  1. Just got my car back from my local dealer who did a warranty investigation into this problem and also the SOS System issue that is blighting VAG. With regards to the MPH/KPH switching problem, they have sent a technical enquiry to Skoda UK Technical team who have responded with "This is a known issue and occurs on most Vehicles. The infotainment system should be updated which may make some improvement but will not fully rectify the complaint. This is a known issue which the Factory is investigating, however there is no solution currently available. Skoda are expecting a software solution to be released at some point but there is no time scale for this." My dealer did update the infotainment system as instructed and have promised to monitor for the release of the new solution and advise once available. Hopefully there will be some improvement in the meantime following the update.
  2. It is very interesting that you are based in Milton Keynes as this seems to be the area that I am experiencing the problem when I visit. I have my car booked in with a local dealer to me (New Southgate N London) and will report what they come back with. For your information, I drove back from Northumberland (4 miles south of the Scottish border) two weeks ago using ACC much of the journey with no problems all of the way on the A1 until I got to around Biggleswade, when the problem showed up for a while. Interesting that this is on a similar latitude to MK.
  3. I now have a 70 Reg 21MY Superb SE L 2.0TSI 190 with Columbus upgrade. I am experiencing a problem with the Columbus or general settings in so much that despite the vehicle setting being set to Imperial measurements , the satnav and speed limit display sometimes switch to KPH instead of MPH, ie when in a 60mph limit, it displays 110. The problem is particularly annoying when in predictive ACC mode when travelling on a smart motorway (like the M1) it reads the 60 on the overhead gantry and slows the speed down to 37mph or 43mph if it sees the National Speed Limit sign. It seems particularly bad around Milton Keynes (home of VAG) both on M1, A5, and on A1 (similar latitude). Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so has it been cured by a visit to the Skoda Dealer.
  4. I also have had the problem. It very much seems to be heat related. First started on a hot summer day on holiday and only really seems to re-occur when the temperature is hot. Allegedly it was "fixed" under warranty when I had the recall on the windscreen washers carried out in August, but only lasted a few days. Car had its first annual service yesterday (12 months old today) and whilst it hasn't been a problem during the colder weather, it has left the rear door trim slightly distorted so it was reported as being an issue to be sorted under warranty again at this service. No paperwork issued to say it was. Checking with the Service centre, Citygate Skoda, to see if it has been resolved.
  5. I took delivery early November and had 2015/2016 installed. Over the week-end I have downloaded the version on the update website which is the 2016 version and installed. Presumably the one being released in May will be the 2016/2017 version. Took quite along time (well over an hour) to download the software and write it to the SD card then took about 30-40 mins to install it on the Columbus. Relaxed and listen to Sade whilst it installed and occasionally turned the ignition on just to make sure the Columbus did not shut down whilst updating. All went fine.
  6. Hatch in what looked like Business Grey on the roundabout at junction 24 of the M25 at Potters Bar. I was in my Petrol Blue hatch at the time.
  7. So far I have covered about 1700 miles in the last 2 1/2 months. MPG is disappointing at approx. 35.5 but it is winter and the cold weather doesn't help, and there is a lot of start stop in my 9 mile 35+minute each way commute every day partly down narrow muddy country lanes with passing places. Nevertheless, the car is still amazingly smooth and has plenty of poke when you put it in sport mode and put your foot down. It is a vast improvement on the Mk2 Elegance 2.0 TDI 170 4x4 that I had. Really quiet and refined.
