. I’ve been given a Superb IV, as a company car. It’s “OK”, but do feel quite let down with it at times... I struggle with the headed seats, can any one shed any light? Occasionally they are quite hot, but of the time you can’t notice they are on. I’ve been trying windows open/heating on etc but can’t find a link! The infotainment system has been buggy, and would just randomly crash and hang... Though it updated last week so will see if it improves.. I drove to a site late evening, and back early hours of the morning. 172 mile round trip, which cost me around £18 in fuel. At the moment, I can only charge the car at site, not at home. I only ever drive the car in hybrid mode, not in battery mode. Is this the right thing? All my journeys are on the motorway. A full charge will normally do me about 170 odd miles before battery is on 0 miles. Think I’m averaging about 50MPG cheers
  2. Sorry Techie, they are depos which have come off a 2001
  3. Evening all Managed to source some xenon headlights, but they are from a 2001 (they are depos) Will these fit my 06 VRS? I've tried to have a research but can't find anything! Are the VRS headlights the same as the fabia range? Did they change the headlights at any point (facelift etc?) Cheers
  4. Afternoon all, I've tried searching but it hasn't pulled much great results, it seems MPG isn't so important anymore! ;-) What MPG do people get in the real world, and not what the computer tells them? Reason is, my commute is 50 miles each way. I would say 40 miles of it is motorway, with the rest being dual carriages and normal roads either side. If I sit at 65 the whole way, the computer reckons I'm getting anywhere between 65-75MPG on the run. But, when I work out miles vs how much fuel went in, it's only 50MPG? Which to me does seem a little low... I remember reading before about MAFs, and I know my intercooler had a hole, which was repaired but maybe it's still leaking... Any other ideas, or is that pretty much all I'll get? Cheers!
  5. Yours is at a decent mileage. Mines currently rapidly getting to 150k, this time next year will be in 175/180k (providing she doesn't need any major bits!) Last year I probably spent close to a grand keeping her on the road! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Wish I knew this before! Literally just forked out £180ish for 2 rears Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yes mate. Check your driveshafts for play (my pass side had play going in and out of the box), replacing that cured it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Likewise. I know the clutch on the Fabia isn't on its last legs, it's snatchy as anything and never had it slip, even trying to make it slip. Saying that though, most of my mileage is motorways so mileage isn't always an indication of condition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Not sure on original. I bought it last year on 120k and its now on 150k. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. As long as it doesn't slip, or no horrible noises I would say don't worry. Mine is fairly low (like within first quarter of pedal) and its solid, and I give it hell sometimes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. This was some years ago, and was 4.2 RS6s (we use the same spec oil!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Buy the cheap lead mate, can be got for 20-30 quid these days! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Which make do you know? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Evening all Looking at getting a new headunit in the Fabia, but unsure what to go for. Ideally double DIN with aux/Bluetooth (USB is ok, but eventually kills the battery as phone is constantly charging!!), seen a couple of android ones I like the look of What have people got at the moment? Pictures etc would be good! Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I'll take one, Pm with your details please! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You still selling these? I'll drop you a PM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Afternoons all, I'll try explain this best I can, although it isn't easy. The Fabia has developed a new problem! It's only happened 2/3 times over the last couple of weeks. Basically, the first time it shown it self as a knocking, which sounded like something spinning (ie it had a rhythm to it), it seemed to be related to revs, as when I changed down it got quicker. But the noise stopped when clutch dipped, and if I revved it there was no noise. It came back yesterday, but louder. The new symptom was a violent shake on the steering wheel from side to side, which gradually got worse and worse. I eventually pulled over, saw nothing amiss then moved off and it was completely fine? Noise seems to be coming from front pass side. I then went to take my mechanic out in it , we gave it hell and it drove perfectly. The only thing we noticed was the drive shaft and play going in and out of the box on the front pass side, but that's it. Any one got any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Sorry it's a very late reply! It turned out to be the alternator load wire. We had repaired it previously, but it had been disturbed whilst carrying out other work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Evening all, The battery light on my fabia VRS keeps coming on for a few seconds, then going out when you add load to it (ie lights on, turning the wheel) Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Nope, it has a standard air filter. Fairly sure it wasn't doing it when I got it. Although you can see the side of the air filter, as if the lid isn't on properly? I presumed that was normal? And haven't had the wheels off just yet, simply haven't had a chance! Just wondered if there was anything common that people have had before Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Well I knew the map readers were specific to what direction they were inserted but didn't know the festoon was! I did wonder how the main light could be affected but not the maps, least it's sorted! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Never mind bulb was the wrong way round! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. New owner of a mk1 Fabia, just a couple of things that have tested their head! First of all, a rattling from (what sounds like) the rear when going over rough roads. Also only seems to do it when the rear wheels hit a dip etc. Anyone have an idea what that could be? Secondly, there is a whooshy/wind noise when going into boost. It's not the normal whistle (can hear that faintly), any ideas? Much appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. afternoon all! Attempted to upgrade the bulbs in the interior light to LED (well they were LED before, but an awful purple colour!) Forgetting to turn the light off, I put the festoon in and it flashed on and off whilst it briefly made contact. Turned it off and refitted it, and fitted the map lights too. Now, when I turn all of them on, the map lights come on but the main one doesn't. I have tried another bulb, even the old bulb but now it doesn't work. Any one have any ideas? I checked the fuse (5? Interior light fuse) in the fuse box but that seemed fine. Anyone have any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Just to update it, a pre05 Connects2 kit did work with a face lifted VRS! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
