Please upgrade to a current Ross tech interface error
Dana@Ross-Tech replied to aldouk's topic in Diagnostics & VCDS
Hi Tom, If memory serves that was a bug in earlier VCDS versions, meaning ignorance was bliss. When we realized that VW/Audi started using extremely long Adp value strings -and- the older Legacy interfaces (HEX-USB+CAN and Micro-CAN) could not modify Adaptation channels that exceed 256 byte lengths the warning was added to VCDS. At that time we were able to make the newest HEX-NET and V2 interfaces capable of the modifications but we could not port that into the Legacy interfaces. I'm pretty sure our awareness began in Beta 17. For example, my '17 Alltrack maps do not have the byte size in this thread: http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?8917-2017-NAR-Golf-Alltrack .. but this post (from another user) included the Byte size in his Adp maps and there were a LOT of 256 channels : http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?12941-2018-Golf-GTI-Reference-Scan-(with-17-12-BETA)&p=117602&viewfull=1#post117602 In conclusion, we didn't take any functions/features away and I don't think an earlier VCDS version would have been capable of properly saving massive channels with a HUC. I see you recently joined our forum so feel free to post any factory condition maps/scans, the Coding and Adp logs found in the Debug folder in addition to the current configuration maps/scans there for review. -
Please upgrade to a current Ross tech interface error

Gizmo has that %100 correct. The only thing I'll add is some Distributors can offer upgrade (trade-in) discounted pricing. For that reason you may want to ping your dist (that looks like an Ilexa label) to see what they can offer. I believe you'll see that 4B-Multifunc. Module in any of the latest 2018 factlifted cars with LED headlights. For instance Andy's NAR (US market) 2018 A3 e-tron uses it but an older 2016 (pre-facelift with Xenon) A3 would not. Ref scan: http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?12616-2018-Audi-A3-e-tron -
That should get you started and if you need any assistance post the before and after VCDS Auto-Scans here for review.

I think Sebastian wanted to know what parts were checked or replaced, but the 074 test passing in a shop environment might not be conclusive. If the exhaust system is restricted and causing excessive back-pressure (perhaps related to the P0420 code) while driving or the EGR is sticking internally at times that may explain the fault codes. Did you run Output tests? The freeze frame data in Generic OBD-II may be helpful if the vehicle is complaint: http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/tour/obd-2.html

Activating criuse control with VCDS-lite
Dana@Ross-Tech replied to musicmaster5000's topic in Diagnostics & VCDS
Hi, I see this is resolved but we have a page on that now: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Checking_Cruise_Control_using_Measuring_Values -
Thanks for the update! It seems as if 1C is a Superb Sedan, so we were close but not correct. 31 should be a Superb Wagon/Combi ant this should finally be restored back to stock. If you happen to notice anything else, aside from the rear sidelights, please let me know. -Dana

Hi Guys! Martin, I updated the results in the VW Vortex so far: For those with Byte 18 issues... (MK6) I was going to ask you privately (via email) to try another setting, but I'll go ahead and ask openly since this is the best location for the info. Please try coding Byte 18 from 1C (which has corrected the complete lack of DRLs) to 31 Hex | 00110001 and let me know the results. Nick, I haven't forgotten about you but I am concerned about any more experimental coding since the dealer had to resolve this the last time. Sinclair, My apologizes in advance but I do not remember the details about this vehicle. Did we email or chat on the VW Vortex? Post up a complete Auto-Scan or send it via email if you prefer.

If this is a 2010 MY you should have a BCM / 09 module installed and the Long Coding Helper will contain the coding information when connected to the vehicle. Post the complete Auto-Scan prior to modifications if you can't find the settings and this is a genuine VCDS system. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf/Golf_Plus_%285K/52%29_Tweaks

Coding new gateway, urgent help req'd!
Dana@Ross-Tech replied to dan yeates's topic in Diagnostics & VCDS
Yes, the 8T0 was one of the first GWs to use the shorter coding and [installation List] but the 7N0 modules are similar: http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/tour/recode_screen.html#Gateway As a general rule of thumb, even on older systems, using the [installation List] feature is preferred. Normally GW replacements aren't due to failure, rather upgrades when copy and paste cannot be used due to the length of the coding. -
That depends on the Immo system that's installed: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Immobilizer What are the details about this vehicle and which component(s) are going to be replaced?

See if my 2010 Golf (similar UDS protocol cluster setup) results help: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4868432-Fuel-Gauge-Adaption-2010-Jetta&p=66099017&viewfull=1#post66099017

That looks like the motor is actually stuck, or the flap door has an obstruction of some sort. Since this is the Recirc. Flap I'm guessing it's very near the Air Pollen filter. If that's like the VW equivalent, I think you can remove the pollen filter and gently push the flap door or look at the movement while running Basic Settings. I would not prevent it from moving during the test, but see if it sticks.

Yeti with TPMS switch ABS Module Coding required
Dana@Ross-Tech replied to Pramods's topic in Diagnostics & VCDS
Thanks for the update! This also corrected the RoW Golf/GTD vehicle I mentioned via email and he had installed the switch, so the cluster coding (Byte 2, Bit 0) was the missing link. -Dana -
You can run and save the complete Auto-Scan prior to any coding modifications as shown here: http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/tour/autoscan.html I would personally save a backup of the scan in another location for a backup, emailing it to yourself or coping to a flash drive would be sufficient. Depending on the installed module, fogs as cornering lights should be possible: http://octavia-vrs.com/cms/content/enabling-cornering-light-function http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/Golf5.html The 2001 Audi S6 will be limited due to the age and (lack of) diagnostic capability. You should be able to tweak the windows via remote and a few other minor modifications to that car: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec36.shtml
