  1. Not sure what the max capacity is, but I bought a tiny 32GB USB drive, (mostly) filled it with music and plugged it in. Works a treat and doesn't take too long to start up. I remember a mate of mine attaching a 320GB USB hard drive to his MDI in his Octavia and that worked too, assuming it's similar technology in the Rapid (the radio shows MDI as the input device). I'm more than happy with the USB drive, it's small, no phone/ipod knocking around in the centre console and no cables stretching across the dash to a mount... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cruzer-Fit-Flash-Drive-SDCZ33-016G-B35/dp/B00812F7O8?th=1 That's the drive I use, 32GB version although they do a 64GB version too
  2. I use the Decathlon 300 cycle carrier, I wouldn't put more than two bikes on it though, I reckon a third would be pushing it https://www.decathlon.co.uk/300-rear-cycle-carrier-3-bikes-id_8342387.html The Rapid isn't in the instruction manual for the settings so you need to play around a bit to get the fit right, if I remember correctly I started on the same settings as a Polo and tweaked it from there, once I got the fit right I used some white paint to mark it off so I could set it back up again correctly without having to remember the numbers (of course, i could have just noted them down in the phone or something too) Here's the car with just my bike on it
  3. I have an app on my phone that tracks my position, my girlfriend doesn't worry if I keep moving... she can also see exactly where I am if I have a problem I can't fix and can then navigate to me if I ever need a lift home :-)
  4. Ouch, I came off earlier this year (on my first ride of the year which was also the first time I'd been on the bike since before my youngest was born in September). Kept me off the bike for a couple of weeks, swollen hand (nothing broken), sore shoulder where i was brought to a halt by someones wheelie bin and some nice road rash for me...
  5. Cheers, previous longest ride was under 60 miles (and about 4000 feet elevation), at 80 miles or so I was beginning to think I'd attempted too much but the couple of guys I was riding with gave me plenty of encouragement right til the end.
  6. Started cycling last year after at least 15 years without owning a bike. Had some gaps of weeks or months when I didn't get on the bike (life just getting in the way) Completed my first 100 mile ride earlier though https://www.strava.com/activities/607275518 Have to admit I was really struggling the last few miles. Pictured is my bike at the start and me with one of my biggest fans at the end of the ride
  7. Trying to give other people a chance then by being at work?
  8. 15 miles when I drive, 12 miles if I cycle. The driving route bypasses a section that is almost always heavily congested but not too bad to get through on the bike. Normally takes about 40 minutes driving and about 45 minutes cycling, thankfully we have a shower at work for the days I cycle in... I reckon an hour each way to permanent place of work is ok although I'd stretch that by a few minutes for a really great job. My last job I was hardly ever in the office but it's lovely not doing 30000 miles a year as well and the 8 or 9 hours working on customer sites any more.
  9. No idea who she is, but the car is a Volvo Amazon
