  2. Can you remember the Reg of your MK1? Random question I know, but I bought an 07 MK1 a few years ago that was from your area. Just wondering if it was yours!

    think it was  sg07 cag

dont know how i remembered that cos i had private plate on it from owning - silver n  black leather and cruise - was a cracking car but i was always up in edinburgh and i couldnt get all the kit i needed to take with me in it.

  3. 195bhp sounds good .

I have my eye on a rally green hatch which is 6 months old a 400 miles for 13k or maybe I have seen yellow one for sale but has done 6k and is a year old but only 11k. Basically there are about 5 ex demo newly registered hatches around 13k with under 1000 miles and 6 months old that seam a wise move or save 2k and yet a year old one with 4-6k miles but a years less warranty before I have to extend it.

I really like the yellow one but is a 63 plate with 6k miles be a good bet?

It's also is fully spec up with heated seats, Bluetooth, parking sensors, cruise , black roof and so on

The 14 plates are basic spec but I'd fit a touchscreen head unit and reverse camera anyway so little point being fully loads

  4. I got offered 4800 for a 56 reg vrs which they proceeded to sell for 6800

It did need cam belt service and new glow plugs tho

    Chris

    Who was that with?

I've a march 07 vrs in silver with cruise and factory leather,60k n cam belt done n water pump done n they all seem to b takin the mickey not had an offer over £4800 and it's mint - full mot just done and 60k service - not impressed at all - might have to go down the private route now the pressures off with the vat deal extension.

    Cheers youngie

  5. To cheer you up this once happened to me about 15-20 years ago now when I was a younger whippa snapper - I caught the little fooker think he was about 14/15- gave him a good slap and then took him home to his parents because 1 of my passengers knew the lad and knew where he lived, his family were proper snobs, his dad was extremely embarassed and clipped him round the head a few times and then asked me to bring my car to the house the next day and his son and his mates would clean it- best valet I ever got - I saw the lad in a local pub a few years later and I chinned him again because he barged pass r lass n spilt her drink -if he'd have just apologised I'd have let it go,but no the same arrogant attitude - I didn't know it was the same lad at the time.

    Hope this helps

  6. I think there's another £500 quid in it your way to be fair - I take it it's a dealer therefore your getting a years Skoda warranty?

    Cambelt done ?

If not I'd push cam belt n water pump n next service free and they've got a deal otherwise if they are done push for more money - at the end of the day yours will go on forecourt for £10495 at least

Good choice bye the way but don't let them know your desperate to swap back to a fabia

    Cheers youngie

  7. Wish I'd have bought a fabia vrs first, I would have saved a lot of money. :'(

Amongst the cars I've owned (2 vauxhall zafira vxrs,an x3,a 320d sport estate- should never have sold this 1,2 freelanders old shape and a freelander 2). On the skoda side i had a mk1 petrol vrs then went for a mk2 diesel vrs which I just didn't get on with for some strange reason as It ticked all the boxes and had every extra when I was looking to buy, and I'm now knocking round in a silver fab 07, no mods yet :-) but I was lucky to get it with cruise and factory leather (interior colour was probably the only thing that put me off a fabia in the first place)

I've got to say im extremely impressed with performance(seems much quicker than my old pd octy) and economy, and the cheaper road tax and insurance

It's bit of a no brainer when u take a step back and look at it (although I have wasted a fortune on motors to get to the position Im in now)

Just glad I'm now happy now  but should have done it years ago. :D

  8. The trouble I have with autos, isn’t driving them, it’s when I get back into a manual and forget to put the clutch in as I come to a stop emoticon-0111-blush.gif I should add this is only after many months of continuously driving an auto :D

Haha I've just gone from 8 months in a freelander auto to a fabia vrs and I've stalled it at least 3 times since picking it up Saturday. Mrs keeps lookin at me stupid - I just coast up to roundabouts and forget the clutch lol - it must b my age

  9. well set off at 6am this morning in the freelander - got down to garage for about 10 - did the deal n drove back 210 miles with a permanent grin on my face - absolutely love it - needs some tlc on the bodywork but i am so pleased with it - also has cruise fitted which was a nice suprise because the garage didnt list that in their advert.

got an absolutely cracking deal will post details etc later along with some pics when its shiny shiny - 1 previous lady owner

got to love black leather - dont think any1 has ever sat in the back of it until today.

it must b decent even the missus wanted to drive it and has done and now wants 1 ;-)

    cheers

  10. Yay

Just put deposit down on a silver fabia vrs 07 plate - full leather - picking it up next saturday.

    I cant chuffing wait !!!!!!!!!!!!

I will enjoy the drive back from Bath to Bradford as well. :D:D:D:D

    cheers

  11. took the car into dealer today for daytime driving lights deactivating and enabling of auto lock on drive away.

when ive gone out to the car tonight i seem to be missing the leaving home option on my maxidot - ive still got coming home option tho.

this wouldnt disappear because of having daytime driving lights disabled would it?

the option was definately there b4 they started messing with it. it took 4 mechanics to disable ddl - they were all scratching their heads.

charged me £20+vat for the privelege which i dont mind paying but not to lose features that i had within maxidot.

anybody shed any light 4 me ?

  12. yah i have maxidot but i cant seem to find any options within the maxidot display to do what i want to do ie turn xenons off or seat belt warning off or auto lock on . tried every button press going/stalk position - all i seem to do is clean the front/rear window ,indicate or flash my lights ;-)

found all sorts of settings i dont need to mess with tho heh!!!

  13. yes m8 - ive bin driven with a seatbelt for 22 years - i dont need some f*@kin car tellin me to put it on every time i get in the car ;-).

no its cos i use my motor travelling between building sites that im working at on private land and the short journeys usaually 20-30 seconds transportin ma tools/parts from building to building doesnt warrant puttin ma seatbelt on every time i get in it and its startin to do ma nappa in ;)

think i might invest in some ear plugs ;-) rant off

  14. network administrator u say ;-) well if u ever need any cabling sorting in your office may i offer my services ;) congrats on the new job m8.

    cat5/cat6/fibre installs a speciality

sorry cant resist plugging - its hard work being self employed u cant pass up on opportunities lol

    cheers

  15. Hi

Can any1 help out in bradford or near by with vag com.

    56 plate octy vrs diesel

i want my xenons switching off because at the moment they are on permanently when i drive about.

i want seat belt chime removing

auto lock on drive away enabling as well please.

obviously will contribute with beer tokens.

let me know if u can help out

    cheers

    youngie

  16. got my vrs last saturday nice options including xenons maxidot cruise etc.

right my question is have i got auto headlights and can they be turned off ?

whenever i get in the car and put the keys in ignition xenons come on - i havent got an auto headlight symbol on ma light switch dial so how do i get them to turn off - i feel like a volvo driver

i bought the car as i wanted something quick and stealthy and i didnt want to stand out drawing unnecessary attention to myself but it seems whenever i get in it im driving round looking like blackpool front.

any 1 help or point me in the right direction.

also is there a fix for annoying seatbelt bing bing bing - my old motor u plugged the seatbelt in 10x while keys in ignition and it stopped the bing just flashed up the warning light - doin ma box in .

other than that im quite happy ;-)

    thanks in advance