  8. I have loaded pictures on of my Petrol Blue 1.4 TSI DSG SEL Exec on. 1.4 TSI Is it Powerful Enough I like it !!
  9. Have a look at my reply on 1.4 TSI Is it Powerful Enough
  10. Well I have had the car now for four rain soaked days but have still enjoyed every minute driving the new Superb III 1.4TSI DSG SE L Exec, mostly commuting in North London traffic. Having upgraded from a Superb II Elegance 2.0 TDI 170 4x4 which I had for almost 6 years, I have not noticed being short changed in the slightest in terms of power. The car us so smooth and quiet that it encourages a more relaxed attitude to driving, especially as I have set the Traffic Assist to warn me when I go +3mph over the speed limit. The Traffic Sign recognition is excellent and the signs are recognised a split second after passing. When I have wanted to put my foot down, no problem, the power is there. Today I even tried the Adaptive Cruise Control on a single carriageway road at 50 MPH. There is right turn on this road where some traffic turns off right. The car slowed to stationary as the cars in front slowed to turn right, and when the cars had turned, just started accelerating to 50. Eerie but amazing. I must admit that the whole family love the colour combination of Petrol Blue metallic and Beige leather. Different light conditions certainly change the colour. Hopefully I have linked to my album of the car below

  15. Collected last night a Superb III SE L Exec 1.4TSI 150 DSG hatchback in Petrol Blue Metallic with Beige Interior. Extras include Heated windscreen, rear wiper, rear camera, colour multidot and travel assist. Having changed from a Skoda II Elegance 170 TDi 4x4 I can say that the 1.4 TSI is both a great deal quieter and the DSG is seamlessly smooth and would appear to be plenty powerful enough.
  16. Collected tonight from Citygate Skoda, Superb SE L Exec 1.4TSI 150 DSG hatchback in Petrol Blue Metallic with Beige Interior. Unfortunately have not seen the car in daylight yet as I did not collect until after 6pm tonight. Will try and take pictures tomorrow. A very happy bunny tonight :cocktail:
  17. I have just had it confirmed that my 1.4TSI DSG SE L Exec has been built and is in transit to Emden. This was ordered 22nd August. Hopefully may be in Sheerness by the end of the week.
  18. Just been notified that my new Superb has a confirmed build week of week 41 Superb III SE L Exec Hatchback 1.4 TSI 150 DSG (given all the flack at the moment, probably a good choice) Petrol Blue Metallic with Beige Interior 18" Pegasus Alloys Extras include: Heated Front Windscreen, Rear Parking Camera, Rear Wiper,.............. Ordered 22nd August at Citygate Skoda so it looks like an 11 week lead time.
  19. Thank you 170. I think my mind is made up now. Petrol Blue Metallic + Beige upholstery. Should look excellent
  20. Does anyone know whether any of the new demonstrators/showroom models hitting Skoda dealers at the moment are in Petrol Blue metallic. From what I can see, they are all in silver/grey, white or black. According to a recent survey, Blue is now the favourite colour for new cars in the UK so it would be good to see it in that colour in the flesh. Failing that, does anyone know whether the Petrol Blue in the Superb II is an exact match of the Petrol Blue in the Superb III as it would help in the decision making.
  21. Citygate Skoda in Colindale SEL Executive Estate 2.0 TDI 190 DSG Black Metallic SEL Executive Hatch 2.0 TDI 150 Manual Business Grey The Superb has finally arrived in London. Citygate Skoda in Colindale took delivery of two yesterday, The first is what is supposed to be a SEL Executive Estate 2.0 TDI 190 DSG in Black Metallic which I was lucky enough to take for a test drive yesterday afternoon. The second I believe is a SEL Executive Hatch 2.0 TDI 150 Manual in Business Grey which still had some of the protective wrapping on it but looked very nice. My main issue is that both had Alcantara seats when the Brochures state very clearly that the SEL Executive comes as standard with Leather Upholstery. The Alcantara was very comfortable, but as I am probably looking to go for cream interior and would be seriously concerned about the durability of cream Alcantara, this is and issue for me. Why are Skoda putting out demonstrators with non standard specifications!! Or is the brochure wrong!! I am sure that some clarification from Skoda would be appreciated.
  22. The problem is now solved. Suddenly started working again on 25th Jan after at least 3 weeks with no information. Must have been a problem with the traffic info coming out of Capital Radio
  23. I have a 2009 Superb II Elegance with a the Columbus SatNav unit fitted. After almost 5 years of working relatively OK, I have recently noticed that the Map no longer displays the "traffic problem" string of cars on the display. I still have list of traffic announcements displayed when pressing the "Traffic" button on the unit. The owners manual is not very helpful. I am wondering if I need to reset the unit using factory settings in order to get this function working again. Does anyone know how to get this working again as I do find it useful on my travels
  24. PBSuperb 2009 Elegance 2.0CR 170 4x4 Satin Grey. 2nd Superb. 1st was 2004 Elegance 1.9TDI. Brand loyalty Eh!
