  1. yes i am aware of all design faults with this car as i have had it from new since nov 2006. and have taken advice from many different avenues on the engine . i know of the one that failed at 37000 miles . mine is far less than that .nobody can give on here the percentage of oil shaft failures per 100 cars / can i say most modern cars fail in some area. this car will go when i can decide what to buy in 2013
  2. filter under cowl is for air con i believe not engine . and yes i am aware of oil pump drive on bss 2.0 mine is very low milage so got some credit left. next new car wont be vag
  3. dumbo question is there an air filter on 2.0 pd i am aware of the air con one
  4. i need my next new car to tow 1100 kg of caravan i hope to change 2012 hoping my bss 22000 mile engine does not fail till then .i too are considering petrol such as 1.8 toyota valvematic no cambelt to change . no dpf worries. no dual massflywheel ibelieve .and no turbo. these are running costs idid not consider when i purchase new my car from the happy driver manufacturer plus atoyota 5year warr any comments?
  5. mines done 22000 i say prayer every time i tow our caravan .it sgoing before 30000 miles .never again vw/skoda

  7. mine had same problem until i over heated it in traffic jam on m62 at 13.700 miles cost 650 to repair. no funding from the manufactuer off happy drivers. but new clutch completly cured this issue now covered 20.000 06 2.0 tdi any oil pump bills?
  8. i was told by my ind skoda/ vw garage that if part had diff part no it was poss modified .its a grey area .no honest info from manufacturer.19.400 140 bss preying for another 11000 miles

  11. skodanut i see that skodacake has thred above that gives contact for manual in it if you open .you have the correct e mail address for skoda c/z may be worth contact them, ok in english it says about oil pump issue?
  12. bxr can i ask milage of this vechile ? i was unaware that there were any 140/s with 54 reg?
  13. with respect rotodiesel ,many of us bought these 140s new not knowing there would be any problem with our investment if i exchanged for a new totota it would cost me £10.000.today what weare trying to find out is how many miles might i get and has replacment part been modified yet? so far i have seen no positive ans to this issue , regards .
  14. skodanut when we purchased our 140 it was never mentioned about oil pump problems in the nov 2006. as the euiv engine was in brochure avaible from week42 16 oct o6. mine was manufactured in aug that year salesperson never informed us of any dpf i was told it was improved version of 1.9 that was not av then all stock gone. the correct manual was missing on del as was service book replacement did arrive but was 1.9 book i have made a number of enquires about oil pump but seems grey area last one was again to the manufacturer of happy drivers! still waiting for tel call 2weeks ago .car now done from new 18.640 so still got some credit left i pray.by the way my engine number is bss 005280 could you advise what yours is?and are you any where near having repair yet yes i am a UNHAPPY DRIVER . regards , john
  15. sorry can not help but i want info as well seems grey area. i e -mailed skoda, ans on this issue from them was no recalls .on my 140 bss engine asif they do not reconise any problem !
