I have the same issue I have raised this with dealer and SUK. SUK say that this issue has been raised with Skoda and are awaiting an update from technical re new Skoda Disk (I do have a copy of maps version 7.2 and points of interest works fine.
I stated in e-mail to SUK that the unit as supplied by the factory is borderline not fit for purpose with the software and version of maps supplied. Originally I only had 4 digit postcode search. The conflict between software and maps is well known.
Lets see how long it takes Skoda to resolve the issue and send out the correct disk.
It is easy to load the new maps but as to posting a link here the Forum rules do not allow links to non genuine software. PM me I may be able to help

Have you tried Forces Cars Direct?

The only thing I could say is is that if you are not confident indoing the work yourself ( I know I wouldn't) is find a reputagle ICE installer near you and ask how much it would cost to do the work for you

Hi Everyone I have an new Superb with Columbus and the MDI socket in the arm rest. I have bought the proper VW lead and plugged in my iPod. It comes up on the screen perfectly, but there is no sound - totally silent :(
Any bright ideas?
Thanks
Have you enabled the mdi in Columbus setup?

With software 3970 version V7.2 (7551) or V7.1 (7476) maps must be used. I don't know Skoda part numbers for them but VW part numbers for V7.2 are 1T0 919 859 B / 1T0 051 859 R
Josi thanks for reply I will update SUK politely

Hope someone can help,
I picked up my Skoda Superb Elegance 2 weeks ago and was told that no map disk are supplied as the maps are loaded at the factory!
On trying to enter Postcode discovered that I only had 4 digit postcode search but I did have points of interest. Dealer inserted their disk and upgraded the maps to V7 giving me 7 digit Postcodes .... but.... no points of interest.
The option during navigation is greyed out, and if I type a postcode and then try to search for nearby PoI the unit hangs forcing a reboot.
Dealer has contacted SUK who insist that Patr number 3T0051859 maps V7 is the latest version.
On checking via setup I have the following showing
Part no: 3T003560C
HW Version H06
SW Version 3974
Active Map Coverage West Europe
Active Map Supplier Navteq
Map Version HDD 7333
When I inserted the disk that SUK sent everything read exactly the same including version number.
I have heard about map version 7388 is this an official SUK version?
If yes does anyone have the Part Number?
Has anyone else had this issue with the points of interest?
Any help advice is appreciated.

OK, fair enough. What happens when you try to select POIs from the Map Display menu? Are there any shown, are they greyed out, none shown, what?

the POI is greyed out and if I try to access during route set up I end up having to reboot Columbus as it appears to get stuck displaying "Please Wait"
Hopefully SUK will send correct disc either to dealers or me. Just a point to bear in mind re the supposed up to date factory installed maps

I have version 3974 of software but only version 7333 maps so firmware ok it's the maps that are incorrect
-
If new it should and I say should do full postcode search.
I picked mine up on 14/7 and did not have full search dealer put their disc in and upgraded to v7 maps but I have no points of interest!
Now waiting to see what SUK say re supplying a v7.1 disk as I do not want another trip to dealers. Maps are apparently loaded at manufacture so there appears to be an issue at either the factory or Columbus manufacturers.
Hope this helps

I think all manufacturers are using vague terms re iPod ready when what they "should" say is will play music from iPod. It is only when you read the small print you actually find out. Although strictly speaking they are not breaking any law the manufacturers are certainly "blurring" the truth

I think you will find that even without the chip there is a 70% chance that it will break on removal. As above if the screen leaks they pay. Do you have a sunroof? If yes get them to check drain channel as this can sometimes get"crimped" at the factory which would give similar problem water in footwell

I think you will find numerous people on here have used seat surgeons. The search function will help you locate a "few" threads

phone the insurance company direct, if you have documentary evidence from current insurers they may ask for a faxed copy to prove what you are saying

when light is on press and hold tpm button until a chime is heard this will reset system

Your iPhone will connect via the bluetooth option under drivers seat but this will only allow you to make calls. If you can stream music via blutooth you would not be able to change tracks etc without physically touching phone (AFAIK)
by adding the MDI option you will get a fly lead into glovebox that will allow you to charge iPhone/iPod and you will get full control of what music is playing via the MFSW and the Columbus display.
-
What format are the audio files in? If not MP3 that may be the issue
-
Are the tracks on iPod in MP3 format? Apple may have put them on iPod as their own file system.
Try loading an MP3 onto it if that works you will need to alter settings in iTunes to change the way it saves music

If you look at the manual for the columbus unit page 61 onwards gives basic instructions for using voice control

AFAIK the tourist mode does the same as beam deflectors it "flattens" the dipped headlights so that they do not shine to the left of the road. Providing you are not staying in France for a lengthy period the Tourist mode should be sufficient
