Octavia TDI 2002 Elegance estate, I have had problems with my front wipers for over a year now, it always seems to be when the temp outside is low this winter and last, they either won't work or seem stiff and on a recent trip coming home this week, I had to pull over 3 times to manualy grab them to make them work again, when the weather warms up no probs, I will def have to have a look this spring and sort it.

So what do you think Linkage, or wiper motor? any known probs? Can't stick another winter of this.

Can anyone recommend good replacement front discs for my 2002 Octavia 110 elegance estate, The pattern ones that where fitted by the garage when I brought it are already warped, and I had the same problem when using pattern front discs and even rear drums on my Pug 405 estate I used to own.

So it’s either a case of I will have to cough up for factory ones from Skoda or do you know of a good supplier that sells discs that are as good?

[Tdi 110 Losing Power At High Revs!]

Been there done that, same year and model as yours. I came on here some months back with this problem which haunts this model, bloody VNT, I listened to all the good advice, some good folk on here, I prayed it would be anyone of the other faults listed, but knew in my heart what it was, so after spending a small fortune having a new turbo fitted no more problems since may last year, I am lucky that I know some good people at a trad country garage in suffolk, and they don't charge the earth or rip you off, I have always tried to do most jobs over the years on my cars, but this one I am glad I paid for, Had the belts done at the same time, I have heard tales of people cleaning them out, but it does not seem to work for the long term too hit and miss I felt considering I wanted to keep the car for some time as yet, Garret or vw should be shot for the pain of this bloody idea, imo. [Tdi 110 Losing Power At High Revs!]

hi, just bought a 2002 octavia tdi 110 estate, 77k with full dealer history etc. When driving normally it runs great, but on a few occassions when i have put the foot down, as it reaches about 3500-4000 revs, the power suddenly drops out. The car will continue to drive, and will still do 60-70mph but is just lacking power. There is no black or white smoke, no signs of coughing oil. Is this likely to be a map sensor or faulty boost valve?? Assume this is limp mode, as when i turn off and leave five minutes, car runs normally again. Any advice welcome. Hope to take to local vw/audi specialist tomorrow.

no that fits in the hole for your door mirror wiring to go through, it seals it from the outside cold/noise i assume.

Yer door mirror hole, got it all back together now, ta for your help, ahh what happened to the good ole days of just rods to operate the door catches :think:

[Curse of the P1557 on 2002 TDI]

I have one of the common problems that seem to curse these cars Charge pressure control positive deviation P1557 it comes and goes, as an experiment and I know it’s not a good idea but I have tried a few times when it starts to play up usually when you get to between 60 and 70 mph stopping the engine let it free wheel and restart it again and every time it picks straight up with no more problem. I have read on here about the sticky vanes etc but to my thinking it has to be some sort of electrical fault surely, the car has done about 130000 miles and has no other issues, any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.
