  1. I had the dpf delete and remap on my 2008 pd vRS. I got 218bhp from the car, rolling road proven however, I wouldn't recommend it now. There was a new law brought out on 9th December making it illegal for manufacturers to produce and sell dpf delete and software. Legal action will be brought against companies who are caught. Don't do it.

On the plus side, you can get a remap up to about 210bhp with the dpf remaining. Look up DTUK, who are doing well in the remapping field.

I spent the last 4 years sweating it out each time the car went for it's MOT expecting to be told it was a failure, but some how I got lucky. I've now sold the car and got a 2014 vRS diesel, and on this one, the dpf will be remaining.

i got 212 bhp 345ft lb torque dyno proven with a stage 1 map with dpf in tact , have considered dpf delete but not sure its worth the aggro , performance torque is my recommended tuner
  2. the usp of the 230 is not the additional 10 horsepowers, its the diff.  it also has as standard a bunch of stuff that's an option on a regular vRS; leather, nav, black pack etc.  Agree the stickers are a bit naff but it'd take all of 30 seconds to pull them off if you didn't want them.

I'm on my second Mk2 (180,000 miles between the two of them since 2010) and ready for a change - agree the 280/290 bhp engine would have been nice but unlikely to ever happen given VAG pecking order.. but looking forward to my new car in a month or so.

yep the new diff is supposed to be a great improvement , car looked great but those stickers , like you said 5 minutes and they are off

i will buy a mk3 sometime in the future

  3. just went and viewed the mark 3 oct vrs intending to purchase one but even though they where very nice i could not do it has i know my car is running perfect and i love it lol

did look at a 230 but it had awefull 230 decals on the side , they looked reallt tacky , fair enough if it was boasting 280 bhp like the seat maybe but 230 hp not such a big thing these days

a fairly disapointing trip really , think a stage 2 map might be in order for my baby

  4. As it should be. When you were taught to drive your instructor would have insisted you look over your shoulder. Not down at a poncy little screen that won't show that kid/dog/trolley/whatever about to run across your path. Audible parking sensors are all you need IMO. :)

not dis agreeing i have them fitted to my fl vrs and they are great , was just wandering how good the cameras are

  5. Get the pcp over 2 years then or sell it after 2 years.

I'm only saying if the price is similar the pcp is better.

possibly but they don't hold their values that well as much as i love them , people been struggling to sell them on here at what i think are cheap prices , swings and roundabouts really , what ever suits individual

  6. I've had mine on this deal since late August. Only piece of advice, go easy on the options as you pay the full cost over the two years. But the base spec is so good, you don't NEED to spec much at all. I went sunset glass only. Happy with my car.

only thing i really like s the rear parking sensors but would the camera be better i wander

  7. Ok well Friday i took delivery of my blue fin handset

Was nicely boxed and welll presented

I was a bit nerous at first as £350 from Demon tweeks (other shops are avaible) is a lot to fork out in one go...

So un packed the handset followed the booklet which comes with the thing

Simple clear guilds followed the on screen instrustions

ign off ign on ign off ign on go for a brew in total took about 20mins to read and copy the old/standard map to the hand set

was disipointed at first as the device then stated it needed to download the map from superchips website

GUTTED as it was the weekend and the book said it could take up to 8 days to come back

then had to download some desktop soft ware and plugged in the device

waited abot another 20 mins while it copied the old/standard map and sent it to super chips

Had a email seconds later saying the map was ready!! WINNER!!!!

clicked connect on the blue fin sofeware and it started to copy the new map!

that seemed to take ages but again had to follow the ign on ign off ign on have a brew set up

    Then it was done......

Thought i would take it for a drive and see if the £350 was well spent

i had a stage 1 performance torque map on mine and it managed 252bhp it was awesome

I can confirm that this has totally transformed the car...

Touch the petal and revs a lot more freely

Car is now making full use of the full miltec and panel filter and carbon intake

I pulled on to main road and was instantly shocked by the sheer about of pulling power it now has

Every gear is so much better

Took him for a long drive last night and the MPG has gone up too!! was doing about 33.2 on way back was up to 36mpg and i wasnt hanging about either

All in anyone not running stage one on thier TFSI is losing out big time!!!!!!!

    PB

  8. Shark were charging £499 for a map which was listed on their site so no they didn't see me coming. Where you get your map from, Aldi or Lidl lol!! :)

£500 expensive you should try performance torque Wombourne , no where near that expensive and Will the owner is bloody good , writes his own maps and maps a lot of race cars , i have had 6 done now and all perfect
