What does this warning noise mean on a Skoda superb?
jointintell replied to dochsm's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Appreciate your comments but my car was less than 3 months old and this problem manifested itself. Still, as you say, it's unlikely. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk -

Possibly your battery running low? - although admittedly this shouldn't happen when you're running. My 58 plate was fitted with an incorrect battery at the factory unbeknownst to me at the time. If I was sitting on my local rank for half an hour (I'm a taxi) with all the gubbins switched on I'd get a low level bong coming from the speakers (not the dash like fuel or temp etc) and an accompanying message 'low battery' would appear on the stereo display but only for a couple of seconds so I missed it the first few times it happened. Shouldn't happen if you're running but if you've only just started running the battery could be topping up. After 145k miles this is the only speaker bong I've encountered. Others have all come from the dash. Check it out. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk -
Anyone getting flashed at night?...
jointintell replied to jointintell's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
<sighs deeply> s-spec means no settings. However, I do have the old style lamps which come with that little metal lever (the tourist lever) that chops off the left hand edge. It was news to me after 145k miles and dozens of euro trips! I have been driving with this lever in the uk position, so extra light on the kerb but why this would blind oncoming on the right is still a mystery. I shall leave the lever on euro setting and see if it majdptamw difference. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk -

Watsona6, that was waaay too cryptic. Besides, we've got perfectly good public toilets for that kinda behaviour apparently. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk -

6 monthly mot's mean correct alignment and s-spec means no maxidot. Did the swapping cars with a mate thing and they looked ok but it's the best response so far waveydavey [emoji1] I'm not really after hard answers guys. It was meant more of a tongue-in-cheek observation that I guess I should've made clearer from the outset. Apologies to everyone taking it more seriously than I intended. None of the above applies mate but thanks for the lessons. I like to keep my tyres pumped up. Maybe that's it. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk -

Dunno why Tapatalk or Briskoda have deemed it necessary to edit the word S-W-A-N-K-Y. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk -
...or is it just me. I get flashed regularly at night. They think I've got full beam on but I don't. It's a 58 S-spec so no s****y lights. 6 monthly mot's and I have mentioned it. I do keep the alignment knob at it's highest setting but I've done that in every car I've driven and it's never been an issue. Not that I really care cos I always get that moment of smug satisfaction as they draw level and realise their mistake [emoji56] Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

I like 'em but they don't make a blind bit of difference to my fatigue levels at night. Although, thinking about it, maybe they do. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

skoda superb clutch solid or duel mass
jointintell replied to maacushla's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Been running a 58 plate as a taxi into the ground. The original dual mass lasted 60k miles so replaced it with the solid kit. Now done 150k with no issues. Sure, it's a bit more agricultural and there's a nominal fuel consumption increase but heh. The original dual mass lasted 60k and was £400. The kit was £400 but it's still going after another 90k and will cost £100 to change so I'm not complaining. -
Hi everyone. Bought my s-spec over a year ago and am very happy with it. 30k hassle-free (almost) miles so far. It came equipped with the Swing stereo which is fine but I was wondering if anyone has successfully managed to upgrade to the Bolero and how they went about it. I am not interested in the Colombus as I'd rather use my own satnav. Any suggestions gratefully received.

First Puncture in Greenline with No Spare - Damn
jointintell replied to daveconst's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
My bog standard s-spec came with a full size spare thankfully but beware of the jacks as they don't inspire confidence. None of this made any difference last month when both back tyres punctured at the same time. Not much fun. Lesson learned? Ditch the crappy vag jack and keep a decent one in the boot. -
Cornering function? Wow! How does that work then? Not an option on my s-spec. Is it as useful as parking assist?
